Updated: please read whole review before deciding anything. My sales person was John Childers, he was very friendly. I was told I was receiving 2k for my trade but only got 1k after fully reviewing the paper work. There was also a recall on the vehicle and was told that it had been fixed. But after calling the car manufacturer I learned that it would have been impossible for them to fix it because the manufacturer had only started shipping out the part at the end of January. And I bought the car February 4. I wouldnt say I disliked the entire process with thrifty but Im not exactly happy with them. Update : John called me and asked if I could come in and he could talk to me about my review. I went in and he had "the" paper with him already when I got there. It read that I would be getting 1k for my trade. So even though I was told I would be getting 2k Im S.O.L. just not in those words. John wanted to know how he could get me to change the review to a better one so I asked, "idk, how about some oil changes?" He said hed have to check with his manager and he would call me Friday or Monday. This was on Thursday 4 weeks ago. March 3rd. I lived a little less than a mile from my place of employment at the time and I was working a lot of days. I lost that job and was out and looking for a job driving around. I noticed that the steering wheel was not aligned correctly and that it also pulled to the right. I went in that Wednesday after talking to John to tell them about it and john said that he would have to tell his manager and she would get back to me because she had left for the day. This was all within a month of having the vehicle. While I was there he asked if I had thought about changing my review and I then asked john if there was any word on the oil changes, he said that he completely forgot about it and he still needs to ask the manager. The manager called me the next day (Thursday) to talk to me about the alignment and such and told me that it would cost the minimum of $100 because of the warrantee plan I bought with the car. She also pretty much accused me of driving the car into big pot holes and that could be the reason why the alignment was needed. I told her that I had the car less than a month and I worked less than a mile from home and there is no reason why this car should need any of this so soon. She said she would talk to her boss/ the owner about it and would get back to me soon. Its been 3 to 4 weeks since then and Ive heard nothing from them. All they care about is selling a car and getting you to give a good review. I just received a check from them because I over payed to have the car registered through them and on the note said something on the line of "dont forget we have a referral program and youll get $100 if they buy a car." But nothing about the oil changes or the alignment.

My girlfriend and I went in looking to get her a car we told them what were were working with and they had her fill out all the paper work. They left and ran it and came back with asking me to co-sign. I was hesitant because of my financial situation, but I ultimetly agreed. So they came back after a few minuets. We couldnt get into the car she wanted but they showed us something similar. She liked they went to see what the payments would be. Turns out she couldnt afford it. So we finaly find a car she likes. The came back with a down payment of $600 more than we said and a car payment of $85 more than we said. So we decided to go ahead with it. We made the down payment in part and went to go do the paper work. Now this is where it gets messed up. I went from co signer to buyer and her a co buyer. They put the car on my insurance. it was all in my name. After getting home we were discussing it and felt it wasnt right. So we called up and they told us to come back. They cancelled the order and told us we had to come back yet again to get our refund on the down payment. When we went back there to get our refund they were still pushing us to buy a car we can not afford. I had to get quite nasty with them, threatening to call the Attorneys General office and my lawyer. I legally have 3 business days to exit the contract. only after that did we get our money back. They dont care what you can afford, you are better off for the money you spend going somewhere else where at least you wont have high mileage cars. stay away.

Update: The owner commented on my post and said me and my uncle belittled them and that they tried to help us. That is false and he knows that very well. We continued to ask about the $500 they fraudulently took from me and he said "well she can buy her trade in back for $500". All they car about is money and finding a way to get over on their customers. He also commented that he offered us to sit in person and dicuss the issue line by line to clear things up for me, which is totally a lie. I was not given 1,000 for my trade in like they said and this is not the first time theyve done this to their customers. Yes, i signed the papers which i regret, but it doesnt change the fact that Thrifty Auto Sales "ups" their posted car prices to look better for the banks", and those are exact words from the owner himself and Courtney the one who had a hangover from the 98° concert the day before i signed the papers, which was said by Brian the "manager". These people have no morals. I dont recommend this place at all!!! I just bought my car 3 days ago and they said i was going to receive 1,000 for my trade in and i only receiver $500 for my trade in. They had my car posted for 17497 the added another 500 to it after they knew i was trading my car in. They fraud their customers. They dont explain anything. This is my first time buying a car and worst experience with these people. Even David the owner of all New England Thrifty dealers is an inconsiderate ***hole. Dont recommend.

I had known for a while that I would be in the market for a late model used car in early 2014, so I had been eyeing the different lots in the area for a few months and had pretty good insight as to which dealers had the newest and nicest models. Thriftys lots were constantly full of an ever changing variety of shiney eye candy so I started there. As I checked out what they had to offer I met John M. who is part of the Springfield locations Sales team. He showed me a couple of my initial choices and we discussed what my wants and needs were. He was easy to talk to and wasnt pushy and it was clear that he had yrs of experience. Over the next few days I was allowed to check out and thoroughly test drive a few models and take my feelings home overnight and sleep on them. I knew that I not only had the inventory in Springfield to decide from, but also vehicles that were at other Thrifty locations. About a week into the process I recieved a call from John telling me to come on dI drove on over and low and behold he was right. A few days later I was driving around in my practicly new, low mileage, one owner corporatly leased SUV. A very positive experience.
