I rate on a planetwide scale, and dont give out 5 stars lightly. Maybe its really a 4.5, but for northern Indiana its about 7 stars. This place is just delightful. Yummy and creative sandwiches, salads, and breakfast things with amusing descriptions. I had the grilled cheese with saurkraut and bourbon-carmelized onions. Small but good selection of pastries. About 20 varieties of loose leaf teas. They do their own chai and miraculously its not oversweetened. Could use more cardamom, but thats a personal preference. Friendly, cheerful, funny staff. I was there around dinnertime on a cold February Wednesday and of the dozen tables only three were occupied. Plus a couch on which a couple of geeky teenagers were talking and flirting quietly. Several power outlets. Decor that day was a mixture of Valentines cards (maybe seasonal), plus various bits of local art, and some geek culture figures (The Ticket, Rorschach from The Watchmen). Backs of chairs have random bits of macrame weaved through them. Theres a delicate and happy-making mural of birds and a tree in the bathroom. Free wi-fi with password.

Well, I live across the border in Illinois and had a business associate in from France. I didnt know the area well, and googled coffee shops in the area. I was apprehensive b/c its near a gun shop and I didnt see people who "looked like me..." of course walking in with a tshirt that read "SWAG" in huge capital letters with a white French man with long hair down his back didnt help we received a few stares...but the staff was very welcoming and polite and the coffee & scones were excellent. I guess I judged them more than they judged me. I loved the location & the atmosphere. Im sure we will be back before he leaves for France. Thanks.

Pro - wide selection of teas that appear fresh (not crumbled or wilted) Cons - Single comfy chair (old beat couch that will sag your butt to the floor) Sugar and Splenda(toxic and dangerous) Where is the Stevia? Two young ladies who (painfully obvious) do not enjoy their jobs. If they used NoWait (app) i would gladly use it to avoid those debbie downers I came with a smile, left with a shrug

Limited menu BUT everything was Great! Try the pulled pork sandwiches! Great bbq taste on crewsant. Fresh sour dough bread. This is a multi selection tea house with great sandwiches and breakfast house.Best little secret in Griffith. Friendly hard working staff with very affordable pricing.

Id dare say that the sandwiches here are better than Panera and most coffee shops. Try the Turkey Dolo and you will not be disappointed. Coffee is also really delicious. Atmosphere is very relaxed and trendy. This is a nice place to get some work done or meet up with some friends.

Great coffee (with tons of options, and beans to buy) and service! Their vegan chai snickerdoodles are to die for! They have tons of delicious vegan pastries and a couple vegan sandwiches, too. The atmosphere is very unique, and the music they play is great.

I have eaten most things on their menu, and I love this cafe. The tea is well brewed. The coffee of good, never burnt, and the food is delicious. I recommend Salad #2, because the balsamic vinegarette is uniquely delicious!

Hands down my favorite coffee shop in the area. I love that they serve Metropolis Coffee. The sandwiches & baked goods are creative & taste great. Anyone I recommend it to always loved it, but beware...you might get addicted.
