Very often, as you walk through the door, the staff at the registers will greet you warmly. The staff are also very willing to help you find whatever you might need, should you need the help. Odds are, if you need something in terms of DIY, home improvement, contracting, etc., Stine will have it. They also have a garden and pool section in another building across the parking lot. The only drawback is, if you can find it at Walmart nearby, then chances are good that Stines price for the same item is going to be higher - especially pool supplies. However, if you need something that would not be at Walmart, but say Lowes would have it, then Stine will be priced better, usually. I much prefer going to Stine for my home improvement needs whenever possible and cheaper to do so.

Some Twenty years ago, when I had more income at my disposal, I shopped for much of what I needed at Stines...We didnt quibble about prices ( they were more expensive than farther away competitors) but I figured shopping local was important. Now..that Im retired and have less income I have to be more careful. Recently I asked if there was a Senior Citizens Discount available and was told flatly..NO! So, I left the items I wanted to purchase there...not much but closer to a hundred dollars once I picked up the other items I would have needed....and I told them...Had I known twenty years ago they were going to be such Aholes about something so important to Seniors I would have well traveled farther and shopped elsewhere. Im finished with Stines! End of Story!

Staff is always very knowledgeable and helpful no matter what department Im in. I spend more time in the garden area. There is always a wide variety of items that arent readily available at other stores and plants stay hearty for the most part through the season unlike other stores, where you can see they are majorly neglected.

Have a lot of stuff, but what I didnt like is that I went for lawnmower oil. Ended up buying several different things. When I asked someone where the oil was the told me I had to go to a different building. So I had to pay then go to another place. Well I paid then went to Walmart.

The prices are competitive with others in town and most of the lumber prices are cheaper than Lowes in Leesville. You should definitely comparison shop here before you buy at Lowes. I usually save over $150 on a $1000 project.
