Today marks the 4TH time in recent history have had issues with Katzen. I have had smaller issues in the past that I over looked, but the last 2 months have been unbelievable. The first issue I experienced was about 2 months ago when I arrived for a scheduled appointment. After checking in and waiting 1 hour, I asked how much longer it would be. The receptionist then exclaimed that they had forgotten all about me and they would see me promptly. About 30 minutes later I got to see the doctor. After 2.25 hours I walked out of the office with a trial prescription. The next time I had an issue was when I received my trial contact lenses. After getting my contact lens fitting, the optical department ordered my trial lenses. I had to wait 3 weeks before someone called and said they had arrived. The third time I had issue was when I went back for my trial contact lens fitting check. After waiting for some time for he doctor I complained that the trial lenses the optical department ordered were very uncomfortable and didnt feel like my prescription. Sure enough he checked and they had ordered my the wrong lens set. The doctor went and got the correct ones and asked me to put them on. There I sat with my new trial lenses waiting for someone to return, but no one did. I finally left after about an hour later. I received a call later that day from the doctor who apologized and ordered me a new set of trial lenses for me to try. Today was the latest twist in this long saga. After going to see the doctor to get my final fitting and prescription today, I tried to order my contacts from a popular contacts website. After searching for a bit I determined that the prescription I was given was not available. I called the optical department who apologized for giving me the wrong prescription. The numbers they claim, were entered into the system incorrectly (for both eyes??) The only reason I stayed with them for so long is because the doctor seemed knowledgeable, but I refuse to provide this place with any more of my business. The amount of people over crowding the waiting room, inaccurate prescriptions, the attempts to quickly usher you in and out, lack of quality controls, and the long wait times to be seen show me that they are not concerned with my health but with cramming as many patients as they can into their day to maximize their profit.

Dr Bret Katzen performed lasiks on me in September, 2012. I can not tell you how well I can see and how sorry I am I waited so long to do it. I could literally see road signs in the distance on the ride home and was watching T.V. that night. I drove myself to the visit the morning after because I FELT great and I could see GREAT ! Since then, my vision has gotten even better. It is such a pleasure to open my eyes in the morning and see everything…CLEARLY! It was also a pleasure to visit this office and interact with the professionals that work there. I never waited at all, not at the evaluation, not at the pre-op and not on the day of surgery!!! Everyone was cheerful, helpful, informative, patient and accommodating. I managed to put this to the test my first visit when I took off work on the wrong day by accident and asked to be seen that morning instead. This was no problem at all according to the likable and cheerful receptionist! Each professional on this staff was patient and took time with me, making sure I had a full understanding of the process and outcomes so that I could make an informed decision. This experience was 100% positive. Financing is made easy, affordable and worth every penny especially since I am no longer buying glasses, contacts, contact solution… I have been fighting with glasses and contacts for over 30 years. Contacts made my eyes tired and red but I hated wearing glasses. Lasiks is ABSOLUTELY WONDERfUl as was my experience with the Katzen eye group

I wouldnt recommend coming here to anyone! I am so upset with the service that was provided to me. First let me say I have used Dr. Anthony Kameen before they merged with Katzen Eye group. I am going on my THIRD Lasik surgery, because my eyes just arent the way they should be. I was told they will perform a third surgery in maybe two years so, what am I to do in the mean time? Turns out being a "perfect candidate" means absolutely nothing. I honestly feel as though this company cares more about money than customers. I am just over a year past my second surgery and my eyes are constantly giving me problems, I went to an optometrist and I was notified one eye is different than the other and that is what causes these miserable headaches I have day in and day out, the only way to fix the headaches is to wear glasses. So here I am back to square one getting glasses again. I asked them to pay for my glasses since this is something I shouldnt have had to go through after paying a small fortune but they declined my request with a very generic email. The strange part is now I can not get anyone to email me back after I asked to speak to the "COO" and Manager myself. I almost would have rather gone to a "Lasik for $199 an eye" company so I wouldnt be out 11x that amount. Hopefully this review can help me get in contact with someone that actually cares....

One of the reasons that I went to Katzen was that they offered Saturday appointments. I managed to get the last appointment for a Saturday afternoon, but the doctor seemed disinterested and clearly didn’t want to be there, and spent less than 5 total minutes with me. I was a little frustrated, but I need to see so I purchased contacts and a new set of glasses. I was told that there was a $60 manufacturer rebate form that I could fill out once the lenses came in. The price was the same as 1-800-Contacts, so I figured I would spend my money on a local business instead of an internet chain. What a mistake. The lenses showed up, but the person at the desk could not find the form for my lenses, so they gave me a random form for a different type of lens from the same manufacturer. Obviously, the manufacturer did not accept this, and when I tried to go back to get the correct form, they told me they had no record of that company ever giving a rebate and that there was nothing that they could do for me, even though there was a stack of the forms for other lens types by the same manufacturer in the drawer. Now I am out an additional $60 on top of all the money that I already spent there and I will never go back.

If I could give this practice zero stars, I would. My experience was bad from start to finish. The receptionist was incredibly rude and dismissive, ignoring my arrival and doing her best to avoid interacting with me or her surrounding co-workers. The technician that completed my eye exam was also rude and told me I was "worse than a child" because I shifted while he was changing the letters on the screen. The next leg of the visit took an absurd amount of time. I was seen by yet another technician who added dilation drops and ran some other tests. She wasnt very personable but she was out right rude, which was a nice change of pace... After she left, I waited in the exam room for well over 30 minutes. Not realizing this visit was going to take over 2 hours, I had to leave for a work meeting. I wandered around the empty hallways until I found someone who told me the Dr. had one more person ahead of me. Had I waited, I would have been seen after waiting for more than two full hours. I left before I was seen by an actual doctor. Dont waste your time here. Unless you enjoy miserable people and have an extra 3-4 hours to kill one day, I highly recommend going to a different eye doctor.
