This place has much more to offer than just Wine. They have a lot of Beer and Spirits as well. They also have a nice variety of gourmet food items (Cheese & meats, variety of chocolates, cocktail mixers, interesting sauces, even beverages. Any time you walk in they have new wine tastings for wines they feel their customers would enjoy. They will also offer a tasting of the meats and cheeses and other food items they offer before you buy. They also have a very large variety of Wine and Cocktail devices & tools, and even a nice selection of books about Wine, Beer, Spirits, Missouri & Kansas, & Kansas City guides and history books. They also have out of the ordinary items from unique birthday cards & all occasions type cards and gifts to handmade wooden wine racks, cheese boards, and other wooden items available for purchase. Lastly, they have a small area that they rented out to us for a 20 person American Wine Society wine tasting event we hosted. They helped make the event a success! Very nice and helpful owners! 2 thumbs up! Worth the trip downtown for a visit!

I purchased a Groupon for one of their wine classes that I finally used this weekend. I have to say my wife and I had a great time. The class was intimate so we didnt get lost in a huge group. Their people were very knowledgeable but not pretentious as has been my experience at other venues. The class was one of many they offered which was essentially a Wine 101, where they went over the basics of both white and red wines and the differences between them. Next time I would like to take the $10 - $100 class that lets you sample bottles of wine at different price ranges.

The staff here is top notch. They are very knowledgeable and always willing to make recommendations when I ask for help. Ive been a wine club member for about 7 years and I have taken a number of classes, which have all been enjoyable and informative. Its a great stop on First Fridays, and is also a terrific place to stop by to have a glass of wine (or two). They have a great selection of cheeses and meats, so try a cheese and charcuterie platter. You wont regret stopping in here, and it may become one of your favorite places!!

Recently went to the Cellar Rat for two bottles of wine, one for myself and one for Mum for Mothers Day. Staff was very helpful and did a great job finding a Zinfandel in my price range as the gift. Mum rated it a 9/10 and Ill take that every day, especially for the price at which I got it. The Riesling they suggested was also good, although didnt make quite the impression on me as the Zinfandel did on Mum. Long story short, Im going back. Today, in fact, haha

Cellar Rat is definitely my favorite wine boutique! The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff are superb! I have been frequenting this lovely establishment for about nine months and the welcome my wife and I receive are like family coming home. All are knowledgeble about their store and can always make an excellent suggestion for something to try. They offer great classes and tastings. If you havent stopped by here, you truly should, its the place to go!

I go to this wine merchant every chance I get. They have the best selection I have ever seen besides a nice selection of cheeses to with my wine. I also took a wine class here which was fantastic. The employees really seem to know their stuff whenever I have any questions. They also have a wine club you can subscribe to, but to me, their wines are a little pricey. This really is a nice place to visit and partake of a glass or two of wine.

I cannot say enough about how great the service is here, Kevin(not me) has managed to do a great amount of customer service. I can walk in and get some good beer, or grab a fantastic bottle of wine without feeling like they are presing me to spend more on a bottle. some days I want a value priced wine to do work and drink with, other days I want something special and flavorful. they have it all, and everything in between

Its a nice friendly store with a wide variety of wine, but my main reason for stopping in is their liquor selection. I have often found rare and allocated bottles of whiskey just setting on the shelf, also a great selection of small batch vodkas, gins, and other fine spirits.

Awesome store and staff. We were in town for the weekend and stumbled across the shop. The staff were very informative about wine and spirits and gave us some helpful tourist information too. We left with a nice bottle of wine and a bottle of local whiskey.

Cellar Rats selection is unlike any other in KC, MO.While I visited Cologne, Germany I drank their local beer,Kölsch. Its been three years since i had Kölsch. But thanks to the Cellar Rat I am reunited with one of my favorite beers once again!
