We bought a Lay-z-boy couch and recliner here several years ago and had horrible service when the recliner had a warranty issue, but we decided to give this store a try again anyway. Last week we bought a mattress from the store. The price was more expensive than other stores and when we talked to the sales person, they just kinda shrugged it off. Being as the store was close to our house, we decided to purchase the mattress anyway. We were then told that we had to buy a $75 mattress protector for the 100 day guarantee and if we wanted the mattress to stay in warranty. I could not believe that I had to pay another $75 for a mattress protector, but, I felt I didnt have any other option. We got the mattress home, put on the $75 over priced mattress protector and "slept" on the mattress. I say "slept" because I didnt. The mattress protector was so noisy and uncomfortable I didnt get much sleep at all. Anytime my wife or I would move, it sounded like someone crumpling up a bunch of newspapers. Theres no way I can sleep on the mattress protector. So fine, I accept that I wont be able to have the 100 day money back thing on the mattress, but surely I could return the mattress pad that I only used once and will never use again. I called the store and explained my situation to a sales person. She put me on hold and came back several minutes later to tell me there is nothing they can do since the package was opened. I asked to speak with a manager. I was then put into a voicemail. This was at about 11:00 AM. I never received a call back. I called the store again later in the afternoon and asked for a manager and this time was put through to someone. I again explained my situation. The person I talked to told me there is nothing they can do since the package has been opened. Then he proceeded to basically tell me that I was wrong for feeling the mattress protector was uncomfortable because he has one at home and has never had any problems with it. Ok, so I cant return it, then help me out in some way because I will NEVER use this mattress protector. I basically just paid $75 for a useless piece of cloth that I will NEVER EVER USE AGAIN!!! I cant use it because I wont get any sleep on it. He again said he wouldnt do anything and treated me like I was stupid for feeling the way I felt, "I understand the words you are saying" he would say. I am so irritated with this store I will NEVER shop there again. I have never had worse customer service in my life, and this is twice at this store now. Read other customer reviews and they all say the same thing about how terrible customer service this store provides.

My wife and I went to Home Makers in Des Moines to look at a leather couch and matching chair. We fell in love with a Lazy Boy called Dexter. The price was a little over $2000. On the way back to Cedar Rapids, I suggested my wife call Slumberland Furniture as my wife Googled the nearest furniture store that carries Lazy Boy and Slumberland came up. She talked to a sales lady named Elizabeth and asked her if Slumberland carried Lazy Boy Dexter leather couch and she said she would need some kind of a number. So my wife research all the numbers she had and Elizabeth said that wasnt good enough. My wife told asked her how many different styles does the Lazy Boy Dexter have? Elizabeth said she had no idea. Mind you, we instead of spending over 2 grand in Des Moines, we wanted to stay local and Elizabeth was starting to annoyed at answering our questions. My wife got frustrated and asked to speak to her manager. After being on hold for over 4 minutes, a answering machine took over and said to leave a message. My wife just hung up and we decided never to do business again with Slumberland. If I treated a customer like Elizabeth did, I would have been fired on the spot. I know they dont care one way or the other about this review and now realize they just dont care. There are plenty of other furniture stores that would appreciate my business.

I agree with the above reviews. I also am waiting on delivery of bunk beds for my kids and my experience with this store is already unacceptable. The sales team at this store are very rude and act as if they are giving you charity rather than selling you thousands of dollars of furniture. The person we placed our order with did not crack a smile the ENTIRE time we were in the store. He looked bored and annoyed at the fact that we were there. Unfortunately the furniture store selection in CR is so limited we were forced to consider purchasing from this place. We have had excellent customer service experiences at furniture row, had they carried the style of bed we needed we would have just bought from them. I really hope the quality of the beds are nice!

First off, always check the Slumberland website, the stores "sales" prices are not really any different than the websites prices. Also their "delivery" cost are ridiculous ,,$120 to deliver in town, but only 69.95 if you would order online. I was promised a couch by a certain day, no call, I called the next day to find out that I wouldnt see my couch or chair for another 2wks,,I was not a happy camper. They did give me free delivery, but thats been screwed up as well, had to call to find out where my chair is too,,This will be the LAST PURCHASE I EVER MAKE FROM "SLUM"BERLAND!!!!

I purchased a bed set 2 years ago and the mattress caved in-the customer service center replaced it for me which was great, however, Slumberland was going to charge me $59.98 to have it delivered and swapped out even though it was THEIR product that was defective. I paid someone to pick it up for me 2 years ago, then 2 months ago, I purchased almost $2,000 in furniture and paid $100 to have it delivered and here I am, paying $59.98 to have a defective product be replaced. Needless to say, my next furniture purchase will NOT be coming from Slumberland!

My girlfriend and myself just purchased a Living Room Set, Dresser/Mirror and Bed Frame from Regan (hopefully I didnt butcher the name) whom is a Manager there and by far our favorite person although they are ALL great! Our experience was great! We were greeted at the door, explained what we wanted explained which was great! We ended up financing a portion of our sale and got 12 Months with NO INTEREST! How sweet is that? Most places dont even offer anything with more than 6 MONTHS no interest! If youre looking for anything, hes your man!

I went in around memorial day and was quoted a duel cloud lux set with bases by one of the mangers. I went in to have them honor their promissed 300 off the bases and they wouldnt stand behind their promise. The sales team was not able to explain the differances between the beds to me, nor did the guy seem like he wanted to help me at all. The sales people instead seemed to want to stand around a table and talk. I was so upset i left and just went to Mattress Firm and got my Tempur-Pedic set there.
