I called and spoke to Don regarding training for my 2 Jack Russell Terriers, litter mates, male. He immediately told me that had I made a bad choice and had I conferred with him he would have said it was not good and then asked me if either of them had been hurt by each other. I said no, he said well they will probably have to be re homed at some point. I was devastated and I felt his attitude was a bit cold hearted. I asked him what he thought of training and by the end of the conversation I had made arrangements to sign up. I paid 290.00 for 1 2 hour classroom session and 8 weeks with dogs, the manners class. The first session was with Don and we traveled from Waterville to go there because I read his Bio and listened to come radio clips and I thought I made a good choice. The first night I was a little dismayed at the room, but I believed it was just for classroom. It is quite small with slanted ceilings and very hot. After 2.5 hours of classroom with a short 15 minutes break we headed home. I was still enthused at that point, my husband not so much. The next week there were slippery roads so we stayed home. The 3rd week we got there and much to my dismay I discovered the 6PM class did not have one of my dogs in it, they were in the 7PM class together in the awful room where the other 4 or 5 dogs ( I cant even remember the other dogs because my poor boys were so stimulated) are 3 to 4 feet from myself and my husband. We each had a dog. By the looks many of these dogs had attended other training and they were not totally distracted as my guys were. I had worked with them on clicker training for 2 weeks DILLIGENTLY and that night all they wanted to do was sniff other dogs and pull their leashes. IT WAS HORRENDOUS!!! The whole thing was in the small room with slanted walls at the temperature of HOT HOT HOT!!! The trainer came to my dog and said to me. " Oh you werent here last week I can see you didnt work with Sammy!" I said that I did INDEED work with both dogs and it was the chaotic atmosphere. She mostly sat on the floor reading her material while my poor dogs were so anxious they panted and pulled until I thought they would be sick and they were on the way home. I did not go back and almos dropped it as a bad decision on my part BUT NOOO they let my dogs and me down! I am sure there have been successes but this was not one and I am shocked! I did everything I was supposed to do! I have requested my money back and will proceed to court if refused. I would proceed with caution!

Left my dog over the weekend. The older woman at the counter was the most unfriendly business woman I have ever met. She is completely unpersonable and just rubbed me the wrong way. When we rescued my dog he got a name change and to this day it still isnt changed in the computer even though every time I go there I ask them to. When I left my dog there I wanted to walk him into his kennel and she was like "You are all set" and didnt even let me make sure he was all situated and okay. They need a new woman at the front desk because I would never speak to my customers the way she talks to me and because of her she lost my business. The reason why Green Acres Kennel is getting two stars from me is because they were able to board my dog without having a kennel cough shot which he hadnt gotten yet due to him being newly rescued. He has one now though and I am taking my business else where. Would only recommend this business if you are in a pinch like I was. Otherwise uses the other businesses Bangor pet resort. They are much nicer and you can pick up your dog from doggy daycare much later than here. Over all rating D-.

I brought my perfectly healthy pet here; I was immediately contacted about her food schedule--the person admitting her had taken that info but had apparently failed to note it in the system. While I was gone, my pet began to show all the symptoms of a syndrome associated with some immediate blunt force trauma. I believe that she was dropped or mishandled. She was taken to her vet and examined, and I credit this staff for having done that. Also, I brought her with enough food to see her though her time there plus an excess--she was returned to me with WAY too much food in excess, yet I was told she ate regularly. The staff I interacted with were very kind, were familiar with my pet, and I do not not doubt that my pet was loved and cuddled, yet, again, I cannot recommend Green Acres as a safe place for pets.

The store has many useful and high-quality items. I have taken their level-one dog training class, and it was excellent. Kate was the instructor, I would highly recommend her. The private exercise yard is open to customers when it is not in use for training. Boarding services seemed good when we used them once, although you have to pay extra for services like group playtime.

You would be hard pressed to find a friendlier kennel! On top of that, they offer exceptional deals on quality food and treats, training classes, and expert pet advice. I have yet to find nicer staff who genuinely look forward to seeing my lab, and hes treated like a celebrity!

Don and his staff are extremely knowlegdable and helpful! Whenever I have pet questions of any kind they are more than willing to be of assistance. And when we lost our beloved dog they sincerely grieved with us.
