Mark did an incredibly amazing job on a half sleeve on my 4 years ago. After my mom passed away in August 2016, naturally I came back. At that time he told me he was booked until January 2017, which was disappointing but I know he was with the wait. 2 days before my scheduled appointment, he called to tell me he lost all my pictures. I brought them up to him the next day and I knew there was no way for him to have a drawing ready the next day. I asked if my son could take my appointment and we would reschedule. Mark agreed but told me if my son had walked in off the street, he wouldnt of done his tattoo at all because it was too small. I waited about 1 1/2 months after, what was supposed to be my tattoo appointment and still hadnt heard from Mark, so I text him and through that conversation I learned that I was now going to have to wait until January 2018!! Its just my opinion but I think it is wrong that I have to wait a year, due to him losing all my pictures. Im sorry Mark but I am going to have to go elsewhere.

I was in search of a great tattoo artist who had the ability to draw a complicated biblical tattoo. Eventually after visiting multiple tattoo shops, I came across Mark Somo at Gallery Tattoo in Ferndale, MI. He was very welcoming, personable, professional, and transparent about the entire tattoo experience. He gave me some great advice about some loose ends I had contemplated with the details of the tattoo itself. Mark create a perfect sketch with all the details that I wanted and was very open-minded to the things I wanted to change. The day of the tattoo, since it was my first one, he made sure I was happy and comfortable. The shop was very clean, sterile in the appropriate areas, and organized. We had some great conversations during the 9 hours tattoo session. Mark was very positive and enjoys being in the ferndale community. The detail on my tattoo are perfect and I cant imagine it to look any better than how he did it. I highly recommend Mark Somo for your tattoo. This guy is quite an artist!

I had Mark cover a horrible tattoo that several artists in the past said wouldnt be doable. The guy is very passionate about what he does and the end result proves it. My old tattoo is completely disguised and my new tattoo is a mind blowing design with incredible detail. You end up with a true work of art that you cant get from just anywhere. Id recommend getting in now while you can because once this guys name gets out there, average Joes like you and I wont be able to afford his work.

One of my friends had a few of her tattoos done by Mark at Tattoo Gallery, and I really liked the way they turned out, so I decided to give the place a shot for my own. Excellent decision! Mark is very kind and funny, and will listen and work with you on what you want. I am looking forward to making another appointment in September to get my next piece of body art! My experience at this tattoo shop was AMAZING. Mark (the tattoo artist and owner) was super helpful, made recommendations, and was able to create the exact tattoo I wanted. The shop is clean, open, friendly, and inviting. I would definitely recommend this place to other looking to get a tattoo - ESPECIALLY those that arent that experienced with tattoos because Mark and his staff will really help you out and guide you in the right direction.

My sister and I wanted mark but he was booked. We were recommended to his partner. We got a small ass little matching tattoo and the guy charged us 100 a piece. 60 at max was way more reasonable. I regret not asking him why. We didnt even bother to tip because we felt so ripped off. I will recommend Mark Somo who seem more reasonable but No to the other guy. We couldve gone down the street for a cheaper price.

Mark was extremely helpful and patient and took his time to help me create the exact tattoo that I wanted. The shop is clean and it just has a wonderful vibe to it. Mark Somo will not waste his artistry on any tattoo smaller than 1/2 sleeve and is booked a year in advance. He claims to be #1 rated in Michigan and will not put his artwork next to anyone elses without redoing the whole thing. Expect to spend $500 or more if you are able to get fitted in his schedule.

Mark Somo has AMAZING tattoo skills. One of the best artists I have ever seen. He can transform ink into a work of art on whichever platform he uses as a canvas. He has awesome skills and and a wonderful demeanor. He is a MASTER of his craft and I will never go elsewhere for a tattoo.
