Kroger took forever to build its new location across the street from the current. Kroger Marketplace - this is the first location in Indianapolis and serves as their new business model to complete with places like Meijer and Target. This place is huge. A lot bigger than any other Kroger that I have ever been in. They have a great selection of produce in both your typical as well as an expanded organics section. This location has a Starbucks as well. The area where Starbucks is, is like a dining area. They have a salad bar where you can grab something to eat and actually sit down to enjoy it. The cheese shop in there is pretty impressive too. Offering options that you may not find in other grocery stores. They have an expanded meat department; however I have yet to actually purchase anything from it. The entire back wall is made up of the meat and dairy departments. Which means that the center is everything else. On the north end of the building you will find an expanded pharmacy department as well as their Little Clinic (to compete with Walgreens and CVS). They also now sell clothing as well...though its a small section and consists of brands like Wangler and Lee. I feel that the brand selection at the new Marketplace has doubled from what Kroger normally carried. I find that I am drawn to the Simple Truth brand which consists of natural and organic options. The place is remarkably clean for not only a Kroger but one that is as busy as this location. The bathrooms are kept clean and fully stocked. The staff I cannot comment on as I havent really dealt with any one person before. I typically use the self scan and as far as getting what I need...I am pretty self sufficient. This location also has the feature where you can order online and they bring it to your car. I have not done this yet...and I honestly dont think that I would. I just dont know how I feel about someone picking out my food. What if they pick something less fresh that another? They also added a Kroger gas station out front as well. When it comes to food, if you cannot find it here then chances are it doesnt exist.

I have only been in the store one time because of their ClickList program, which I LOVE. ClickList allows you to shop online, and then pick up your merchandise at the store without ever getting out of the car! If you havent tried it, you are missing out. Its free to try and only 5 dollars normally. However, you can almost always find a code to make it free. Reviewing ClickList: It is the best thing ever. I hate fighting through stores on the weekend, so I just go online and add items to my cart through the week as I find out I need them. This also prevents me from forgetting things and having to make a second trip. Then on Friday, I finalize my cart and pick a time. Im in and out of Kroger in less than 10 minutes, and on with my day. The employees that deliver merchandise to the cars are great. No only careful, but very personable. The store also has thoughtful ways of highlighting departments through free samples. On Mothers day weekend, my wife got a flower and a brownie. On the 4th of July, they gave watermelons. A great idea, because weve bought from the bakery and purchased quite a few watermelons since. Reviewing the store: I really like the setup of the store, in which each department looks like its own little store. The store also has nearly anything you could possibly want, no matter how exotic. As a result, the store is HUGE, which makes it kind a a deal breaker for me on most days. Overall, the store is worth a stop and ClickList is definitely worth a try.

In the interest of full disclosure, I am the child of a 32 year Kroger employee and am a bit picky when it comes to Kroger and other grocers because thats how my dad was and taught me to be. Weve used this location since it opened and always find everything we need including ad items that are unavailable at other locations. We have only used the fuel center, grocery and deli departments, as the style of clothes and shoes carried are not the type we wear. We attempted to use the minute clinic co-located within the pharmacy but found it to be understaffed for the time/day and were unable to use it due to this. The lack of a fifth star is due to the attitude of the staff in the hot & ready foods area, specifically the grill area. The hours changed without notice recently and the staff working in that area were rather rude in how they informed my spouse and myself of the change. Other than this incident, we have had nothing but positive interactions with the staff. The fuel center is neat and clean, and the fuel tanks are obviously well maintained and moisture free. I monitor my actual-use MPGs on my vehicle and get on average two extra miles per gallon over other retail fuel centers in the area. Its not much to most people but we put over 100 miles per day on our car during the work week, so every extra mile is a savings we can use otherwise.

Definitely one of the biggest and nicest Krogers in the area. The clicklist service is awesome and we use it often, but its worth the trip inside note and then too. Wonderful cheese selection, and above average bakery. Nice to be able to grab a Starbucks while youre shopping too. Only complaints, small as they are, is because its so big, its not great for quick trips as everything is so spread out. Need a pound of deli turkey, gallon of milk and some pain killers? Be prepared to hike it all around the store. Also, some things feel a little awkward to find, like the other day I was after refrigerated pudding cups and after 10 minutes of going between the dairy section and baking isle where the boxed pudding was, I finally had to ask. I wish I could remember which isle it was now that had the spare cooler tucked within it, but lets just say it wasnt obvious. That said, everyone Ive encountered that works there has been friendly. Dont love getting accosted while shopping too sign up for their credit card, especially when weve been there an hour plus, my feet are hurting, and I just want to get done and get home, but thankfully thats only happened once. Overall its a really nice store with a helpful staff.

Revised review from 5/31/2017: In the past I have had issues with ClickList pickups at this location taking more than half an hour after arrival during light times. However, Id give them another chance - theyre trying to improve these issues and Ill update my review after I give them another chance. I think the store is trying to make things right, just going through some hiccups. Theyre watching the reviews here and trying to make things better.

This is a super Kroger. They have such an awesome selection. I will warn you, they are busy, and because they have such a great selection you often end up spending a lot more time (and money!) than you planned. But it is great. The meat counter is amazing, and they have an entire section of cheeses, and a great wine selection. They also have a lot of prepared foods that look just amazing. We really enjoy this location!
