Purchased a 1999 Mercedes Benz CLK430 from them on eBay (out of state in South Carolina), December 20, 2015, item was described as "This car is in good shape for the year and runs and drives as it should". Paid in full 1,830.00 via Paypal in 2 payments, 1,000.00 deposit and remaining 830.00 later that day, Dec. 22. Car was picked up by Lockwood Transport on the 23rd, delivered to me the same day, 10pm. Battery was dead in car (which was disclosed in auction). Driver and I put new battery in car which I purchased on Dec 22. Upon driving car off trailer, it would not exceed 20 mph nor shift out of any drive gear. Contacted "Bill" the seller, notified him of problem, he said take it to a repair shop to reset computer and he would put 100.00 towards the computer reset. Mechanic phoned on Dec 26 stating his systems could not communicate with the car, and that hed like another person to look at it - give him a couple more days. A few days later, 2 more mechanics later all came to the same conclusion that the computer (the main EIC - which would be 300.00 to repair - but would be no guarantee it would be the final fix - other computer systems could be damaged.) was damaged due to jump starting the car, and the last good codes they could pull from the car were in early December - when the seller "Bill" still had the car in his possession. I then notified "Bill" of the findings and he said hed give me an additional 150.00 to repair the EIC - in which I stated all the mechanics could not guarantee that would be the final repair but a potential stepping stone to other problems, if other systems were damaged from jump starting at the dealership. Bill and I had numerous conversations after this, I stated you had to have known this car was broken, etc., and that I just want a car that runs and drives as it should. Hes a large dealership he said, selling 6-7 million dollars a month in cars, and that he has over 400 cars in inventory, and for me to look at the inventory list he emailed me to find a comparable car to swap the MB with. He emailed me the list, I highlighted 20 or so cars, and said any of those would be fine - so long as they operate properly. From there, he no longer responded to my calls or texts, I gave him a week to get back to me or I will file complaints and Small Claims. Whats worse, Ive been sold a car that doesnt work, I cannot sell the car, and never received a TITLE to the car either.

I bought my current car from The Used Car Factory in October 2013. I made the trip down from NY to MD because they had the car that I wanted at a really great price. I primarily worked with Hank Robinson, a salesman, and Philip Burroughs, who I believe is the owner of the dealership. Both were extremely helpful throughout the purchasing process and I couldnt be happier with the purchase. The only issue that I had with the transaction (which Philip personally helped me resolve as soon as possible), was that the stereo did not output any sound to the speakers. When I finally got the car home and could inspect the stereo system in greater detail, I realized that the reason there was no sound was because someone before me had removed an amplifier by cutting all of wires. I immediately sent Philip and email including pictures of what I had found. He apologized profusely, understood my position and asked me to let him know how much the estimate was so that he could have it corrected. I went to a local shop and got an estimate to have all the speaker wiring re-done, including a new amplifier (since the car was supposed to have one from the manufacturer). I sent Philip the quote and he promptly sent me a check to cover the repairs a few days later. I am extremely happy with the car, their customer service and their commitment to my satisfaction. Despite this one hurdle, I still highly recommend them for your next used car purchase, and I would definitely consider making the trip down to purchase my next car if they happen to have what I want (whenever that may be).

I saw the vehicle I was interested in on Craigslist. I never heard of these guys, but I gave them a try. I spoke with both Brian and Donny on the phone and they answered all my questions about the car, therefore I decided to look at the car the next day. When I arrived, the car was ready for my review. The car was in outstanding condition. I test drove the car and liked the way it drove. It was extremely clean inside and out. I noticed there was an slight alignment issue which was immediately taken care of by Dave the mechanic. They did not push me to purchase the car, no heavy handed sales effort. They were very patient with me. They provided me the CarFax which showed it was a one owner car with all required services done to the car. I called them back the next day to purchase the car. When I arrived, the alignment was perfect on the car. I took it for another spin and everything was as promised. We agreed upon a price in short order and then I traded in my 03 Suburban, which they gave a me very fair trade offer. My new car was then taken back for the Maryland State inspection to be completed. The vehicle was detailed in short order and looked great. I then dealt with Steve in finance to pay for the car. It was really easy, they did not try and sell me any extras - no coating, no warranty which I find refreshing. I said goodbye to my old car and drove home my 2009 Pontiac Vibe.

Fantastic Car Buying Experience In my opinion Donnie is the best car salesman ever!! He is very patient, professional, and just an overall nice guy. My husband and I purchased a 2005 645ci BWM on April 2, 2014. When my husband initially informed Donnie of the car he wanted, Donnie searched for a car and did not stop until he found a car that was everything my husband wanted. Eventually, Donnie found the car in Florida and he babysat the transport of the car from Florida to Maryland as if the car was for himself or as if we were his only customers. My husband called Donnie so much that everyone at the Used Car Factory new his name (lol lol) but at no time was he ever made to feel that he was a nuisance. Everyone at the Used Car Factory - Phil, Steve, Donnie, Lamar, and Troy make buying a used car a delightful experience. They are all very honest and defy the negative "used carsalesman" title. We have informed many of our family and friends of the Used Car Factory and have already decided that all of our future car purchases will be from the Used Car Factory. P.S. - I am having a hard time getting my husband to come in the house; either he is in the car or standing outside looking at it - thanks Donnie LOL LOL!!! P. McRae
