Twice, I purchased items at Staples, only to discover when I returned home, that one or more items were missing from my shopping bag. Hmmmm? I had to return to the store to pick them up, a huge waste of my time and energy! Then I purchased a chair, for $315. I paid $10 to Staples to assemble the chair. When it was assembled, I came to pick it up, and was puzzled as to why the chair looked "collapsed". When I asked a sales assistant to look at the chair, because it did not look like it was assembled correctly, she rushed me out of the store, saying that it was fine, and to "adjust" the chair when I got home. When I got home, the chair could not be adjusted properly. I called Staples. Over the phone they could not give me adequate instructions to fix the position of the chair. They told me that my only remedy was to bring the chair back to the store. When I had time, weeks later, I brought the chair back to the store. An associate simply sat in the chair, and used levers to adjust the seat and chair back, and fixed the chair. Now why didnt the person I spoke with on the telephone give me these instructions? There was NO APOLOGY, no offer of assistance to get the chair back into my car. Do I like shopping at Staples? Not right now!

I went to the one at Bangor Mall in Bangor ME for an item on sale. Checked it at the computer in the store, still have plenty in stock with $1.50. After looked around and couldnt find them, I asked the manager. He asked to borrow my paper with the SKU number on it, then without looking at the paper he went to the printer area and read it. WTH, why didnt he read it in front of me, why did he hide to the little space and read the SKU without checking it on the computer. Then he walked to me said that: we returned them to the manufacturer but forgot to update it on the computer thats why it still shows on the computer. Nice, he didnt check the SKU on the computer and came up with that explaination. Im sick of the Staples store in Bangor ME

I still shop there from time to time if there is a deal or something on cheap office stuff but I was dismayed today when an average run of the mill Desk Top Calendar cost $24.99. Seriously thats what it costs to buy a simple calendar made out of paper and thin cheap cardboard. I had to bring it up to the counter and have them scan it because I thought that it was a pricing error. I didnt buy it.

I use the copy center and the young folks there do a first rate job on my projects. Very courteous too. Ive had issues with a printer that I purchased there and the manager went out of his way to make things right. They try very hard. Not easy to please people today.

Just called to purchase new battery for wireless phone. After a hold of over 5 minutes, someone finally answered. Was told I could possibly order it on line, Store did not keep such batteries in stock. Not particularly helpful!
