It is a great store with a wide selection of rural and workwear supplies. Im glad to finally have one in Bloomington. I was especially excited to hear that they have a gun counter with some pretty fantastic deals (not many of those in Bloomington). I get to the gun counter, and thats when the experience starts to head down hill... As soon as I get step up to the counter, the guy behind it starts staring daggers at me. I try to smile and say "Hows it going?" The guy grunts and asks, "Can I help you with something?" I ask him if I can take a look at a Ruger GP100 revolver. He starts walking toward the handguns and then stops and looks at me like some kind of customs officer and asks, "Are you 21?" I was a little surprised. No one has ever carded me at a gun counter before... but I figured Id give the guy the benefit of the doubt. I said, "Yes, Im over 21." And he just gives me this look like "yea right kid". I ask him if hed like to see some ID, and he said, "Yea, Im gonna need to." So, I hand him my ID, and I think its gonna be smooth sailing now that Ive proven were all adults. But no. I mention that Im surprised how light it was for a .357, and I look up. He doesnt say a word, and hes back to staring daggers. I go to cock the hammer only to find that he has left the trigger lock in. He doesnt offer to remove it, and I dont ask. I hand it back to him, look him in he eye and say, "Thanks." ...and he doesnt say a word (big surprise). Overall, it wasnt a bad experience, but I can tell when Im not trusted or respected. And, yknow, thats ok. Ill take my business elsewhere.

Terrible experience / terrible equipment - tried to buy a King Cutter bush hog at the Paris store but was told they were out of stock. Ended up driving to Charleston Illinois store (40 minutes away) only to find out that the Paris store did have the mower in stock but their computer inventory was in error. Took the mower home from the Charleston store only to discover that the bolts holding the blades to the attachment points for some contacted the bottom of the deck (sounded like a jack hammer when rotating). Took the unit back to the Charleston store only to be told that I would have to wait two plus hours to get the unit unloaded while they fixed their forklift tire. No apologies for any inconvenience. On the way home (and while I still had the borrowed trailer), I stopped by the Paris store to but a 7 ft King Cutter blade. Found the blade in their display area and went through the checkout only to be told by the clerk that their computer said they were out of stock. When I told the clerk that I just looked at the blade, she argued and told me I must be mistaken. Lost it and headed to my vehicle only to be chased down by an assistant manager. Took him to the blade and he questioned that it was really 7 ft long. One of his workers pulled out a tape measure and showed him it was indeed 7 ft long. At that point, he quit talking to me and instead belittled the guy that had been my only help at the store. Have since bought a Woods bush hog that works great

This Rural King needs remodeling and the management needs to keep the store inside and out cleaned up better. Ive seen several times dying to dead chickens in the holding tubs. The restrooms are always dirty and some toilet paper roll dispensers are broken and cant hold the toilet paper, so Ive seen them on the floor. They also use the store speakers way way to much to do their communicating to each other, which is by far not relaxing to hear at all. Today they were announcing they couldnt understand an employees signature and needed assistance. What ever happened to using radio communication between employees? They also start about 45 minutes before they close using the speaker system letting you know they will be closing, then its like every 15 minutes to remind you.

Wanted a 25 gallon sprayer to attach to my four wheeler. Had some questions. Girl came over and nice but didnt know much about them so she radioed to ask another person to come over and answer some questions. Her response over the radio was that she would come over and read each box to me. I was spending around $300 + on the sprayer and another $200 on other stuff. Customer service was extremely rude! I will go to Tractor Supply from now on.

The selection is great! But the employees are hard to find, and not very helpful. The cashiers are mostly ok, but I have been treated very poorly by a manager (a female, whose name I wish Id gotten) on multiple occasions. They need more help, and they should be more selective with the ones they do hire.

What would you do if Store Management (Matt) out and out lied to you about the features of their products and then company headquarters didnt even bother to respond to your complaint. What I do is stop patronizing such a business as Rural King.

VERY GOOD "experience", the RK staff seemed most polite &/or helpful! Sole "request" be a type of flyer, to inform public best way to raise or keep chickens? CLEAN water & surroundings (enviorment) seem most vital or important!??

Love the popcorn, love the fact we can bring our dogs (on leashes), and always great customer service. If they have what you need, you will get a lot of Made in the USA products and very competitive prices.

The Bloomington store evidently needs new management in the checkout department, no-one seems to know how to turn on the light indicating that the checkout is open, but someone stand at all registers.

Huge store for all sorts of farmers, country type, or just anyone who appreciates that they have stocked what most stores dont. Very friendly and professional employees.
