This is without any question the worst game store I have ever been in. Im a serious, high end collector and I like to visit as many independent game stores as I can, as I am always looking for rare items for my collection. I do have to say these guys had quite an inventory of rare games but they are all ridiculously overpriced, and thats if they even want to sell them to you at all. The first title I saw that I was interested in was Misadventures of Tronne Bonne. I asked the price and was told $500. Tronne Bonne regularly sells online for $120-150. When I called the employee out on the price I was told that its "part of their collection" and they dont want to sell it because its so rare but since people kept asking about it they decided to price it at an amount that no one would want to pay for it. Do you guys know anything about games? Tronne Bonne is not that rare a game and the very fact that you dont want to sell it and would price it at quadruple its market value is beyond ridiculous. And then I saw they had Bubble Bath Babes on their shelf. This is one of the rarest games on the NES and is one Ive been trying to win on eBay for years. I asked about the price and if I had been quoted a reasonable price I would have had my credit card on the counter in a heartbeat. Instead I was told it was not for sale. I want to be clear that this game was not in a special case or anything like that, it was just on a shelf with other games that were for sale (same with Tronne Bonne). Silly me thinking you were selling the games on your shelf. The employee seemed shocked that I would even ask if it was for sale. "You know how rare that game is," I was told, as though that was all the justification needed for not selling it. Yes, I know how rare that game is. Thats why I wanted to buy it. I was so angry after that exchange that I stormed out. I cant remember the last time my experience at a store made me that angry. Are you guys collectors or are you a game store? Because if youre collectors do like the rest of us do and keep your collection at home to show off to your friends. I came in to your store ready to spend big money and walked out empty handed because you dont want to sell anything of value in your store. From now on Ill be taking my business to other game stores in New England, who have all adopted this crazy policy of actually selling games to their customers regardless of how rare they are. Im sure this place is a fine establishment if youre looking for some cheap DS games to shut your kids up in the car but I want to warn all serious collectors: stay far away from this place. These guys are a joke and are not worth the time or the effort it takes to pay them a visit. If youre in New England and you want to shop for rare collectible games Id recommend paying Thats Entertainment in Worcester and Fitchburg a visit instead. They have a killer selection and always have some cool rare games on their shelves that theyre actually willing to sell you.

I used to go to gamezone back when it was in its original location, have known the owner and have been helped out by him a bunch. Now gamezone is on essex street and i cant even stand to go in there. The people who work there now dont know as much as they think, everytime anyone brings something in to trade in, it "recently went down in price" and end up- getting little to nothing for what they traded in. The people who work there shouldnt work there, they should have real jobs, and let the kids have the kid jobs, theyre all really cocky and think they know everything. The owner should hire a whole new group of kids to work there because all the people who work there do is complain about how they dont get paid enough. Also everytime I go in there it feel like I am in an arguement with one of the employees, the way im talked to, and if im not talked to they are all sitting on laptops. Also some of the employees need a lesson or two in hygene. The whole place smells like an awful body odor. Its sad how one of my favorite childhood stores turned into a store that I dont even want to go into. The owner should seek change before people stop going in there altogether.

ive been going to gamezone for a year and a half now, and i must say that this store is the ONLY store around in the area that you can get great games like this. if i recall right, there used to be a lady working there who would over price many games, but now she does not work there, and gamezone has been lowering many of their prices, even some from 50-100 drops! thats incredible! i mean im a collector, and i would honestly never shop anywhere else other than this place, they have layaway, the original boxes and manuals for their games, and they even have stuff that you can barely find anywhere else :) i cant get enough of this place. i think that its most DEFINITELY a place for collectors and old school gamers to check out, i mean i suggested this place to most of my friends, and all of them havent stopped going. the staff there are also really knowledgeable about the stuff, i have good conversations with the people who work there about old school games. its nice to talk to someone who knows what theyre talking about. my overall rating is a 9/10 for gamezone, its just that good.

The owner and everyone who works there is completely and absolutely UNPROFESSIONAL. They hang up on you, they turn their phone off, they give you CRAP money for something that you literally bought FROM THEM directly for at least double what theyd pay you. The owner is retarded or something because he doesnt understand anything you tell him and he doesnt listen to a complete thought. Not to mention, everything in this store is overpriced by far, and the owner does not put customers first. Hed rather give an item to an employee than let a customer purchase it. This store is absurd. The staff also has no idea what theyre talking about when it comes to games or pricing. Overall, dont waste your time, or your money on this store. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.

A small, unassuming store in a tourist town... The sort that youd expect to have some normal-ish stuff at okay prices, and other stuff at absolutely outlandish prices. First-off, this store is owned and operated by knowledgeable gamers. They know what theyre talking about as well as anyone. Secondly, their prices that Ive compared are competitive with the internet and way better than Game stop, with way better customer service and overall experience. (Gamers will always be a little awkward, but I assume you knew that and dont care if youre reading this review.) Frankly, theyre actually concerned with treating you the way they want to be treated and know what theyre talking about. Local business at its finest. Cant recommend enough.
