I am not one to find blogs to complain about a product/servicer- this is my first time. Menards in Ankeny has horrific customer service. When being hung up on by a representative in plumbing regarding a fireplace order which they ordered the wrong venting supplies; I then took this matter to the store Supervisor. The store Supervisor then suggested that the person who I was talking to, "He would never do that to anyone and you must be mistaking who you talked to." This all took place over the telephone. I then had to drive down to the store, 45 minutes from my house, to get this matter voiced to another person in management. The parts were to be re-ordered and in the store by December 23rd- they didnt come; again on Dec. 29th- they didnt come; finally, we received the part on January 18th after calling the store. This is absolutely what he said and such horrible customer service more than once, it is obvious if the supervisor reacts this way, of course the other departments have the same mentality. Please, again, understand that I am not one to complain but this was so awful that I/we want others to know to save yourself the time and headache; shop somewhere else. It is worth the extra money to go to Lowes or Home Depot for your supplies.

Seem to have most items in stock, but overall selection could be better in some categories. Seem to have sufficient customer service help, but it never seems to be a person near me when I have a question. My biggest complaint is about their parking lot, because the spaces are too narrow. All the contractors and have the regular clients bring big vehicles so they can load their purchases. Big vehicles make standard parking spaces to small. I said something to them about two months before they refinished their entire lot, but it fell on deaf ears. They stlll have the same narrow parking space stripes, so be prepared to have your car doors banked more often. Go to Home Depot next door if it is not worth a $100 dent to get a $3 drill bit.

I love this store but Im not happy the price is marked up on allstar concrete that I buy a 35-40 pallets a year, and then go and do this 11% rebate like youre going to save money and all they do is bring it back down to the price you would have paid a week before the "SALE". It was 4 bags for $9.00 a few weeks back, and then it went off sale to $2.79/bag and now they say it is original price was $3.14/bag but if you buy it now you get it for $2.79/bag so you really dont save any money at all.

I went to Menards tonight, going to purchase 55 bags of blowing insulation. Come to find out they wont let you use the hopper for free. They want 25.00 for 4 hrs and 5.00 per hour after. Pretty tough when you live 30 miles away! I called Home Depot got the same insulation for less and the hopper for free! I was a faithful Menards shopper but I am pretty upset about this Menards! I had approximately 800.00 to purchase remodeling supplies and I walked out with nothing!

I prefer the Menards in Altoona because Im more familiar with the layout but otherwise I like Menards a lot. The prices are generally better than Lowes or Home Depot. The employees are also generally more knowledgeable about home improvement. If your concerned about quality, just spend more money on sturdier materials. If your concerned about doing more with you dollar, this is the home improvement store for you.

It took extra 2 weeks to get special order delivered to store, beyond what I was initially told. The check-out person was inexperienced and mistakenly scanned my pickup slip which meant the guard at the gate to the pickup area did not let me in. After finally getting things straightened out and getting home, the hardware that was supposed to be in the products box was missing.

Ankeny Menards never has items in stock - we always end up traveling to another location to get what we need. Their customer service is substandard at best and they seem oblivious to attempt any kind of improvement for how their store functions. Save yourself the headache; its worth the time to drive to another location instead.

Showed up at 630 today bright eyed and bushy tailed ready to do some shopping. Saturday store hours are 630 to 10pm. Manager did not show up to the store to unlock the doors until 647 am. Not very professional when the management cant show up on time. Must have had a little bit too good of a time last night?

Not as good as usual! I tried to make a key for my front door. Got the key home and it wont work? Now Ill have to make a trip back to Menards with the key that wont work. Other than that I love Menards and I wish they would build a store in Clermont, FL.

Godawful customer service. If they have a quality or delivery problem not only are they apathetic to help, but they make no secret that they really dont care. Dont believe me? Check out the Better Business Bureau - they have a rating of "F."

Absolutely worst Menards in their system. I always have issues with them accepting competitor coupons. For some reason they always find an excuse for not accepting any coupons. Dont bother, use another Menards, they are much better.

We bought new Glenwood Beech cabinets for a kitchen remod. They were pretty banged around by the warehouse when we recieved them. A lot of money for poor quality and service!

Good inventory, prices and for getting exercise. 11% rebates are are a hassle and only good for buying more. No military discount. So Lowes and HD are usually my first stop.
