Not a very showy place, but boy do they make up for it with the food! I dont know if the gentleman running the place is the owner or not, but he bent over backwards to make us feel appreciated and wanted. Since we werent familiar with the cuisine, he took the time to explain it all to us before we ordered. We took the food to go. All the containers sealed the food and sauces inside. No sloppy mess when we got to the truck. The portions were more than we expected considering the more than affordable prices for the entrees we ordered. I had the goat bryani (sp?) and my other half had the goat and spinach marsala. Neither one of us ever had goat and we were curious. The food exploded with flavor and spices like none we had before. The naan stuffed with homemade cheese complement the main course perfectly. And the goat? More tender than lamb and better tasting. Shalimars definitely proves an old adage right - never judge a book by its cover. We gave it a try not expecting much based on our first impression when we walked in. What we got was five-star service, a master chef quality dinner and all at a low budget price. When we feel like eating something other than the standard American fare or all-you-can-eat Chinese, we have a new place to eat - Shalimar. Theres so much on the menu we want to try, I have a feeling well be eating there quite often.

Wonderful food and exceptional service. The restaurant is very basic, but the food is amazing. My husband (who is a very fussy eater, and reluctant to try new things, and had never tried Indian food) said it was better than any Chinese food hed ever eaten. The lightest, fluffiest rice Ive ever had. The gentleman serving us took time to find out how spicy we wanted our dishes, and the results were perfect. Very friendly and attentive, but not overly intrusive, unlike some places where you seem to get interrupted every 5 minutes to be asked if everythings OK. I would thoroughly recommend Shalimar.

I absolutely love this place. I cant remember the guys name, but every time we go in, hes so nice and friendly. He has also answered any question Ive ever had about Indian food. Their Tikka Masala is fabulous, and the naan is always fresh. Everything, for that matter, is always fresh; nothing tastes frozen or pre-prepared, and its ready within 20 minutes or less. I only wish they were open on Mondays. You get so much food for the price. As far as being an Indian supermarket, its got everything Ive ever needed, and then some. And now that its eat-in, I believe Ill be visiting a lot more often.

excellent food. I usually call and order and pick up in 15 minutes. although its small but its one of the few places in America where you can get authentic lahori chanay(chickpeas). I eat their chanay at least one a week, as I used to do every weekend in Lahore.i love their Nann(taste like they were really made in clay oven). chicken karahi is very good. very courteous and nice people. they should improve their rice(they should use a different brand/boil it less,),their rice are usually overcooked/broken(unlike lahori food)

On google it only seems to be listed as a supermarket, but this is also a little restaurant. The food is consistently delicious, there is never much of a wait (we call in our order and can usually pick it up in under 20 minutes), and not only is everything very reasonably priced but the workers are extremely friendly. I love this place and the chicken tikka masala is amazing!

The customer service that we receive here is second to none. We go every month or so, and its always amazing. The staff are so kind and helpful, and they have even suggested that we try additional items (such as on the buffet) for free, just to see if we would like it! The food is amazing, and everything is made to order. I strongly suggest their tikka masala.

I ordered a take out on June 18th, 2016. The Biryani was worst. The rice were broken and looks like it was taken out from refrigerator putted in microwave and packed in to go box. I ordered chicken tikka and I found boneless chicken that was also not cooked properly. Overall it was a bad experience. Will not recommend.

We had the goat curry and lamb curry. Amazing food! Just the right amount of spice. Even better than the food (if possible) was the service! So warm and welcoming without being intrusive. They anticipated our every need. Will definitely be back. Very very satisfied customer!

super sweet people, very, very good food. goat biryani was perfectly cooked, goat was super tender and delicious, perfect amount of spice. service was excellent! very attentive and welcoming. my vegan sister was very excited by their extensive vegetarian options!

Really enjoy the lunch buffet and hot Nann bread that comes with it. Was our favorite place to go but it now has a new owner so we shall see if it measured up. The grocery section has closed and the prices have increased a bit.

Their tikka masala is AMAZING!!! Ive eaten at a lot of Indian restaurants and they have the best Ive ever tasted. At times, its hard to reach them over the phone. Otherwise, one of the best restaurants in Salisbury, Maryland.

5 stars seems horribly inadequate. Ive been all over the world but could easily move to Salisbury to be close to this fabulous, authentic restaurant. The CTM and palak panzer are out of this world. Wow, wow, wow! !!!!

I love their food. I went in to their little grocery store and went to the restaurant next door. Everyone was so nice and the food...ah the food was fantastic. I could eat their chicken kabobs every week. Yummy

We were in the middle of a long drive when we found this gem of a restaurant. Staff was courteous and food was delicious. The food here has the proper Indian taste which we crave for. We would visit again.
