My recent visit to West Concord Liquors Grand Wine Tasting has left me feeling extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome in the store. The owner of the store seems to enjoy "teasing/bullying me into purchasing something whenever I visit the wine tastings and, up until very recently have more or less taken it in stride, but I still feel some degree of pressure. Indeed, I purchased a $20 bottle of rum (not my favorite) at a tasting last year as I felt pressured to do so. I visited the wine tasting last weekend alone as my husband was home doing work and I have no friends to join me. As I was visiting the various stations, the owner(no surprise) approached me and said that he hoped I was going to buy something and that he had his"eye on me". Again I took it in stride, but texted my husband just the same to come over soon so that we could purchase something as I felt some degree of pressure. I visited all of the stations only ONCE while I waited for my husband and ONLY drank white wine selections. After visiting all of the stations and still no sign of my husband, I waited outside of the store for him as I did not feel free to leave until I purchased something. After a while, my husband finally showed up and when I walked back in with him to show him the wines I liked and to possibly have another one or two tastings to confirm, the owner approached me and asked me to turn in my glass. I was shocked and embarrassed! I was neither inebriated nor causing a disturbance. I had mostly been keeping to myself, waiting for my husband and having polite conversation with one or two acquaintances that I saw there. However, the owner treated me like a garden variety alcoholic. I felt I was in a no- win situation that afternoon. If I left the store without buying something, I would have been reprimanded, but when I waited around for my husband so that we could buy something, I was treated like an individual who had a problem with alcohol. I want to make it perfectly clear that I do NOT and NEVER have had a drinking problem, but that day the owner treated me like an alcoholic and thus, I am now too embarrassed and ashamed to enter the store.

With todays technology and resources, there is absolutely no need for a store to turn a customer away due to an out of state ID. Especially from a state that is about twenty minutes north of that liquor store. There are scanners and books that can verify my ID. Plus, considering theyre so close to NH, Im sure they get NH IDs frequently, and could learn what they look like just as easily. I just moved into town and havent had the chance to get a MA license yet, but even when I do, Ill never attempt to shop here again. What made me even more angry about being turned away was that the cashier actually let the person ahead of me buy alcohol WITHOUT an ID. The guy told him he "forgot" it, and the cashier let him buy it anyway. Immediately after I whip out my ID and am told no out of state licenses. Well good job at being behind on the times. Youll never receive my business, or the business of anyone in my company, for as long as I live here. Thank you for the friendly welcome to town. I hope you lose a lot of business.

We used West Concord Liquors for our wedding. It was such a wonderful experience! Chris and Joe were so, so helpful and they were absolutely lovely to work with. They were very patient with us, helping us select wines, beers, and liquors for the wedding, and they helped choose and provide all the other necessities for the wedding as well. They didnt mind our numerous changes, even at the last minute, and they went out of their way to make the day perfect. The process was just so pleasant, and theyre just wonderful people. If youre looking for a really pleasurable way to make an event great, use West Concord Liquors! Ill be coming back again for sure.

We used West Concord Liquors event service and had a great experience. The folks on the phone were very friendly and helpful. They took a detailed order, estimated quantities for us (we had plenty of everything), delivered and picked up the unopened bottles at the end so we only paid for what we used. They did forget our gingerale at first, but we just called to let them know and they brought it over. They had everything we asked for including some fancy scotch, Pimms, and our favorite off the beaten track beer. They were really easy to work with; Id use them again happily!

I recently moved to California and the one thing i miss most is West Concord Liquors with their great selection, wisdom and value! Chris really saved the day when I had a last minute Sole "makeup" dinner with my girlfriend. Having no clue what wine would work, he helped me pick the perfect bottle for the special night. That day we were aghast when Tom Brady went down; their beer selection provided a real shot in the arm. Summer time margaritas? no problem, great tequila at nice prices. Support your local business!

I went looking for an obscure liquor called Fernet Branca for a gift and couldnt find it anywhere. I heard through a coworker in Lexington that this store had a good selection of wine so I checked it out. I couldnt believe how much stuff they had for a little store (liquor, wine and beer)- and I used to be a bartender. I often go out of my way (from Weston) to pick up some wine there b/c of the selection and friendliness of the staff. Worth checking out!! (Oh yea they had the Fernet Branca...)

These guys have a ton of different wine and beer. My husband and I have been here serveral times and were impressed by the selection they have. They have a nice wine guy who was willing to show us wine in our price range, and without the snobby attitude of some other places around here. They didnt try and make you spend a ton of money on a bottle but rather wanted to give you something decent at a good price - different then what Ive found at other places around here.

This is a wonderful store with a uniques selection of special wines. These wine are selected not only for quality but for price. I have been going here for years and rely on my "wine guy" Chris Saia who has learned my taste and price point. He will direct you to a wine that is the best value rather than the highest price. They also have lots of specials at very affordable prices and wines that have the highest value. I do not shop anywhere else. Highly recommend.

I have been a customer of West Concord Wine and Spirits for eight years. The store is perfect for finding the more unusual gifts and placing special orders. My most recent (today) is a special order for a case of 24 mini-champagne bottles. The staff not only placed the order for me, but promised to deliver it to my home at no extra cost. NOTE: I dont drink alcohol myself, but I still enjoy shopping for family and friends there.
