As a business owner and wine lover I had always hoped that a wine merchant would open an nice shop here Lake Charles. When I noticed one day a new business "The Wine Store" had opened on Nelson road I wondered to myself how they will ever survive? Are there enough wine lovers like me? How will the service be? Selection? Price?....... To begin with the owners a husband and wife couple are constantly on site and at your service. With wine tastings every Thursday right after work and a constantly rotating stock they always have something new to try. The prices are great and can only be beat buy Sams with zero service. On your way home consider stopping by "The Wine Store" and ask for Martha!

We were coming down to Lake Charles for a friends birthday. We were planning some drinking and gambling...we ended up just gambling. But, we did want to have some drinks set up just in case. We were looking for some basic liquor, but we forgot in LA, everywhere sells liquor. So this place had mainly wine and higher end liquor. I was able to snag up a bottle of Hibiki Harmony for 60+ tax. It is currently sold out all over town in Houston. They were also very nice and sent us to the gas station down the road which had a wide variety of the basic stuff.

The Wine Store ,wine tasting Thursdays are Amazing the best Unoaked wine Ive ever tasted!!! The owners (the Strongs) are amazing host & hostess to their guest!!! Looking forward to another wine tasting!!!!!

This is such a great store! I was kind of scared because I dont know too much about wines but wanted to experiment. The owner was so helpful and didnt make me feel like an idiot. I revisit this store often!
