This store used to be my favorite Joanns location. They have a great selection and the employees are usually very knowledgeable. Due to recent problems with being a business trying to purchase items for resale/wholesale, with tax exempt status, I will no longer purchase items from this location. Spoke with the manager and told him and showed him that I had the proper documentation and also gave him the phone number for the individual I spoke with and confirmed this with the State of Kansas retailers department. He said to come back in and everything would be fine, since he called to the State of Kansas to confirm what forms were needed by their company to accept a purchase from a tax exempt company that was not a school or non-profit organization ( I did have all the right forms). Returned to this Jo-Anns a second time to purchase items for my business with the proper documentation and was told again that I was not allowed with this documentation to purchase from this company. Obviously, they were not trained by the manager in the proper forms. This is the only retail store and Joanns location that I have problems with to do this. The customer service employees were so rude about the whole situation that I dont feel comfortable returning to this location even to purchase stuff for my own use!

I am a quilter, paper crafter among other crafts. I am becoming more unhappy with JoAnns in Shawnee with each visit. I was among 4 other customers waiting at the cutting table that all had numbers waiting for service. There were two employees at the cutting table, but only one cutting fabric for customers, while these customers waited. Annette was so busy cutting remnants she could not be bothered to help customers. I have often found long long long waits in both the cutting lines and the check outs. there are multiple cash registers, but not multiple cashiers. I believe that the employees at this store and other JoAnns store should be trained that without satisfied customers they will be unemployed. Perhaps with a deficit of craft stores in the area they have become complacent about customer service. More than one business has gone out of business not because of good quality products, but really poor service. There is a Michaels close by to serve craft needs and a quilt shop close by to serve sewers needs -- lets see if we can improve the service in both this store and the Overland Park store in 115th street. Thank you.

I need a small peace of foam for my chair I have to stay there 2 hours but I talked to a customer was waiting just like me she told me about this new upholstery shop just opened on the 7807 shawnee mission Pkwy called best upholstery & supplies .so the Jo-Ann Fabrice is a bad place to go and there price is too much

Always a good experience at Jo Ann Fabrics. The only negative was no scooter for a disabled person. All other JoAnns I have been in always have a scooter and a wheelchair. Its so much harder to use a wheelchair when you are by yourself and trying to buy fabrics. No room for the bolts or my purse. Please consider purchasing a new scooter.

What a great store! if you are looking for crafts and only crafts, Jo-Anns is the place to go. Most items are very fairly priced. The store is clean and the employees are friendly and helpful. The one knock I have is the cashier process takes a bit longer than it should. They could use a few more cashiers. Great overall experience.

I went in to find a mat for a photo I was framing. I couldnt locate what I wanted on the shelf so I asked an employee. Kathie went out of her way to locate what I wanted in the back. I was able to finish my project. Thank you for the great service Kathie!

Some of the staff is pretty crusty, some grumpy old ladys that work there, mabe they dont like tattooed younger men in the store and dont take me seriously? They have a crazy huge selection though and you can usually find anything you need.

Very good customer service. I called to see I they had an item and which they did. I asked if she could bring to the front for me so I didnt have to run around searching. I got there and was out within 5 minutes

Not exactly my kind of store.... But there are quite a bit of other craft stuff. Fairly good prices and a good selection. I ended up spending a little money and about an hour of wanderig around.

They have EVERYTHING I need for crafting or needlework and storage. It can be difficult to get someone to help you and long check out waits because they are always short staffed.
