I will never set foot in this place again over what just happened me at checkout. I come up on checkouts 1 line which is 12 item line has light on for service but even though I had only a few items there was more people waiting there so about 3 other lines had people cueing with no lights on and all others are closed no one attending .line I stood in had one lady getting checked out a guy in cue behind her and a girl behind him who was in front of me. Not once while in cue did I hear fresh cheeky kid at register say he was close ,meanwhile lady in front of me had to leave cue to get a gallon of water ,I told her I would hold her spot but she took trolley and by time guy in front of her was finished she was not back so guy at checkout was looking straight at me, I stepped up right in front of guy and proceeded to take out my few groceries he watch and waited and then nachalantly said to me Im closed , I said first I heard of it he said I told last guy I served grand good man pity you wouldnt tell the two people who were behind him standing like fools ,do he not use light system because after he little whippersnapper shunned me and my groceries I moved to another line with a cue and no light and I got checked out no problem, but to add insult to it all I turn around and my man at my original register is serving said girl who disappeared after he told me he was close ,he is lucky we were in a public place or he would be Sleeping. I called for manager as this really riled me , I asked for am apology from said cashier manager went and got him but sent him up to me alone and he further tried to tell me I was wrong ,Star Market ye are a disgrace this young man is lucky we werent outside , Customer is always right and when I ask for a simple apology he comes up to me with denial and manager couldnt even bother his ass to come over and witness this going down, wont be back for fear of that happening again because I fear what I would do if it happened a second time

Store is not a clean. Sale items not in restocked. Beware some produce not the freshest. Buy only as you need or you end up having to toss, wasting valuable dollars. Deli needs to learn how to slice meats, especially cheese. A solid 1lb block of crumbling American cheese is also a great way to waste a dollar. Tossing food into a plastic bags randomly, without any thought, doesnt help fragile, expensive produce. Test your carts before you wheel, unless you want to meet some friendly fellow shoppers. Shaws / Star Market Quincy is the worst store around. Hasnt been remodeled since the 90s and it shows. The store is filthy smells and is ugly. The staff are rude and bum looking. The prices are outrageous and always high. There produce are always rotten and dirty. HORRIBLE PLACE STILL

I only go there due to it being close. Prices are horribly expensive and checkout lines are always long. Seems like the management loves to save money by under staffing. Im not sure what Im paying such high prices for then... where does all the money go?

I get all my weekly groceries here and Ive never had a problem. Produce is good and shelves are stocked. Staff is generally helpful but I do wish they would open up more lines when its rush hour but the wait is still not terrible.

Though not really ever super crowded, they never have enough registers open and as a result, many people attempt to use the 12 items or less register which in turn creates delays for people trying to grab only a few things quickly

This one has almost everything from postal stamps to vegetables (organic as well). One star less because the parking space outside is not clean and is really a mess after it snows. Also it might be a bit costly.
