It is unfortunate that in this day and age that even a mall, once the destroyer of many a downtown area is itself is now dead. The place is now a relic of the once glory days of my teen years. Sorry but I sometimes digress. On the level though the place struggles to stay alive. There are only a few good stores left as the last anchor..Pennys is now closing. I see a parking structure in the future.

Was glad to find a JCPenney store still in operation, and a soft playground area for small children right inside the malls main corridor from JCP. Playground spaces and places to take small children, and making families feel at home matter so much in keeping malls relevant and a positive experience these days.

This mall has improved in the past ~10 years but is still nothing special. My favorite store in this mall is TJMaxx. There are only two places to grab food, both right beside each other on one side of the mall, nothing on the other side.

Because Ames is a small city it has a small 1 level mall but it has variety of well known business such as Victoria Secret, TJ MAXX, Younkers, JC Penny and many others. There a small play ground for kids younger than 7 years old.

Has some of the basic department stores. If you are from Chicago you will be disappointed by the amount and type of stores in the mall, but if youre standards for a mall arent too ridiculously high then it is a nice mall

A good mall for what it is, but there really isnt a lot to it. The mall is clean, well staffed and easy to get around, but it is lacking in selection and does not have a movie theater (at least any more).

Really small, run down mall. Worth the drive to go to West Des Moines for Jordan Creek Mall. This mall was bad during my childhood and has gotten worse. Best part of the mall is the new TJMaxx.

Small mall, but it has the major stores you would want to hit. Good for a weekend day out to walk around and shop. Ragstock for your random clothes find, shoes, little kiosk shops, etc.
