They are cery Rude! Ower is Prejudice staff didnt give ne a receipt the part was the wrong one try to return it he got very ugly with cuss me out! Im out my part n money now when i ask him to call his employee who took care me he said he had no way to contact him u guess he need the money more than i did...imay me feel uncomfortable as soon as i walked im how dare he cuss me out when hs store was in the wrong then told me to get out his store maybe if my skin color was like his would have treated me with respect i was polite until he try calling me a lier n he use profanity to me,,,i will tell everybody i know not to do business with him!!! I rate you a big 0

Bill Gasper and his wife Trudy owned the store and sold me my first three road bikes. The last bike was a Schwinn Paramount which Bill sold to me at cost because I was in college at Indiana University at the time and couldnt afford it otherwise. He even let me pay on installments. Bill and his cycling friends got me interested in cycling when I was in high school. I would join them on thier group rides Sunday morning rides from the shop on Ridge Road as they rode through Crown Point to southern Lake County. Thanks to Bill and Trudy, cycling became a life long passion of mine. This store has good karma and brings back great memories.

Staff will ignore you. If you try to get them to help, they act like they have something better to do. If you make the mistake of buying a bike from them, they dont care if the bike is a good fit. They wont help you get out the door, but they will watch you struggle with it (bangs and scratches, oh my). They dont do service on Saturday, and they dont notify when your bike is ready. Raleigh cheaped out on cable slack, so a simple handlebar upgrade will be cost prohibitive. I am not optimistic about warranty service. Please Note that all positive reviews are 2 years old. Something Bad happened at Ridge Cyclery. The Bicycle Love is gone.

Like Robert, I also went to Ridge Cyclery on a Saturday, prepared to spend around $400 on a bike. I found one that I liked, and the young salesman insisted that the womens size small bike I had chosen was too small for me, even though I am only 5 tall and had previously been fitted at Trek. When I asked if he had anything that he thought would be better, he said no. I drove all the way from Crown Point to Highland to patronize a local business and walked out frustrated and empty-handed.

awful experience. Totally ignored. More so, was completely shocked to overhear the owner putting down his customers in front of two people that WERE being helped. Something along the lines of, "people like waddle in here on Saturdays and get whatever they need" WHAT. At that point, I had to leave. If thats their attitude towards their customers Ill gladly go some place else

Saturday afternoon looking to shop local with my wife and daughter to purchase two bikes. We were totally ignored by the two young men behind the counter. This is why you do not hire teenaged staff and leave them unsupervised. We also went to Trek and purchased two bikes. Small business to me is all about customer service and Ridge Cyclery was a total failure.

Before coming here I had went to Trek looking for an ENTRY level road bike. Was immediatly greeted by a salesmen who began to up sell me a carbon bike for $2k+. I went to Ridge Cyclery and they took my budget into consideration right off the bat. Friendly staff that didnt give needless input. Will be returning for future purchases. Support your LBS!

Bought a Giant brand mountain bike here, Works perfectly never had a problem with it. I go in from time to time to have things checked out, after rough trails or falls. Good quick service. They help you when you ask and dont hover over you when you are just looking, which is nice because that can be very annoying.

Fantastic service and knowledge of cycling. The young staff understand the bikes and are very helpful. It is a small business, 3-4 people on staff, the owner is almost always in and very helpful. If you want a salesman to hover around you and tell you what you should buy then Trek may be a better fit.

Brought in my 20 year old $1,000 Cannondale in to get 3 particular things fixed. Im used to a "do our best" attitude from repair shops. Yes, my front rim was off-true, but Im used to shops saying, "well do the best we can", not, "throw that bike away." I guess the "lead" mechanic, probably Tbc

Do not. I repeat do not come here. There superiority attitude and the talking down to you is not worth it. There are other shops out there that can repair for the same prices that are much kinder. The young kid who does repairs youll want to spit on. Total lack of respect for their customers.

I went to get a part for my mountain bike, staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, Store has a great selection of bike accessories and bikes .I heard a lot horror stories about this store but after checking out myself, Ill definitely be going back again.

I agree that the staff werent especially responsive but they fixed my flat tire, adjusted my brakes and the cost was very reasonable......they are close by so Id go there again if I needed work done quickly and inexpensively.

Looking for a Schwinn? Look elsewhere. There are no Schwinns other than the massive amount of repairs bike racked on the floor. Mostly Giants from Taiwan
