I have been ordering flowers for years, decades even, from this florist, and have always been happy...until this year at Mothers Day. I ordered a potted plant for a friend, and I specifically requested a plant which could be put in the ground; I have been getting such plants from Fashions in Flowers for years. The woman on the phone recommended the hydrangea, and I bought it. My friend received it and said it was lovely...for about 4 days, and then it began to wilt. She unpotted it, planning to plant it, and discovered that the roots had been cut off to make it fit into a small pot. She called the florist and complained and was told that it was intended to be lovely "for a short time." My friend told me that the florist has recently changed hands; I assume that the new owners do not care about quality the way the Reid family did. I will not be using this florist again.
