Initially we contacted Lake Shore Ford on the internet. We got a reply from Sales Associate Ben De St Jean the next morning and gave him an idea as to what we wanted in a new car. He later contacted us and advised that if he did not have a car available on his lot that he was sure he could get what ever we wanted. A couple of days later we went to the dealership and met Ben. After giving him a description of what my wife wanted he advised that he did not have what she wanted on his lot but there were several cars fitting her description and that depending on what exactly she wanted he was sure that he could get the car she wanted from the fleet of cars that was available to their dealership. Ben further suggested that we take a test drive in one of his Tauruss to get a feel for this type of auto. When we went out to check his lot my wife found the car she wanted to buy which was not exactly as she described to Ben. The car was test driven and we informed Ben we wanted to purchase the car. The sales experience was very pleasurable but quite lengthy. We found Ben to be very knowledgeable on his cars and also very helpful in assisting us in setting up some of the car features to my wifes satisfaction. Ben is a fine young man and has assisted us with different aspects of the car we were unfamiliar with after we purchased the car. He further encouraged us to contact him any time we had questions or needed assistance. All aspects fo the sale, trade-in, and financing went smoothly. I was particularly impressed with the system they had on evaluating our trade-in. I have never seen a dealership use three types of blue books in order to determine a fair value which was the average of the three prices. This was probably the best experience of buying a new car in our sixty-five years on this earth. We highly complement Ben and his dealership and look forward to doing future business with them.

Service Center was very disappointing. Im going on vacation soon and heard a metallic sound from under the hood. So I wanted this repaired before i put 2000 miles on the vehicle. I explained the problem, even took the tech for a test drive so he could hear it. He heard the issue and confirmed a couple things he thought it could be. I said..well while its in the shop, please change the oil and rotate the tires. They called me the next day to tell me nothing was wrong and the oil change was complete and the tires were rotated. When I asked what they did to fix the noise..they said nothing. I went home and paid my bill. Even though they stated they rotated the tires, THEY DID NOT. I have a ding in one rim and it still in the same axle and side as it was when i dropped it off. Anyway. The noise got worse over the next couple weeks. So I took my car ALL the way to Ford in Valpo (30 min each way). Within 1 hour, they figured out what the issue was (loose heat shield) and repaired the problem. I was stunned...why couldnt lake shore figure this out? Why do i have to pay $125 to another dealer to have them fix a simple problem that should have been found with proper investigation? Very disappointed that I couldnt count on my local dealership to fix this properly and identify the issue. Now I have 1 hour spent dropping off the car yesterday and another hour to pick it up...plus wasted money. not good. I messaged them..they had the GM get back to me and he made it right. They do have good customer service.

took my car in to get the heater hose assembly fixed and the fuel rail sensor replaced so my check engine light would go off..well after driving the car my check engine light came back on and I took it back up there and they said now the egr valve pressure sensor needs replaced..this never came up when scanned previously..the reason being, when the mechanic replaced the heater hose assembly he broke the connector on the egr valve so I had to go out spend $70.00 on another part and have someone else fix it..would not recommend..would not return..I would recommend taking your car to a small local business to get your car repaired these people just want your money..break your stuff and want to charge you more money to fix what they broke!!!! I never write a review on a place but after spending 850.00 and my cars not fixed I figured I would

Lake Shore Ford continues to send me advertisement to entice me to come to there store in Burns Harbor. I purchased a Ford Explorer 10 years ago from them and really liked the vehicle but kept having rear differential problems. They took care of the problem one time under warrant. The second time a few mile out of warranty I had to pay. Even though they recognized there was a problem. The third time with only 65,000 mile on the vehicle I decided that is enough and traded for a DODGE RAM. I am on my second Dodge Ram at this time. The reason for this review is to EMPHASIZE every company or person needs to stand by their product just for the sake of future business and public PR. If they would have take care of me I would be driving Ford Pickup trucks.

I advise any potential employees who may work under Ford (not Toyota) management to do so with caution. As a former employee, I would personally witness & experience occasional harassments & acts of verbal abuse that would continue up until my eventual termination, even after notification to GM & owner. Other than that, my experience at the dealership was positive & i enjoyed my time meeting many great customers & employees here during my yr service.

Cant say enough about the demeanor of the sales staff. Certainly, not like others in the area. Our salesman, Jim, was straightforward and very knowledgeable about the equipment on the vehicle. He took the time to explain the Sync 3 system - and thats a bunch. I got a honest trade-in on my vehicle, which was derived from the average of three prices. Give them a try. I doubt you will be disappointed.

The entire staff is incredible. Honest, genuine, and will go far out of their way to do everything they can for their customers. I have had the best experiences purchasing vehicles from Lake Shore Ford, and will not go anywhere else. In addition, they fully support programs at Chesterton High School, especially the marching band program, so Im happy to go to Lake Shore for purchasing and for service.

Great place to buy used or new, or to lease. Best experience I have ever had buying a car as a woman. Months later the car lots are still dropping my price from what I looked at with them. The other places will rip you off, you are better going to Lakeshore to laugh with Mike Cochran and buy a car. He doesnt even get commission, if you buy a car from them. It is about you, not them!

John Schmidt the General Manager was superior in his performance in dealing with customer service!! Michael Cochran was the best salesman no pressure and easy to talk to with questions and selling points! The finance manager was fantastic and worked hard to get me a low interest rate! I give Lake Shore Ford Toyota and Scion A two thumbs up!!!!
