I was impressed by the attention to detail the gentlemen at Bike Boom paid my bike, and their comprehensive understanding of my concerns. I stopped into Bike Boom about two weeks ago with a minor problem. My bike was adjusted within five minutes and when I mentioned other ongoing issues Id had the manager looked over the bike and made recommendations, including a full service tune up. When I brought my bike back for the tune up a different manager was equally helpful, kind, and attentive. He identified that the brake pads were worn, and upon hearing that I ride thru the winter suggested specific brake pads that are best for wetter weather. I left my bike for tune up around 1 PM and received a call by 4 PM that the bike was ready to be picked up. That turn around time was even quicker than the 1-3 days I had been quoted when I left the bike. The guys at Bike Boom did an excellent job-the bike looks and rides great. As others have said, the price range was very reasonable. For $20 more than I paid for a standard tune up at a different bike shop in the spring Bike Boom not only tuned up my bike but replaced the brake pads and cables in three hours and with extensive attention to detail. In addition to their excellent technical service each person I interacted with was pleasant, kind, and went out of their way to be helpful. I look forward to continuing to take my bike to Bike Boom when I need further assistance.

I went to Bike Boom after checking out nearby options and comparing prices and reviews. Im glad I decided on bike boom because the guy who helped me Im going to assume that it was Ari based on the receipt. He said it would take 3 days. Then I get a call telling me that its ready for pick up, four hours after I had dropped it off. I was (explosion sound) mindblowned. For all the work Bike Boom did I cant complain about the price. It was affordable. The service was quick and mentally painless. Honestly walking in and talking to Ari* (if its not Ari who I spoke with I apologize I am going off a receipt detail) I didnt have doubts he seemed like an honest man. I took it for a ride as soon as I got it and man... it was like new. I couldnt believe how terrible my bike rode before. On a side note my front light was a little loose and I think they tightened it. That attention to detail swooned me. I never write reviews but dang it they deserve all the business. I will definitely come by again. Thanks for the great service and repairs. Praise!

Really excellent service, and the price is right. I got a tune up here recently, and in the past I have purchased a new wheel from these guys after I got doored on Cambridge St. The representative on hand is always very attentive and informative, and they are very clear about what they will do for your bike and how much it will cost. Compared to other places that will remain unnamed, these guys go through step by step what should happen for your service, call you if anything comes up, and they are always helpful for good advice if you dont know what to do next. I would recommend this place over others that give you stuff you dont need, or sometimes do the work sloppily/without thinking ahead so that more work has to be done later.

I had a problem with my headset, which is pretty simple for a mechanic. The first guy was nice but didnt really know what he was doing, so he handed me over to the second guy. This one knew more but had a really bad attitude. Spent more time lecturing me than trying to help fix things and basically said Id ruined things and he couldnt do anything (its true is ruined things, but not true they couldnt do anything). So I went to ace wheelworks who were a million times better. Sad to have such a bad experience here when it has so many good reviews but at least it helped me find a much better bike shop nearby.

If your bike needs work, stop looking around and bring it here. Ive been to almost all of the bike shops in Boston. Ive even apprenticed at a shop in the area. This place is the best you will find. They are knowledgable, thorough, fast, fairly priced, and above all else friendly. If youve been to other shops, especially as a novice biker, youll know that the bike world can get kind of cultish. You wont find any snobbery, judgement, or executive decisions about what you need to spend money on at Bike Boom - just extremely high quality service with a great attitude for the best price youll find in the area.

The employees are so helpful, considerate, and friendly. I have been a few times. Once I stopped by because my U-lock got jammed and the key wouldnt turn to open the lock. They fixed my u-lock, explained how to avoid it jamming again, and honestly seemed glad to help with no charge. Each time Ive been they have been kind enough to share their knowledge and help me out, even when I wasnt buying anything. I will be glad to give this place the business anytime I need to buy any gear or need a tune-up. I highly recommend them. Im sure that this is the place to go with any questions or advice as well.

Robert was such a great help to me. I went in for a new fender, because every time it rains I was thinking "Im sick of by butt getting so dirty" and Robert put on just the right one for such a cheap price!! Going here made me realize how much other shops have been over charging me. He pointed out my brakes were really worn and fixed them up even though I hadnt mentioned that as one of my problems. My final price was surprisingly low and my bike came out so fine. . . all fixed up. . . ready for all the rides. So happy.

This bike shop is the best. The staff is so friendly and considerate. Ive been here three times now and theyve always been good to me. The owner once said the price was different than the one listed and automatically gave me the lower price. Theyve taken my bike in as Ive gotten there minutes after closing, the pricing is fair, theyve fixed small things for me and explained what was wrong at low or no charge. Great, honest, friendly guys.

Every time Ive been in, whether it was for a consultation for a bike I was considering buying, a tune-up, a new kickstand or just a quick tire pump, Ive had a wonderful experience. Every single time is a pleasant, productive interaction in which I dont feel that theyre trying to sell me anything. They understand what it means to be on a budget, and are happy to work with you no matter what your wallet and bicycle needs are!

Armando is the man! I brought in a sorry beat-up old bike and he asked whether I wanted it to ride like new or just get in and out cheaply. I went for the latter, and he quickly replaced a bad break, fixed the chain, inflated the tires, and adjusted the seat right there on the spot, despite the fact that they have a full calendar of customers. Wholeheartedly recommend!
