I am someone that does not have very many piercings in fact I only had two, one in each ear. I wanted to try something new for my boyfriend, so I decided to get my nipples pierced. But I was so scared; I know I had to get it done before I chickened out. So I called around and found a couple piercing parlors. There was one that no one picked up and one told me they could not get me in for three months. :( Then I called the orphanage tattoos and I got in the same day. The place was real clean the guy that does the piercing has over ten years’ experience and I watch the guy open all the tools in front of me. The guy that did my piercing was very professional which helped me get over my fear. He did not lie to me and tell me it is not going to hurt, he told what to expect to deal with the pain. The best part was the price you can’t beat there pricing! I will be going back when I get the other piercings done!

I have been given the run around for a month at this place and STILL havent got my tattoo!! I went in there 3 Saturdays ago and Jake (owner) wasnt doing anything that day but wouldnt do my tattoo. He said he didnt make appointments for that day because he "had other things going". I got a consult and had to make an appointment for a few Saturdays out (yesterday). He said he wasnt making any other appointments for that day either because he had a conference on Friday and he would be too tired on Saturday. Then 2 hours before I was supposed to come in he called me and said he either had allergies or a cold but he wasnt going to be able to do my tat. It seems to me like if youre having a hard time getting an appointment it probably isnt because they are awesome but more like because he doesnt FEEL like doing a tat that day or "has other things going". Ridiculous. You have a business....run it.

I had to wait a week for my tattoo appointment, big deal, I have to wait to see my dentist too. While my drawing was being worked on, I stopped in to check on the progress. Jake had a couple ideas he was working off. I picked the one I liked best, and set up an appointment. When i arrived, everything was ready, I filled out the paperwork and got my tattoo. I have several other tattoos, and have never felt so attended to as i have here. Absolutely top notch for this area, and west Michigan.

I have two tattoos now, and I have had them both done here. All of the staff are very personable. Dave Melendez is an artist at the Orphanage and he is always very friendly. He has done both of my tattoos and if I ever have any questions he is willing to answer them! I would definitely recommend the Orphanage for your next tattoo or piercing because the work done there is great, and it is one of the cleanest shops Ive seen in Muskegon.

I work close to muskegon once and a while and had a day off been thinking of this tattoo for a while called "early" and had a women named shamber sketch my tattoo on in about a hour and slapped the ink right on she was very good and nailed the tattoo very pleased with the service and would recommend it to anyone.

i had to wait a couple weeks for jake to finish my drawing, but what he did was exactly what i was thinking of. i went to a coupoe other shops in muskegon, and i just got either silly looks or a bad attitude. not at the orphanage. i really like it there. will be back

Im a huge germaphobe and extremely paranoid about infections when it comes to getting tattoos and piercings, but the orphanage is a super clean shop with amazing artists. Im planning on getting my next few tattoos here. Id recommend to anyone.

This is the only place to get a tattoo in Muskegon. Lonnie has a great crew there, and they all do excellent work. By far the cleanest and neatest shop in the area. My daughter got a piercing while I got my tattoo. See you guys soon. <3
