I like Wegmans in some ways and in others ways I hate it. Coming here requires a lot of patience and a sense of humor. The store is generally very crowded and it is hard to get anything quickly. Along with a crowd that moves with the grace of a frozen jelly fish, the signage does not permit quickly finding anything. When you do find the aisle you are looking for, the selection can be very underwhelming, almost like a trick. For example, the selection of coffee is thin. The good stuff, they have a little of almost everything and if you are looking for something out of the usual, I suspect you will find it here. They have an above average selection of kosher products. The bad stuff, can be pricy, sometimes Whole Foods is less. It is very hard, almost impossible to run in and grab something and run out. It is more of a destination, like hey honey lets go buy food on Sunday. It is NOT a hey honey can you grab milk on the way home. Also, reported a handwashing violation to management when I was there last time. The offending party was permitted to continue serving food. No visible action was done after I spoke to the supervisor and the 10 minutes or so that I hung around to see if they would react. Consequently, I avoid the hot food, buffet line, burger bar, and that general area. To be specific he employee was working the fryers that are sort of at the corner of the burger bar and the deli. All things being equal, blah, whatever . . .

Wegmans carries food from simple to sophisticated. Meat, seafood and deli are among the best around, there are many ready-to-cook prepared options in different quantities. The produce department has a huge variety of regular and organic fruits and veggies, presliced packaged veggies for cooking, and a large salad and olive bar. There are cheeses for every taste, and the bakery actually bakes in store, and their fresh baked breads are often still warm when you pick them up. Prices are very reasonable, especially on their family-sized and "warehouse club" multiple packs. Wegmans carries everything a typical major grocer has, and more. There is an extensive deli and food bar serving hot and cold food, as well as a burger counter for those who want a good meal. Selections offer something for every taste and appetite. There is a huge upstairs dining area out of the way of people shopping, and free Wi-Fi. There is also a comprehensive catering service in house that can accommodate just about any size function. Wegmans is known for being a Disney World of food, and this new supermarket has something for everyone.

This Wegmans location opened in 2013 and is extremely popular. Weekend shopping can be a bit hectic, especially on the bottom level of the parking structure and inside the main entrance where the produce sections narrow and disjointed aisles create a bottleneck. The popularity also makes it difficult for the store to keep some products in stock and Ive found the quality of the produce to be somewhat hit or miss. On the positive side, the pre-made food and buffet options are quite impressive. They have everything from hand-rolled sushi to pizza. There are two levels of indoor seating and some outside seating as well. Wegmans typically stocks a wide ranging selection of basic to high-end products. By knowing where to look, you can find some pretty good deals. The loose tea selection is particularly exceptional and very affordable compared to the boutiques.

I would have to give this place different ratings for different categories. Food selection would be 4-5 stars. Price would be $$$$; unless things are on sale, they are definitely pricey. Service would be 5 stars; their employees really know their products. One time we asked if they had rose water. The random employee we asked, said so quickly, "Yes, aisle 14." Weve asked other employees other questions and boy, they really know their store. The prepared section is amazing. Definitely do not come here if youre hungry, cuz you will want to taste everything! Sushi selection is pretty good, for a grocery store. Theres an Indian food, Asian, Italian, Mexican and American food section. The cafe and dessert area is of course really quite good. If you have picky eaters in a group - - go here and everyone will be happy.

Went here to get some food at their cafe area, and buy a couple of grocery items. The food at the cafe was fantastic, my wife and I remarked if we ate that well at a restaurant it would cost four times as much. However, while the store has awesome boutique and hard-to-find items, it surprisingly lacked some of the items we were looking for (we typically shop at Safeway or Giant). We had to go to a different grocery store afterward to get what we missed. The aisles were actually close together, making for awkward transitions past other customers. The store has a dedicated parking garage, which it needs because there are so many people coming and going constantly. It is a real pain to get in or out of the parking garage, but you have no choice but to do it.

There is nothing that can accurately describe the experience of going to the Columbia Wegmans. People seem to shed all of their humanity and politeness when they drive into the parking lot. Inside, youll find people playing bumper carts, people walking right into you, people jumping in front of you to grab something. Its like all semblance of society has broken down inside these walls. Its really a sight to behold. Not a good place for someone with a fear of crowds. That being said, the fresh food half of this store is insanely fresh and delicious and you can walk out of that area with the freshest seafood, cheeses, breads, and more. From fresh truffles to snow crab legs, the food really is amazing.

Consider me a convert and loyal follower of the Church of Wegmans. My sister recently visited and I couldnt put my finger on what made Wegmans so special when trying to describe why its different. But it is. From the time you walk in the store, you are sucked into the spell. Although it has pricey frou frou items, it also has very reasonably priced groceries as well. The quality of the produce is top notch, which I cant say for any other local chain. I dont see out of date or near out of date items as I do from other stores. Love their smaller grocery carts. Check outs can be crowded from time to time, but at least they staff them when busy. And (like Safeway) the staff seems polite and helpful.

Daniel making sandwiches in the food court is extremely rude. While making my sandwich he said "mayo, mustard?" my was "yep". He replied in a loud angry voice "yep what!?". I told him wanted both and was answering his questions appropriately to the way he asked it. If he would have "mayo or mustard?" I would have replied "both" but since that is not what he asked replied according. This would have been a simple misunderstanding except he was rude about and continued to be rude the entire time. When he was done with my sandwich he handed it to me with an annoyed look on his face and didnt here you go or have a nice day or youre all set, nothing. What a jerk.
