Piney Acres is really doing a good job with their haunted attractions, they have improved year over year, and this year was no different. The actors in both the Haunted Loft and Maze were very professional, in character, and quite clever. We got a few laughs and a few scares in each attraction. I spent $88 for a family of four to do 2 attractions...a bit higher than i expected. I think i couldve saved $2 per person buying online, so thats on me. By comparison, though, i spent $27 / person for Hannah Haunted Acres, which offers 5 attractions including the hayride. Kings Island was $35 / person for all day, including all rides, and along with more haunted houses than we could get to. So, personally i think $22 is a bit high for 2 attractions. But...Piney Acres is close to us so we can get there and back without making a whole day of it. The Haunted Loft - Very well done, actors work hard to stay in character and follow the theme. Props were suprisingly good...as good as or better than other haunts we have been to this year (excluding Hannah Haunted acres Hayride). Scares were well done, with some creative characters. There was good interaction between visitors and actors, not just jump scares. The only complaint i have about the Loft is the wait to get in...you have to wait until the group in front of you completes the attraction before you can enter. This seemed unnecessary; pace is controlled by the actors so it seems possible for two groups to be in and still be separated, or maybe its just a sound issue give the size of the place (?). Actual time in the attraction was maybe 5-10 minutes. The Maze - actually this is more of a haunted trail than a maze...which is better than your standard corn maze. The trail is long with many props and actors and stops along the way...a lot of interaction between actors and visitors. It was entertaining and spooky, and the actors worked very hard to provide a good experience. They deserve a lot of credit for making this attraction as good as it is. The location is great as well...meandering through corn and woods, as well as Pine trees with low overhang, and man made structures. A great mix of environments to keep it unexpected. The only complaint about the Maze..the walk to get there could have some signs, lights along the way...the little solar lights dont do much to guide you and stepping on rocks and bumpy dirt paths in the dark isnt spooky, just troublesome. Hang a few strings of orange lights, or put a couple of props to light the path. Highly recommended for people who like outdoor attractions and dont want to rush. Im guessing it took at least 20 minutes to complete the trail, not including wait time. Overal this place is recommended for those who dont want to travel to Indy or elsewhere. I would give 4 1/2 stars if possible. It offers a lot given the location, and we are always pleased with the family and staff that run it. There is food on-site, nice clean restrooms, farm animals, and a shop. A bonfire outside to warm you up if needed. We have done the hayride in the past, but not this year, so no review of that.

Sooo disappointed this year. Had one of the guys walk around the yard helping me select a Fraser. He kept directing me back to the first one he showed me and after looking around I decided to take the one he recommended. After paying $100+ for the tree I got it home and in water in about 30 minutes. When I was putting the tree in the stand I saw that the trunk of the tree was cracked wide open. It has now been about 24 hours and the tree has barely used water. I will be lucky to have this tree make it a week let alone til Christmas. There is no way to put it back in the car and haul it back there so just beware when shopping here. I will shop elsewhere.

We have always done a real tree from Lowes. This year we figured "cut down your own" so I googled fresh cut trees and this popped up. The experience was good other than the fact that we were almost back to the store before the driver asked what kind of tree we were looking for and the charged me for a more expensive tree. We eventually picked a Norway spruce. Beautiful tree. But 2 weeks in the slightest breeze would knock the needles off. Almost $90 for a free Ill be lucky lasts until Christmas. Lowes it is next year....

Seems to have a decent amount of trees to choose from. Kind of pricy, but I think that helps keep a good selection. We spent $75. It is kind of muddy, but it is a farm which is to be expected. They had 2 tractors hauling people in and out. I would have liked to have seen more assistance hauling the trees out. Maybe extra wagons or utvs hauling trees out. We will go back in the future. Next time I will probably bring my own wagon.

Update- Nov 2016: They have a pitiful selection of trees this year. Dont waste your time. We have gone here for the last 3 years, and I feel like both the selection and the service has gotten worse every year. Im sure selection has ALOT to do with weather, but its still disappointing. The lack of good service- when we go during the week at that, is inexcusable. We will be trying a new farm this year.

Love this place! The setting is totally unique, the staff is so friendly and my kids never want to leave! I love the fact that its free to visit, you only pay for what you WANT to do. Definitely a different kind of experience that Ive found no where else, especially living in the city! The only problem with Piney Acres is deciding which time of year we like it out there the most, fall or Christmas!

Great time had by all. We arrived a hour early because I did not look up when they opened online. We played on the playground and waited they even let my son in early to use the restroom. The pumpkins we got are perfect and unique with large stems. Our son loved the games and my husband and I were like big kids on the gem mine. Thank you Piney Acres for such a memorable day!

As a single parent, my 14 yr old & I have made Piney Acres a family tradition for 3 years. Not only do we LOVE the haunted attractions, but Christmas is a magical experience here as well. The pricing for all is very affordable & well worth every penny. Thank you for ALL that you do to make it such an incredible experience!!!

There is mud everywhere. It is a disorganized mess. They ran out of saws. No one knew what was going on. They were dragging Christmas trees through the mud. It was absolutely horrible, and we left and bought a tree at lowes instead. They are charging a premium price for a subpar experience.
