My best friend and I went here to have a girls day before heading back to college thinking it would be a fantastic experience, sadly our expectations were not met. The service was awful. Our waiter clearly did not understand his job title and it took over an hour & a half to complete our lunch. Ive never expected to be treated like a queen at a restaurant, but this was hands down the worst dining experience of my life. It took over thirty minutes to even place our lunch order, then after we were finished eating we requested ordering dessert, since that is their claim to fame. We waited for so long that the group seated behind us actually complained to their own waiter that we had not recived service. (She was with her daughter and had the ability to wave down her waiter, unlike our waiter who was no where to be seen.) So who I assume to be the manager came to us and said, "So whats going on here have you put in an order or not? What is it that you want?" Which first of all is extremely rude to say to any customer, especially ones that have been waiting, have already had lunch and are interested in spending more money at this establishment. Anyways the process of eating the dessert, getting a box for it and receiving the check took at least 30+ minutes. Not to mention that our waiter did not split the check and was annoyed by us asking him to. So my friend and I gave no tip on our checks, which Ive never done but this was the worst service Ive received. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone unless you want an expensive lunch with no customer service.

I received a gift card to The Cake Bake Shop from my students, and was looking forward to going there. I took my 90 year old adorable mother for lunch. After some time in line, our order was taken. We sat down and waited. And waited. We were quite amazed to see people who came in after us being served their food. Ours never came, so finally I asked a waitress about it. She eventually brought some of our order, but had run out of the sandwich I ordered. I graciously accepted a substitute. As I approached the counter AGAIN to ask where the rest of our order was, the owner had commenced to taking orders at the register. I said to her that our experience at her shop had not been a good one. She told me she would make everything alright. She never acknowledged me after that, or made any effort to make up for our disappointing lunch, so we left. We were so looking forward to a nice and delicious lunch, but it was not to be... Edit to my review- When Gwendolyn says she will make it up to you, she means it!! The complimentary lunch she and manager Janet provided my mother and I exceeded my expectations! It was lovely and delicious, and I thank The Cake Bake Shop for satisfied tummies and happy hearts.

My first time going to this bakery I thought it was super cute and elegant! They have a nice variety of treats and offer lunch. I ordered some macaroons(favorite cookie ever) and a slice of there napple an cake. The macro on were tasty, bit they were $3.50 a piece for a little cookie, and the cake was I believe $8-9. So this shop is pretty darn expensive. Although the cookies were good, the cake was a bit disappointing. The chocolate cake was very moist but the strawberry and vanilla layers were dry. I havent tried everything there and this is to discourage anyone from going. But for there prices to be so high and their product to be just ok, I would go else were. And that is what I did. I went to RenneS bakery right down the street from this shop. ReneeS isnt fancy at all but the pastries and other baked items are spoon good!!! And half the price that cake bake costs. I would highly suggest you go to both shops and judge for yourself. But dont let the glitz and glam fool you. Its always the places that dont look like much that have to best food, thats why I would recommend ReneeS bakery. You will not be disappointed, I promise!! I am now a regular customer!!!

My kids and I went to the cake bake shop for my daughters birthday today. She was so excited to sit at a table in the pretty seating area. I made sure I made a reservation so we could have a table. When we got there we were told even though we had a reservation it would be at least 45 minutes! Whats the point of a reservation?! We didnt have the time to wait that long. They offered us a spot facing the kitchen. We sat there since we didnt have another option and my kids and I couldnt see each other to talk to one another and they kept falling off the stools. After waiting 20 minutes our waitress never came so I had to go up and tell them we didnt have a waitress. We finally got our cake which wasnt that great especially for the price. I had to again go to the counter and have them tell the waitress we needed our bill. Overall it was a horrible experience and very disappointing considering it was my daughters birthday. Customer service is everything and this place does not have it! We will not be returning and I will discourage anyone even thinking about trying this place out that its not worth your time or money!!

Bad news, good news. First the good. It is a beautiful shop and the cakes & pies are awesome looking. Being a dessert addict, I was in heaven and couldnt wait to try an assortment of goodies. Wow, what a disappointment. My daughter ordered the Neopolitan cake and I tried the Lemon cake. Both were dry. The Lemon had interesting flavors but the dryness really took away from any complexity. I couldnt eat more than 2 bites. The Neopolitan was both dry and lacking in flavor. For this price point, I expect to be knocked off my feet or at the very least, really enjoy the dessert. But neither cake was any where near my expectations. I also tried the Apple Crisp and it was delicious which give me some hope that the pies, perhaps are better than the cakes. I think I would go back to give one of the pies a try but dont foresee me trying another cake. I think that there is a real effort to make something special but the results simply were not there. It is a situation where things look much better than they taste. On the upside, the personnel were very nice and helpful.

I visited the Cake Bake Shop recently with my 2 daughters and aunt and was very disappointed. The place is beautiful however, it is very small. When walked in people were standing everywhere it took us a minute to get to the counter which is but from from the door at all. I ordered 2 pieces of the Orange Marmalade Cream Cake, a chocolate chip cookie, brownie and an eclair. After placing our order we then joined the others standing and waiting. When I asked if we could get a table I was told that there was an hour wait. It took over 20 minutes for us to actually get our order. Since we didnt have a table we took our treats to go. The Orange Marmalade Cream Cake was sooooo dry I thought maybe it was just my slice but my daughters was dry as well. The brownie was hard and tasteless. The cookie and the eclair were ok. For the prices I expected way more than what I received. Needless to say we will not be back.
