Dyno Records is a real vintage record store, and I dont mean that they have just "vintage" or second-hand merchandise, although they do have those things along with new releases. Its vintage in the sense that its not huge, impersonal and overwhelming like the big box stores are. When I was in there before Christmas, the place was bustling. The clerk was taking special orders, helping people find things, and making recommendations. I liked the selection that was available and the atmosphere in the store, and I walked out of there with two CDs as presents, feeling relaxed and accomplished -- Christmas shopping had actually been enjoyable! Its hard to find a store like this nowadays, and Itll be a sad day if small record stores like this ever disappear completely.

I used to go into this store to browse and sometimes to buy whenever I was in Newburyport. A few years ago, I was out of a job and decided to apply around Newburyport and figured why not try to apply at this store, since I love music and grew up appreciating all genres. The owner was pretty rude. I was made to feel like an imbecile for even trying to inquire about a job. Since then, Ive stopped going in. There are better music stores. I would prefer to take my business to Bullmoose or Mystery Train where they have a better selection and a more laid back staff.

I love this place! The people who work there are always friendly and helpful and go out of their way to find anything for me - to include looking up locations of concerts! They have special ordered stuff for me and had it by the next day. The store might be small but they always seem to have what I want plus more! If you are looking for a huge warehouse of pop music, go to Best Buy...

Clearly the other review was written by the owner of this piece of s*** record store. The selection is small and overpriced. The owner is condescending and rude to customers. A not mentioned no return policy is the final nail in the coffin. If you are really looking for records goto Mystery Train, Newbury Comics, or The Record Exchange. Dont waste your time/money here.

Rude rude rude. Also a supposed "no return policy" even though it is not posted anywhere in the store or on the receipt. Bring your business elsewhere.
