She was excited to get out and walk a bit, something she used to do quite regularly just a year ago. As you probably remember we had trouble locating her after looking for about 20 minutes. It looks like a mall that is in a state of decline. In relation to comparable mall, there is no free wifi for example. On a labor day weekend, I would expect more shoppers - but it was so-so full. The restrooms were pretty decent, but dated. Parking (because there werent many people) was plentiful. A few empty storefronts - not sure if new stores are opening or they are still looking for tenants. The childrens play area was a free for all - lots of much bigger kids running around making it possibly very unsafe for smaller kids, many of them had shoes on (against the rules) and had carried food inside (against the rules).

Been many years since I have been out. So much has changed at this Mall Although a bit of a culture shock, I feel Im adjusting well. The fine Jewelry store I purchased my "one of a kind" gold rope and bracelet is long gone but I was able to locate a watch repair shop that know how to fix Tag Heuer watches. Overall I will rate this experience the highest possible even know Johns Garage is replaced by some Clam Shop. I have been blessed with unparalleled vision for deer and evil! I love how this place is very up and coming. Modern, yet with hints of that mid-century modern feel. The food options are great. The stores though. They have some lousy stores that get no customers. They dont have stores and anchors like Nordstrom, Lord and Taylor, Hollister, and Abercrombie. Overall, good mall in general. **Update** This mall is becoming deader and deader. The Carsons wing had no kiosks and the day I was there, there was a flea market—making it seam like they need shoppes.

Its a nice mall. Id say its one of the quietest of the area, at least it used to be. I think they got busier once Dave & Busters moved in. I dont find myself coming here often but when I do its a pleasent visit. I think its the store variety, its decent but I think there is something missing (cant quite pinpoint it at the moment). They have a decent size food court, which had been remodeled somewhat recently, with a variety of options.

Thoroughly impressed with the newest update and artistic changes in this mall. A lot of fantastic stores have moved into open store fronts and the great stores have remained. Can get occasionally very crowded but it is always clean. Excellent sky lights and interior lighting make for a light and airy atmosphere and shopping experience.

I can honestly say Im probably one of the few people that have known Hawthorn since it opened in the early 70s. When I was a teenager I started visiting Hawthorn and Im 57 now Ive seen what they went through during and after the recession. I sincerely hope Hawthorn is around for years to come.

I havent been here enough to give it a more thorough grade. I did like the suspended jumping attraction I saw when I walked in (unfortunately Im too big for it) and the food court kinda felt like a copy of the one at Harlem-Irving Plaza. Didnt really explore much more than that however.

One of the best malls in Lake County, IL. Lots of brand name stores, a food court, a movie house with reclining seats, bookstores, a Dave & Busters, even a train ride on the second floor! Great place for hanging out with friends, great venue to get romantic with your special someone.

Depending on the time you go, this mall can get quite crowded. If you go when it isnt it is generally a pleasant mall. Decent food court, they have a dave and busters now, if you want a few cocktails. Much better than woodfield as far as keeping your stress level to a minimum.

Movie theater is the most comfortable one I have ever been. Its clean and all seats are equipped with a couch setting. So coZy and comfortable that you may fall asleep during the movie time haha. The mall itself is just so so. I give my stars to the movie theater.

This is a good option if you prefer shipping to store. If you prefer to go shopping in a mall, I would not recommend this since the stores do not have much variety as you see in other outlets. The tax is 7.25% which is less than other malls like woodfield mall.

What use to be nice and fun place to shop at is now a dump. They try to mask the problem by bringing in a movie theater and Dave/Busters. But, its now a sad empty mall were retailers are pulling out. Shop online to save you the time and headache of coming here.

Pretty nice mall that is always clean and never feels overly crowded. The store selection is pretty standard for a mall and in the last couple of years they have definitely been making an effort to add more flagship stores and restaurants.

What a nice little mall. I do have to praise them for having the best family lounge (bathroom) ever. Came here to meet the Paw Patrol and donate school items. We let the boys play afterwards in the little kid zone. Mad props guys.

Actually went here to go to Dave and Busters inside of the Mall. Did not actually do any shopping this time. Overall appearance was very nice and clean. Parking area was well lit and very accessible from many different entrances.

This place has many things to offer, it recently expanded to include a AMC movie theatre with recliners. I always enjoy walking around in the mall as it also has some entertainment for the kids as well.

Hawthorn mall has really stepped its game up since I was a kid. Outstanding movie theater, large food court and department stores ranging from geeky to foreign to punk to mainstream. Big win.

Pretty generic mall in a good area. The family bathroom is above average with curitan drapped nursing space and a tiney flushing potties and lots of changing tables. Very family friendly.

This is a pretty great mall! Lots of stores come and go, though, so I never seem to know precisely what will be inside. But the theatre is spectacular and the major shops are all there.

The AMC theater is great. The 5Elements nail salon is right next to it. I go there to get my Pedicure done before my movie starts. What a way to enjoy my relaxing day at Hawthorn Mall.

Dave & Busters had terrible customer service. I waited for my food for an hour just for them to let me know that they lost the order. There was no structure of any kind at the bar.

I have been going here for many many years! Its a bit of a smaller mall, but they have everything that I need. They have a decent food court, and things are kept pretty clean.
