Time spent reading this review may save you... on many levels. It is important to note that I entered this store at 7:20pm. It was empty except for the two employees. I dealt with the "general manager" named Jason. Jason started out by showing himself to be pleasant and possessing a measure of product knowledge. I came because my cellphone screen cracked and my original plan was to maybe purchase the simplest phone that was on sale. But Jason seemed like a nice enough person and he happily began taking me around to show me what they had in the store. I dont really know a whole lot about phones, but I was in the mood to buy something nice for myself so I asked for his opinion on what phone to buy. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and--long story short--I bought EVERYTHING he suggested. Now, while he worked with me, he frequently stopped to greet customers, ring up orders, compliment people on their clothing and assist the other employees. He was ALL OVER THE PLACE. I saw people enter after me and leave before me. I had been in the store now going on 2 hours. He was getting my phone set up and also "multitasking". I get it. Its retail. But THREE HOURS LATER when he called whoever needed to be called to get my phone turned on, the person on the line says, "Sorry, we are closed for the evening." By the way, the mall had also closed by then. It closed at 9pm and it was going on 10pm. To try to end this horrible story, Jason says, "Maam, the offices have closed but you basically have your new phone." I was in shock as I looked at my now disabled old phone and my still disabled new phone! He assured me that the phone worked. Now its 10:30pm and Im walked through a dark, empty mall ALONE trying to figure out how to get to my car. Once inside, I realized that NEITHER phone worked. I couldnt call for help. I returned the next day to get the problem rectified and--,after 3 MORE HOURS--Jason doesnt like my tone or my attitude and calls security! He refused to allow me to return into the phone or even enter saying, "This is MY store!" THIS! and I never cursed him out, pulled things off of the shelf or SCREAMED at the top of my lungs... all things I really wanted to do at that point. I ended up buying a whole new phone from a different retailer. Ive never had a problem with Best Buy, in fact, I finally left the mall and went to a larger one and they helped me tremendously. They were also shocked to hear of my experience. I would never recommend buying anything from the Best Buy Mobile site in Columbia mall. And if you do, keep it limited to cords, ear buds, etc. Lastly, deal with Jason cautiously... He appears friendly on the surface, but becomes hyper-emotional when held accountable for a failed or botched transaction. He is not well trained in the area of customer service!

The associates there were absolutely and unacceptably rude. They were condescending and hesitated to provide me with the information provided because "my parents needed to be there" (Im 20 years old and pay my own phone bill). All I asked for were for estimates and three associates stood awkwardly close to me, hesitating to answer me and making me feel like I was not qualified to ask for plan estimates. The experience was unprofessional and completely unpleasant.

They mislead. Be very cautious if you get a phone line added from there. Very unprofessional. Check everything before you sign the papers as you might be signing up for something they never explained. It took me over three hours to add a new phone line and I realized later that they had me also sign for an upgrade to my other existing line without informing.

Surprised at some of the previous comments! I found them to be very helpful and knowledgeable about the vast variety of phones and cellular plans. Since they dont work on commission (i.e, the number of phones or plans that they sell), they are NOT pushy, and seem to only want to help you make the best decision for your circumstances.

This place is awful. I HIGHLY recommend not going here. For some reason it was cheaper to upgrade my phone here instead of AT&T. I went thinking it would be an easy process done in under an hour. No I was wrong this entire process took 3 hours. WASTE OF TIME EMPLOYEES DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
