Jason (Chief) is the best! Hes an excellent artist. He loves his work and it definitely shows. He loves the challenge of cover up tattoos that any other tattoo shop would turn down. He is very creative and helps take your tattoo idea and adds on to it to make it better than you would imagine. He does the research behind tattoos to make them even more meaningful and significant. Hell work with you on prices. Honestly the VERY BEST prices I have ever seen at a tattoo shop. The shop is very clean and sanitary. Top of the line, custom tattoos that no on else has, for a great price. You seriously cant beat it!!

Chief did a great job! I decided to get my first tattoo to celebrate being a 5 year breast cancer survivor. A friend of mine recommended Chief. I knew I wanted a pink ribbon, but wasnt exactly sure what I wanted. I talked to Chief about what I wanted and he created a perfect tattoo for me. I had a great time at AWOL Custom Tattooing as soon as I walked in. Even though I was a little nervous getting my first tattoo, Chief put me at ease. I cant recommend AWOL enough. I will definitely get all my future tattoos at AWOL.

Awesome work,clean,helpful and super friendly. I rate these guys 6 out of 5! Mr. Chainsaw....life happens. Like sickness or emergencys. That maybe why your artist canceled. Has nothing to do with customer service. Would you want him working on you if hes sick or mentaly not there cause a love one died or is in the hospital? I dont think so. Tanya...the shop is open til 11 but the piercer is only there til 5 sometimes 6. So to catch him there that late was odd.

I have been to Chief for two tattoos. One is a cover-up and the other was a touch-up. He is a very professional person and is a very talented artist! I love both of my tattoos and would recommend him to anyone wanting one! The store is very clean and a professional atmosphere, and the other employees are really friendly! Bring Chief a cookie tote from mcdonalds, and hell be your BFF!! Great place, talented artist!!

I recently got a tattoo here by Chief and I love it!! He is a great artist and does a good job on his work. Also very helpful, nice and respectful while you are sitting there getting the tattoo, which is good because it really helps to have someone tattooing you who is nice to you while you are in pain... lol. I would recommend him to anyone looking to get a tattoo in Muskegon. :-)

Watched my husband get a large tattoo done on his side. Chef was patient with explaining to me everything while I asked multiple questions Im sure was enough to annoy anyone. His work is amazing and he works even harder to give you what you want exactly how you want it. Planning to come here to get work done on myself while my husband is still coming back to get more done often.

I was on my way to go to AWOL to get my nose pierced. I called on my way to make sure they were open, and asked how much it would be. The guy was nice on the line but I could hear him talking to the piercer and he refused to pierce my nose because "hes done for the day" at 8pm when the close at 11pm. I thought that was poor customer service and Im taking my piercing elsewhere.

I have been to CHIEF for 7 new tatts and 2 re-touched tattoos over the last month, one of which bring a large side piece! CHIEF WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND VERY NICE! CHIEF has a great eye for detail and all my tatts look amazing! I would recommend AWOL & CHIEF to everyone!! As a matter of fact my sister,bro-in-law,husband & good friend have all booked with him too!!

Awesome experience! Chief took the time to look at all of my pictures, answer all of my questions and random thoughts about the piece. He took all of the pictures and put them together, in his artistic style, for a beautiful shoulder piece. This girl is happy! It was sooooo worth the 3 hrs I traveled to see him. Plans for another piece in the works.

The Chief does beautiful work, however it takes months to get on his schedule. Then cancels 5 min after the appointment started. The receptionis said he has a lot going on right now. And wanted to rebook in another 4 months. Im sorry but I took time off work for this. The Chief just isnt up to tattooing anymore I guess.... Taking my business elsewhere

AMAZING!!! Jason aka Chief is currently working on my entire arm sleeve and I have never been happier with any tattoo. He is very professional, clean, and has an eye for detail. I got a BEAUTIFUL shoulder piece from Jason at AWOL. He is the nicest guy ever and a wonderful tattooist who has a great passion for what he does and I love that. He did a cover up for me and it looks like I never had a crappy tattoo to begin with! I definitely recommend going to this place.

Ive had a couple tattoos done here. Ray is the artist that I see when I go there. Service is great and the prices arent even half bad. They will work with you on designs or you can bring your own. Overall 5/5. This is and has been my tattoo shop to go to since I was 16.

Eric did my navel piercing, and the environment was very comfortable. Coming from a girl who has two ear piercings and cried for each of those, my navel piercing didnt even hurt! The piercers are very willing to help throughout the healing process.
