This is a horrible store. I hate to jump the bandwagon here, but there really isnt too much good to be said about this place. The ONLY reason I ever shop here is because you really cant beat their prices on everyday items in most cases, and this is especially important for a broke college student like myself. However, thats all this Wal-Mart has going for it. The store is always a mess, pallets laying everywhere, and there are always some aisles where its literally impossible to push a cart through. Lines are RIDICULOUS. I mean, come on, this is a freaking WAL-MART, and a high-volume one at that, you cant honestly tell me they cant afford to schedule a few more cashiers. Ive been in here multiple times, and only twice have I waited less than 25-30 minutes in line. Its not uncommon to see only two registers open with lines stacked up back to the clothing section, each person with a relatively full cart. Speaking of cashiers, almost all of them are extremely slow and rude. I understand that employees really dont care, and that those smiles, "thank yous", etc. are all fake, and I normally dont care too much about "service", so to speak. However, I dont appreciate being treated like Im wasting an employees time. There was ONE exception, I was checked out one night by a very, very pleasant lady, who I now look for whenever I go to check out, but she apparently must not work very often or just never when I come in. Managers are nasty as well. I finally got fed up with spending more time sitting in line than actually shopping, and wanted to complain. I wanted the STORE manager, because I know that nobody below him/her really cares. However, the front-end manager on duty basically refused to get the store manager, and then acted like I was wasting HIS time with my complaint. Um, hello, I didnt even want to talk to YOU about it to begin with! Bottom line - Horrible store, and if I wasnt on a tight budget I would certainly NOT shop here ever again.

I Moved to Urbana, Maryland, just south of Frederick, in late August of 2011, and have been shopping at this Wal-Mart Supercenter ever since. It is a little bit older and smaller than the Supercenter near my old house in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where I came from, but it is still nice inside and out. This store has everything I need or want at reasonable prices, the employees and casheirs are usually friendly and helpful, and the store is usually clean and well kept. The only issues I have had is the lack of open casheirs during the non-peak hours that I usually shop at, and the quality and service of the Subway Restaurant in the store is not that good, the Subway in Urbana is better and closer to my house, but that is not really Walmarts fault. The prices are so much more reasonable than Giants, usually half the price or less, so Its worth driving a little further to this Walmart, as opposed to the nearby Giant in Urbana. I hope we get a Walmart in Urbana eventually, as it is a youthful, fast growing, vibrant community. Anyway, this Walmart Supercenter is quite a convenience for us, and not too far, only five miles or so away, and is the nearest Walmart store of any type to our house, and bigger and better than the Germantown Walmart, the next closest one, although that one might be expanded into a Supercenter soon, and I sure hope it is, as we often commute and run errands there in the Montgomery County (South) direction, as opposed to the Frederick city (North) direction. So, for now, the South Frederick City Walmart Supercenter is both the nearest one to our house, and the best Walmart in the immediate area.

All the negative reviews here are all true. The quality of this store has declined ever since it opened in early 2000. Merchandise are always in disarray. They never have enough employees in each department. Most often than not, there really is no employee in most of their departments, so you have to flag someone else which is frustrating when you dont have much time to wait. Their employees seem unhappy working there, so its no wonder some give poor customer service. Its hit or miss. Mostly MISS! ...just gotta grin and bear it since I like Wal-Mart for its low price and convenience. I just wish they were more cohesive when it comes to quality and service. The store itself is looking ghetto and untidy. Floors are dingy and they do skimp on the AC. It is always too warm in there which is not conducive for shopping longer. Never enough cashiers even though they are ALWAYS busy. I cannot wait until the new Wal-Mart is built over by the Golden Mile. Meanwhile, I would rather shop at the Monocacy Blvd. store whenever possible. Come on Wal-Mart, get your act together.

Worst Walmart ever. Their parking lot is a cluster screw to get through, the cashiers dont speak English or speak poor English or they just dont care. Ive been in here multiple times to get one or two things and I cant get out in under 45 minutes, even in the express lane. I literally had the experience that a couple in front of me had to wait for nearly 45 minutes alone because the manager almost refused to come adjust a price that was on sale, even after the cashier left to confirm the price herself. Then another person confirmed it, then she finally came over, took two seconds to do it, and left. Didnt apologize, didnt address the customers, didnt say anything. Worst customer service ever. Meanwhile, I was behind them with bananas and that was it. It took nearly an hour and a half for bananas. WORST Walmart EVER. Lousy managers, lousy cashiers, dirty store, horrible parking lot, and lousy lighting. This store doesnt even deserve one star!

Me and my new wife dropped off disposable cameras there to be sent out for development. The photo department was suppose to call us when they came in. The first person told us they didnt no how long it would take. So 2 and half months came no call. So we went up there and they told us the photos came in but since you didnt come pick them up they through them away. 3 cameras full of wedding pictures. no phone call ! no nothing! Now I will have to say an assistant manager is trying to help us get try and get something back from the company that develops the film. But the people in the photo area didnt care at all. almost brought my wife to tears.

Worst Walmart Ever!!! Ive been shopping at Walmart for 15 years. Ive been to stores in Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, and Indiana. This Walmart is by far the worst store I have ever been to. The store is dirty, the employees are rude, the lines are incredibly long, and the cashiers cant be bothered to even acknowledge to you. I once waited in line for 35 minutes at 10:30 at night because no one wanted to open a second register. I hate this place so much that I drive 15 miles out of my way to the Walmart in north Frederick. They should close this store, fired all of the employees, and start over.

I dont like walmart in the first place, but this one took the cake. We just moved to the area and needed some move in supplies and figured walmart would be the fastest way to get everything we needed. What a mistake! after navigating through the overcrowed store we arrived in a group of long lines at the registers. No efforts were made to open more registers the 45 minutes - hour we stood there. After spending over $300 we were so relieved to be heading to our car only to be stopped by The Door Nazi. She was rude and treated us like we were trying to steal the merchandise we just paid for! WALMART STINKS NEVER AGAIN!!!
