No question, hands down this is the best Mexican food in town. The style is mostly northern Mexican, since the owner is from Guanajuato. I had the best chilaquiles I have eaten outside of New Mexico, and the atmosphere is informal and friendly. I cant wait to try more of the menu. I should mention that I usually judge the overall quality of a Mexican restaurant by their beans. Only Mexicans really care about the taste and texture of their beans, and this is reflected in the crappy stuff they serve you at chain restaurants. This place definitely passes the been test. They do have some unusual groceries, and sheep spices too, and if youre looking for Clamato to make your michelada, this is the place.

This is a restaurant and market. The first half is a grocery store that houses Mexican food and ingredients, and the second half hosts a restaurant. The food was very good. Much better than your franchise Mexican that often tastes like canned imitations. We were impressed that our meals were made to order, and very delicious with large portion sizes. I was also very delighted to find that their market also sells slices of Tres Leches Cake that My wife and I were more than happy to take home. The staff was friendly, and gave it an easy going at home feel. All in all, a simple restaurant with good food that reminded me of my Mexican families home cooking.

Fabulous authentic fare in a super casual market/restaurant. Service was friendly and fast despite just one server for the entire dining room. Prices seem reasonable given it was clearly hand prepared with no shortcuts. English menu was not extensive but hits all the high notes. Wish my Spanish was better. My tacos were very good, especially the Al Pastor. My son ordered a steak that arrived covered with grilled onions and roasted jalepenos. It was much too hot for him but I enjoyed helping him with it and shared my tacos. Great learning opportunity. I think well buy some items from the market on the way out.

The food is pretty good, but the service is bad. Ive been three times, and each time weve had to wait a decent amount of time to be acknowledged, and never have received refills or anything like that. The saving grace is the food, which is pretty good. The portions are large, and everything is delicious. I just wish theyd improve their service or knock the price down a bit to compensate for the bad service.

Went here for the grocery. Its the only store in the area to carry tortilla shells large enough for burritos as big as your head. Its a hole in the wall, but is authentic.

Mexican restaurant right in the supermarket. Food is pretty good but a bit too expensive for my tastes. $2.50 per taco.... They charge for Chips and salsa as well.

Best Mexican food in Bloomington. I love the people who work here, they are so friendly! The tacos are great and I love the giant wooden booths.

Tucked away in a tiny mall strip, great ambiance. Doubles as a small grocery store so I can get ingredients to try recipes at home.
