This store has management that discriminates. I havent been disrespected and humiliated publicly like that in my 35 years of life. Im a veteran and despite having worn my issued field jacket clearly displaying my 101st Airborne Division patches on both sides and the American flag on my right shoulder, I was judged and discriminated immediately at the front door by a manager who was insinuating that I was a potential thief because I had a beard, and dreadlocks, and maybe it was my skin tone that was colored just enough to make her feel uncomfortable, or the addition of the Indian scarf on (not Muslim, I just needed something warm for my neck, as I had just walked a mile in the snow on unplowed sidewalked to shop for food), all because I had a backpack on strapped securely to my back, clasped firmly and visibly in the front. Completely inaccessible to me under any circumstances other than me having to completely unfastening and removing the back entirely off of my back in order to sneak items into (pretty obvious). Yet I was asked to remove and leave my bag up front as I shopped at their convince. I replied respectfully, stating that I did in fact mind, because it was my bag with my personal items in it like my phone and wallet and it was secured on my back, inaccessible. She said that did matter and pressed me more to remove and leave my bag. I stood my ground and pointed out how bias that was considering how many other patrons were walking about the same establishment carrying bags, purses, and totes under their arms completely accessible and their wasnt any alarm of fuss about them having a bag on their person. Remind you I just walked a mile in the snow to spend my hard earned money on food I needed, and was only going to be able to carry what I could fit in my bag and carry in my arms. She continued to hold her position and I kindly told her at that point (picking my battles like a war hardened soldier knows to do) that she had just lost my business and that I would have no issues with walking through the snow 2 miles now in the other direction to shop at another establishment who didnt discriminate people based on their appearance or gender. I hope shes able to see the error in her judgement and finds it in her heart to not be so intolerant of others and take a more mindful approach to things that trigger her impulse to discriminate. I nor my friends or family will be returning with any of our business at this establishment from here on, as we do not support intolerance and judgement.

Family-owned vibe for those who prefer a local grocery. Too dingy for those who prefer brightly lighted, spacious conglomerates.
