Purchased a Nook tablet and thought I made myself clear when I told cashier I did not want to have to use debit/credit card to download books but a gift card. She was not sure that could be done so she had to call someone in the back who stated yes, gift card could be used. Set up B&N account to purchase/download a book with gift card, but I still cannot download items without entering my debit/credit card as a backup. B&N WILL NOT have access to MY direct deposit $ like that. I so hate when salespeople FAIL to give you accurate or ALL information to make a purchase or not. (But in this case this chick probably just wanted to get back to personal conversation she was having with a coworker that I obviously interrupted when I started asking questions regarding the NOOK). Now I will have to open separate bank account, request debit card to be used solely for B&N account. SMH ... dang shame, where is the freaking reliable customer service. Not the first time had problems with this B&N. May just start going to Lville for assistance and not deal with the headaches here in E-town.

I have always enjoyed my visits here for many years,but my last visit will be my last. I ordered a mocha frappe,my usual and was slurping along when I felt something in my mouth. I pulled a half an inch of green plastic out of my mouth. Then I began searching my cup to find a couple dozen shards of plastic. It was the plastic of one of their green straws. I have no idea how much I ingested. So I frantically ran back to the counter to show them. The manager tried to tell me they dont have straws behind the counter ,and sounded as if she was accusing me. My straw was still in the cup which was perfect. There is no way I could have done that to a straw. It was blended up.... All I got was a short sorry and my 3$ back. I really wish I took a picture, and I pray to God my body processes it without harm.Thats not a small mess up,that is huge.

I have not had any problems at the Etown B&N but have had very good experiences with service. Any employee who wasnt sure about the answer to a question always found someone who did. The service for the Nooks I own has been excellent (I have had to have both of them replaced & it was done quickly and efficiently. The reviewer who couldnt use gift cards to purchase books for her Nook must have done something wrong. I have received B & N gift cads at various times and have had no trouble using them to buy Nook books.

Granted B&N is an amazing bookstore, but Starbucks is dragging it down. Their coffee is poorly made. Just a little bit of food for thought. Whenever the coffee is sent to the factory for roasting and after it is done it sits on the factory shelves for 6 to 9 months before it is shipped out to a store then it sits there as long as it takes for a customer to buy it. There for the freshness and taste is repudiated.

My husband and I love going here on date nights after dinner. We drive from Bardstown but its worth it. You can buy anything online now days and read digital books on your tablet, but there is just something special about going to an actual book store and flipping through pages of real books. We never leave empty handed. Wish we had one in Bardstown (I would probably go broke if we did though!)

A nice place to go work away from Fort Knox, but the store closes at 9PM. This is the earliest Ive ever seen a B&N close. Maybe Im wrong and the population and costs of staying open till 10PM dont support it, but it would be nice if it stayed open until adults go to bed ;)

Pretty much just the local starbucks with a S**TLOAD of books. Great place to pop in for an espresso and tons of grossly overpriced obstcure hipster kitchen ware to fiddle woth while you wait. Also good discounts on the coffee with a barnes and nobel membership card.

Their selection and the way its organized is nice and convenient but the customer service in the book section of the store is appalling. I have had rude service the last 2 times I was in there and they were rude to another customer while I was within earshot today.

I was looking for a 2017 or 2018 astrology book for Aries. Was told they do not carry those books except for "maybe" around the first of the year. As big of a chain and as well known as this store is I would expect them to stock "some" of every kind of book.

One person who worked there kept following me like I was trying to steal. All I was doing was trying to find my favorite book. She followed me to the registers and started talking to the cashier and ponted at me. I put my book back and left.

They wont take Starbucks gift cards, but will take Barnes and nobles, smh cant wait for the new one to be built so this one will shut down. Seriously a Starbucks that WONT take their own gift cards?! Terrible idea! 1 star is all you deserve.

Good selection, fair prices, friendly and knowledgeable staff. However, some of the cashiers can be a little too friendly which causes delays in checking out - but I will take that over quick and rude service every time.

The staff are fantastic. This is an extraordinarily clean and cozy book store with lots of space in the aisles and a huge collection of good books. I think this business benefits Elizabethtown and its people greatly.

Pretty well stocked nice place to hang and chat it up and get coffee love the manga books the only downfall is small cafe and short hours they should be open till 11 or 12am
