I tried shopping at L&T in Boston two days in a row to use some gift certificates that I had received over the holidays. The first day was insane, there were customers standing in line waiting for a 2 sales associates just to try on shoes, I waited for over 40 minutes just to hear that all three pairs I had picked out were sold out in my size. I gave up and went back the next day to find about 8 people working and hardly anyone shopping. I was relieved to see the store had settled down, but extremely disappointed when I had to seek help of one of the chatting sales girls to assist me with my size. It was like they couldnt be bothered from their intense gossip sessions. I left the store empty handed, for the second day in a row. I am sad to say I will never go back to that store again. Although they do have a nice selection of goods, I will not recommend this store to anyone.

This review is specific to the Estée Lauder counter. I have actually had great service everywhere else in this store. I am in wanting to buy a specific concealer and get their gift with purchase. She helped me find the right color for my skin and suggested I get their amazing eye pencil as well. I agreed and she went to get the items. It turns out that they didnt have any more of my color in the concealer and supposedly it was last day of the gift offer. She recommended that I buy the concealer in another shade and come exchange it when the new color came in on Wednesday. I agreed and came back and they were still out!!! It was extremely frustrating and honestly didnt have time to come back a third time. Returned the concealer, a different salespeople was apologetic and nice enough to let me keep the gift. I went to Macys and got what I wanted.

I went to the L&T store in Boston to look for a watch. Not any of the store assistants were friendly. The one I asked to help me to buy a watch said she cannot leave her spot and told me to get help from someone else. The one who was finally helping me said "These are all the Casio Watches we have" by pointing to a case with FIVE watches. Ridiculous! I asked her if they could potentially order the model I was hoping to get and she said no. Her explanation was she doesnt know the inventory number of the model I wanted and told me to order it online. After this terrible experience I left and I will certainly not go back to this store.

The products they sell are good quality and can compete with Macys. There customer service and policies can not. For example most of there online sales are not the same or accepted in stores and vice versa. There online store is almost a separate entity to the retail. Macys will ship an item to you or a store for free if they dont have it in stock at the location, Lord and Taylor will not. If you can find what you are looking for in store its generally a little cheaper at full price than Macys.

I ordered an item that never arrived. When I contacted them I was told that it had to go to the "Service Excellence" department and it can take 7-10 business days for them to get to me. Are you kidding me?? I would not call that "Service Excellence" I would call that LACK of service excellence. By the way, I called 4 times, sent an e-mail and spent at least an hour and 20 minutes of my time doing so. I have contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge. Order at your own risk!!

If they had self-service checkouts, they might be friendlier and more available than the associates in this location. Tried to shop there on two separate days (weekday and weekend) and only because I badly needed some things, then found some clothes on a really good markdown, did I even make a purchase. Not the store Im ever going to make a plan to come back to. Couldnt even find clothes in normal guy sizes, such as strellson, to buy, and I wanted to buy some new fashionable clothes.

My daughters and I were shopping this past Wednesday trying to coordinate an outfit for a special occasion. We had the pleasure of being helped by Betty J. WOW. What an absolutely lovely, pleasant, and gracious woman!! We went shopping after having worked all day long, Betty made our shopping experience easier. Lord and Taylor is always well organized and they seem to take a lot of pride in how their store looks. I specifically like their jewelry and handbags…even if I cant afford their handbags. They also have really great sales (most recently, 50% off most coats and jackets for the start of fall).

Was with a friend getting a suit....I was shopping shirts.....the first guy was nice but walked away second guy seemed to not care at all....overly arrogance is gone as an upper class posh attitude.... There is nothing there thats better than other shops in the Prudential but better service...

Store looks clean and good, just got remodeled. Seems like someone is doing a good job with their visual displays. But one sales woman was so rude the most recent time that I went shopping that I decided I couldnt go back. The company is great but that employee really ruined it for me.

One of the best shopping places on Boylston Street. Newly renovated space but, affordable and high end selections. This store has options for everyone. Most people are intimidated by this store but, prices are awesome especially if there are sales. Check it out !

Poor management. The customer first approach is lost. Floor staff is not properly supported by the managers who are too caught up in paperwork and operational duties to provide an upscale shopping experience. Sad to see. They have a great clothing selection.

The assistant took more than 30 mins. They worked so inefficiently! They did not know where the clothes were! I was so bored. I hate this shop and I did not have a pleasant time. I dozed off there. I dont know how the shop has survived this long.

Nice store with pretty good selection of clothing. The departments are well organized and well stocked, a pleasant shopping experience. Easy to get in and out without having to go all the way through the Pru (its not connected to it).

L&T is a mall store with a nice selection of everything you need if you forgot something or you were invited to event at the last minute! Do take look at their sales, you wont be disappointed.

Store is okay. But I head a horrible experience with the customer service when my online order went wrong. I think Nordstrom is comparable and does a better job with online orders/services.

The store itself is nice, but the sales people are a different story. I was met by 2 very rude sales people in the intimate apparel section. There was also no one there to help me.
