I should have read the reviews about this place before coming in. I usually go to Arundel Mills location and have nothing bad to say about that one. Here people were so rude and they treat you as if you desperately need them and not that they need your business. There is a young guy with orange hair at the front desk who has given me the worst customer service Ive probably had for the past year or so. The wait is ridiculous long so dont make plans to come on your lunch break or during a set time frame even when you have an appt scheduled (actually, dont make plans to come here AT ALL). Speaking about appointment, mine was rescheduled THREE times, to which two of those were because they misscheduled the date and could not fit me in for at least another week, so coming in for my initial exam and then coming back for a follow up (contact fitting) was a nightmare and took me over a month to get finished with this. Also, they charge a significant higher amount if your eye exam show that you have astigmatism which I have not had it show on my previous eye exam but for some reason the first optometrist stated that I had Astigmatism only on my left eye and only a tiny bit (to where it barely made any difference, but enough for them to charge me more), so I paid the higher amount and after coming back and telling them that the lenses they gave me to try on for Astigmatism did not fit or feel comfortable on the eye that they said I have Astigmatism and so they took that off and gave me lenses without corrections for Astigmatism and those fit perfectly. End of story; I do not have Astigmatism but yet I had to pay more which just looks to me that this was a catch. I have to say that the lady at the front desk; Cathy and my last optometrist named Dr. Rainey were so extremely sweet, helpful and professional. However I do not recommend this location and do not plan on coming back here again.

I had an eye exam in June 2014 which was fine. The doctor at the time fitted me, but what really got to me was that when I was being checked out for glasses and contact lenses, the attendent was chit chatting with her co-worker, saying how shes not walking away from a $500+ sale. Being naïve at the time, I let it go and bought my glasses and contacts from this store. Fast forward to May 2016. My glasses got damaged so I just wanted to replace them. I looked for my prescription, couldnt find them. I called the store and asked if I could get a copy of the prescription I was given so that I could just replace them for now. I was told on the phone that the system was showing my prescription as expired. After some arguing, I was told I could come later and pick up a copy. I go to the store that same day and ask for my prescription. I was met with a lot of resistance, claiming that my prescription had expired and that it would be illegal for them to give me a copy of my health record. Let me repeat that - this location denied me access to my health record, claiming that it was illegal for them to give me MY record. The attendent then spoke with her supervisor, who said that I could have it as long as I would keep it for my own records, that no other store would fill the prescription because it was expired. This is a flat out lie. In Maryland, contact lens prescriptions are valid for 2 years and I stated this to them. They told me that glasses are different. I hope youre happy, VisionWorks, because you just lost a customer. Not just because you lied to me, but you denied me what is rightfully mine, just to try to get another sale.

I had my eye exam a week ago and purchased my glasses. I had waited for an hour after the exam, just to sit down to choose my lenses. Even after an unpleasant service, I purchased my glasses and wore it daily for 4 days. The glasses made me EXTREMELY dizzy so I wanted to see if I can get a re-examination. One of the employees scheduled me for a follow up today (10/3) and told me to be prompt @ 8:55 so that the doctor can see me first. I got there exactly at 8:57AM, and I was the first to walk in as soon as they unlocked the door. I signed myself in, and the employee told me that I had to wait until they got through the other patients because they had made an appointment first and I was just a "squeeze in." I questioned why they made an appointment for me in the first place, and the employee was playing he said, she said, blaming the fault on the other employee that was not there. On top of that, at this point, the doctor didnt even walk in yet. I didnt want to deal with another unpleasant service, so I asked for a refund. Before they gave me a refund, one of the ladies checked my axis again and wrote down a different number than my prescription. Im no expert, but Im assuming the dizziness was due to a wrong prescription. This aggregates me even further. If the employees were friendly and helpful, I would at least give them 2 stars. But since all employees were extremely unprofessional and rude, they deserve no more than a 1 star. If I could, I would give them an absolute zero.

RUN. They are scamming. Get a second opinion if they diagnose you with astigmatism. My entire household has been wrongly diagnosed with astigmatism by them. I went to replace broken glasses after being in an accident. With an injured back and head, I sat in the tiny uncomfortable waiting room watching a woman in a flared mini skirt sit with her skirt up, bare bottomed on a chair across from me and various people being tested on machines that were not cleaned between patients for half an hour wondering how often those chairs get disinfected. The doctor was rude and careless, she bumped the large injury above my eye with the mechanism used to see letters and acted as though I did something wrong when I explained that I was injured and asked her not to do it again. She examined me for all of 5 minutes and when I went to order glasses, I was told I have astigmatism despite not actually being given a test for astigmatism and got an attitude when I declined to pay extra for special lenses and was not permitted to order regular lenses. The whole process was really frustrating especially in my condirion. I had to pay for a below standard exam and could not get glasses because of their misdiagnosis and firm ambition to upsell. All of the glasses I saw were priced well over $120 a pair. The third and final disappointing experience my family has suffered at this location in the last year.

Absolutely horrendous! I needed to have two glasses done: one for reading, one for driving. I come back to pick them up, and what do I get? Two reading glasses with the same prescription, with BOTH left sides a completely erroneous prescription (the one sides lense was at least 2 cm thick mind you). Is it not obvious at first glance that a difference like that between two eyes should be easily reflected by the build of the glasses? The woman who found me my two pairs did not even apologize for making me come out 20 minutes into the neighborhood to pick the wrong pairs up. Another thing. Customer service? Absolute trash. You expect me to hold ever time I call you and wait 10+ minutes, while the minutes on my phone wastes away? I called twice, having to hold over 10 minutes both times. I called the third time, and I tell her that you had made me wait too long. She tells me there are customers ahead of me that needs taking care of, and I need to hold. I tell her I just need to ask her one question that would take 30 seconds max. She tells me I need to either wait or hang up and call later, and that she cannot help me right now. This place is absolute trash, please, save yourself the time, effort and sanity - and dont go here.
