This is a great little pet shop. The prices are somewhat higher on many items than at the superstores for pets, but that is to be expected from the lower volume, individually owned shops. During every visit there is at least one (and usually more) employee who REALLY knows their stuff. I shop for tropical fish and supplies, and dog supplies, so my questions range widely, but the answers have always been correct, and I do not hesitate to recommend this shop to others. They often have the ability to special order something that they dont normally carry, and they will call you when it arrives (usually less than a week). The space is cramped, but if that were not so, they wouldnt be able to carry the variety of items that they do (pretty decent selection of in-stock stuff). Go here if you have ANY questions...the superstores (for the most part) give cookie-cutter response to questions, sometimes correct, many times not. The info you receive from these folks will be right, and even if it is a bit more pricey here, you can sometimes save $$$ by not purchasing the wrong items for your needs. I have been saved from myself several times!

Went In to buy fish.Asked the girl with longer blonde hair at the counter to get me fish.She acted like its was such an inconvenience to her. She also helped another customer on the way to help me get crickets.Then after getting the fish she then told me there is no gaurentee on the fish.I had then told her I was not going to purchase the fish.She got real snooty and said have a nice day with the biggest attitude. I will say this though , as I was waiting on her service there was another guy working there with a beard who was going way beyond to help another gentleman.He was super knowledgeable and helpful to the other customer. I should have waited for him. Will most likely not go back but if I do look Ill look for the employee.

I have lived by this pet shop for most of my life, occasionally stopping in to play with the dogs or the kittens, but never usually buying much. Today as I drove my dog to be put down, from a brain tumor, I asked the tall male associate for a good treat to give to her before she was gone. Not only did the man with the beard, who is always friendly to me when Im inside there, take me out a great snack, he gave it to me for free and then walked outside and help me feed it to my dog and gave me condonlences for my loss. This is the definition of going above and beyond, this is the difference between a chain store and locations owned by real people. This is the kind of service you get when you go to pets plus

This store is incredible. They have anything you need and then some. The staff is extremely helpful and really knows their stuff. The owner is a great guy that has been in the business a looong time. Ive been coming here for over 20 years. Ive bought fish and all the necessary supplies, birds, etc. The last 3 dogs Ive bought over the years have all come from here ( & NOT PUPPY MILLS as some people that happen to be affiliated w/ a rival store nearby like to claim and spread about Pets Plus). I just wish that one person who makes such claims would provide any shred of evidence before trying to diminish someones livelihood

It is a great store! We bought my Teddy Bear pup (bichon/shih tzu mix) from them last Christmas. He has been the best dog I have ever owned. There breeder is a local NKY family that takes great care to socialize and treat their animals in a very loving way. You can tell by how sweet my pup is and how he just took to my young daughters, our friends/family and even all the other dogs in the neighborhood. I dont know where this talk of puppy mills comes from but these people have no clue. I am actually thinking of getting my pup a new brother or sister and it will certainly come from this store!

The owner of this place id a PURE A**hole. He tried to extort money from me when I asked him to print my receipts of purchase. Blue Buffalo has a class action law suit and if you purchased food from them your entitles up to $200 in refunds. However, you need proof of purchase. I have 5 animals in my household and purchased over $2000 worth of food in two years and Jeff didnt want to print my proof of purchase unless I paid him 10%. He lost my business and I will inform anyone I know this place is a rip off and the owner is a A**hole.

I am disgusted by the fact that there are still pet stores selling puppies from breeders and puppy mills when millions of dogs are euthanized each year. Pet stores should be owned and run by those with a love of animals, people who work with shelters to help eliminate overpopulation instead of perpetuating it. This is not a review of the employees who are likely working hard to care for the animals there and have no say in what is sold at this store.

DO NOT GO HERE. I bought a ferret from here a couple of weeks ago. A few employees were talking to me about ferrets and suggesting Marshal brand food, which is notorious to experienced ferret owners as a bad brand. Later today I just noticed my ferret does not have the 2 tattos behind the ears that Marshall ferrets have. They are selling ferrets from independent breeders and marking them as Marshall brand.

Staff are friendly, however their animals are kept in awful conditions. Especially the fish, as the tanks are never clean and look absolutely terrible, with algae clinging to everything, murky water, and waste visible in every tank. Reptiles are decent, but many are in too-small habitats, or being fed the improper size crickets.

My pets have always been freaked out by the vet until we went to doctor Sheldon and pets plus they are great! my dog and cat are completely relaxed in their office and the staff is great! I love them and so do my pets!

Everyday Life

The staff was super helpful in getting my turtle setup complete. They were super informative and now my setup is looking sweet! Thanks guys Ill be back for all my future needs!
