I dont frequent this shop much but i never detailed my experience with the adoption program that petsmart sponsors. I had a horrible time trying to adopt a dog from one of the worst, most talkative employees I have ever met. She didnt want to work she just wanted to socialize. The whole time there was a waste as we didnt adopt anything because of her! She just wouldnt shut up. The adoption agency also seems to make potential pet owners "jump through hoops" to adopt. Even though we had not recently owned a pet ourselves, they expected us to already have a relationship with a vet in our neighborhood and requested paperwork from our apartment leasing office stating we could own pets. They just make it very difficult to adopt a pet. We went to a neighboring shop that sells dogs and didnt have to go through any of the hastle. Its sad that they are keeping people from adopting dogs that need a good home. We didnt purchase a dog however and just adopted from elsewhere that actually made it fun to adopt and we left with our dog the same day. Please make sure that your employees are there for the animals, not themselves.

I took my one week old kitten in with the mama cat to Banfield. They added the kitten to the mothers account. When he went in to get neutered, the clerk added the services to my daughters account. We are two separate adult clients and the clerk assumed that since we were related, it was okay to just add our pets interchangeably to each others accounts. When I took the cat in for neutering, they made me show at 7:30 a.m. The Banfield clerk was an hour late in my assessment appeared hungover or possibly intoxicated. I have spent hours on the phone, writing the corporate office. The clerk was an hour late said that my daughter instructed them to blend the accounts and to change the name of the cat on the account. They wont fix it. And they would rather not fix it then get paid. Neither of us has received a bill (that I know of because the bills were sent to her if at all) and though weve tried to get it straight, they wont respond. Further, they wont let anyone have copies of pet records which is fine, since weve printed them. But when we called for a date on something they wouldnt answer.

Very disappointed in the grooming session at this Rockville location. I paid for the full wash and brush, teeth cleaning, nail grind, and ear cleaning. When I picked my dog up, he did not smell that great, and seems like he wasnt brushed thoroughly, left ear was filthy and his nails seems ragged and just clipped not smoothly grinded. Also his teeth seemed to be unclean. I will NEVER go back to this location again. The only reason i took my dog for grooming at PetSmart was the results I saw from my friend who took my dog for grooming, I believe at the Gaithersburg location while he was watching him for a couple months. The same price, same service and 100% different results and quality. When my friend brought my dog back his fur was shinning with limited shedding, smelling great, ears CLEANED , teeth sparkling, and nails SMOOTHLY grinded I decided to take him back. But the Rockville store is not the same store. ROCKVILLE PETSMART GROOMING IS THE WORST. Do not take your dog there. Cathy was the groomer. One of the managers did offer a full refund which was nice.

Grooming: It was one of the most horrible experience my dog had at their grooming center. My one year old dog was completely healthy before going there and right after the check out, his nail was bleeding. I returned the dog over there again and they said that nail bleeding is very common (?) and etc. I was not happy whit what I paid over there and when we returned home we found a tick on one of our puppys leg. We do not know if he got the tick in the grooming center or not! We tried to take the tick out and some remained on his leg so we went to ER and they completely removed that and they charged us $45 again. Then the day after our puppy was shaking all the time and he tried to crawl in the grass due to his itchy body...again we took him to the vet and they charged us for the spray...Anyhow, I think they did not wash him well probably and they cut his nail definitely. The personnel were nice but I was not convinced by their poor performance and all difficulties, time and cost they created for me.. So I do not recommend this grooming place for your puppy.

November 17, 2011. Went to have my dogs nails clipped with some trepidation after reading the other reviews, but the groomers were very kind, caring of my dog and responsible. The young lady who helped me did a good job. My dogs nails were bothersome to me, but she said they were on the border line for clipping. So she used a sander tool to take the edge off without trying to cut anything too close for her discomfort. Id say that was quite thoughtful and responsible. So based on this experience, Id also say that this group has improved considerably since the previous reviews. Ill take my dog there again. By the way - the staff dog trainer, Amanda, at this Pet Smart is very good and I recommend her highly for taking a training classes for your puppy/dog.

Horrible salesmenship, and overal charisma. I went in a few weeks back to get a tank for gold fish. One person sold me on a 5 gallon tank and told me to wait until the water was ready to come buy a fish. I can back today one for a sales person to ask what? What do you want and then just say no to the gold fish. Basically walking away until I asked why. I could have very well gotten a fish but with that attitude why bother?! Majority of the workers here dont want to be there. No wonder theyre always employing.

I went to the grooming salon to get a pawdecure for my dog and the FULL pawdecure package is nail trim, nail grind, trim and pad shaving, ear cleaning, scented cologne and bandana or bow. All I got was a nail grind and trim and ear cleaning. I did not receive a full pawdecure that I was paying $20 for so I went back and told the lady that she was missing things and with an attitude and her rolling her eyes she did it but very rudely. Do your job right the first time!

9/14/13 to all rat lovers in the dc area, this is the place to go instead of all the way to Frederick to get a socialized rat. theres a really nice worker there named sharron who legit cares for the rats, and takes care for them as good as a breeder. she answered all my questions, showed me that rats she currently takes care of, and then some. these rats were such a contrast to the petsmarts by the target close to cherry hill road, who gave you the stink eye.

I called the store to have them check and see if an item was in the store. Simple enough? No. The person on the phone lied to me saying they had found the item. When i asked for the price a manager picked up the phone and scolded me on the fact that the person I was talking to before was a cashier and thats not her job. He then proceeded to confirm the person before had lied to me and was very rude the whole time. Disappointing
