They want you to put down the whole amount for the car that you want to test drive. So pretty much, you have to buy the car before you can drive it. The owner wanted me to put pay $4,000 just so I can test drive a car with over 200,000 miles on it. He said I could get my money back if I didnt like it, but that makes no sense if youre selling a car as -is. That means if I purchase the car and I dont like it then I can bring it back and get my money back, heaven knows he wouldnt agree to that. He complained about having cars stolen in the past from people that test drive the cars and said he was tired of it. The only problem I have with that is since youre a "dealer" I know you have insurance on every single car in that lot, which means no matter what, you get your money. If you are so scared of the area that you do business in and have no respect for the residents, then you might as well leave and stop trying to take our money. Because what youre doing sounds like its illegal.
