I have bought my last 3 vehicles from Worden Martin. This last one has timing chain issues, that were still covered under the manufacturers warranty, the first two times it happened. The third time it happened, it was within 2 months of WM "fixing" it. This time it was out of manufacturers warranty, but should have still been covered under WM 12,000 miles or 12 month warranty on their work that they just did 2 months ago. First two times I had no problem getting them to repair it, wasnt on their dime so of course they were happy to do the labor intensive, time consuming, expensive work. This time though, I am being told that the oil was low and that was creating this issue and there must be a leak somewhere. Now mind you, the first two fixes (the last one just being 2 months ago) not one word was said about oil being low or there being a leak. This time though, the vehicle is doing the EXACT same thing, all they did was an oil change and told me to come back at 1,000 miles to have the oil rechecked. We have been checking the oil, so far, still the same. They even told me that upon inspection, they could see no apparent leak but that it must be leaking from somewhere. So instead of them pulling the engine apart to correct the timing chain again, from the work they just did 2 months ago, which obviously was not done correctly, they are instead just saying the low oil is creating the SAME PROBLEM and as long as there is no leak, I should be good to go. I told ERNIE the service manager that what I believe to be happening is that they are band-aiding the problem to get past their 12,000/12 month warranty so that when the issue comes back (and I am certain that it will) the warranty will be gone and the fix will then be on my dime, not theirs. He had no response for that. I asked him how they know that the timing chain is okay since its having the exact some issues as 2 months ago, his answer was, "they dont." So basically, their fix is to put oil in it, and hope that fixes the problem. It is running okay for the time being but if the chain is stretched, putting oil in it is not going to fix it...and the problem will return. I want them to physically look at the chain and tell me if it is stretched or not and fix it if it is, but they are unwilling to honor their warranty and do this. Its basically a time bomb, dont know when it will start acting up again but I know that it will....

I would have given this dealership 5 stars until I ran into my current situation. I bought my car here at Worden Martin. They sold me a decent car at a decent price, and were also very nice to work with. I think their customer service is great. Their service department needs some revamping. I was taking my car in for oil changes and the past two times I have been in there, I let them know of a concern I had about something under my hood not sounding right and not running properly. Of course they said they checked and it was "just my air conditioning starting up". This was normal in their eyes apparently. This happened TWICE. After many of my friends were also concerned about how my car was running, they told me to take it to Steve Winkler in Paris, IL. I didnt have an appointment scheduled so they just took a quick look and were able to tell me what was wrong with it. (Im not a professional with cars or car vocab so Im not EXACTLY sure what was wrong) They told me something was bad with the water pump and that I also had a chain come loose. Today they were fixing my car and after taking a longer look, they realized that many of the parts under my hood were in jeopardy. Not only was my water pump bad, with a loose chain, but all of the chains under my hood were burnt out. They didnt even want me to look under my hood when I came in today to check on the status of my car. What I came to conclude was either Worden Martin knowingly sold me a bad car to get it off their lot OR their service department needs some serious changes. Steve Winkler has been amazing. They gave me a loaner without any hassle, and also made multiple trips around IN and IL today just to get me the parts I needed so I wouldnt have to wait longer. They also fixed a recall on my vehicle when I just dropped in to see if they could look at my car, it took them about 5-10 minutes, easy fix. Worden Martin said I had to make an appt for it, and didnt even offer to do it after my oil changes. I will definitely keep going to Steve Winkler Automotive, and Worden Martin will be hearing from me soon about this mess.

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. COLLEGE STUDENTS DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE FOR ANY SERVICE REPAIRS. I went there because my window would not roll up. They said they would take door panel off and see what is causing automatic window to not roll up. Few hours later they called me and said that it was the window regulator and priced it at 495.00. Upset by price, I had to get it done. They called me back and said sorry we cant get part until Tuesday. Do you want us to just keep it over weekend and work on it first thing Tuesday. I decided it was best to just keep it in their garage as it was supposed to storm heavily. I forgot something in my vehicle so went back there to grab needed items. Upon my arrival, they were very hesitant when I showed up. When I went back to my car NOTHING WAS DONE TO IT. DOOR PANEL WAS NOT OFF AND NOTHING WAS LOOKED AT. They lied straight to me on the phone saying it was definitely the window regulator and that they had it all apart. I was furious. The guy, GEORGE, DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO AS HE WAS CAUGHT. He basically said well I never said it was apart. I told him that was ridiculous because I thought about taking it home, but was told it was a huge hassle to get the door panel back on and pull up the window for the weekend. I GOT MY KEYS AND LEFT-WENT TO HYUNDAI DEALER AND THEY LOOKED AT IT AND IT ACTUALLY WAS THE REGULATOR AND GEARS ON MOTOR WERE BAD. THAT PLACE DIDNT EVEN LOOK AT MY CAR AND TOLD ME WHAT WAS WRONG AND THE ESTIMATE. TO TOP IT OFF THEY WANTED ME TO PAY 150 DOLLARS TO JUST HAVE THEM PUT IT BACK TOGETHER AND PULL UP WINDOW...WHEN NOTHING WAS APART.

I would absolutely NOT recommend purchasing your vehicle from these people. They lie to you and cheat you out of money and then wont fix the broken car they sell you. At the start of April we purchased a Jeep Liberty from WM, and traded in two other cars to make the purchase. In less than two weeks AND less than 700 miles, the car was leaking, smoking, and overheating. We took the car in, they claimed it was a coolant hose to the reservoir and that they had fixed it. When we asked how much it cost, they said "nothing, you just bought the car!" Fast forward one week. While driving home from work, the same problem happens. Smoke billowing out from under the hood, engine overheating. As I dont work in Champaign, I had to take the vehicle to a Jeep dealership elsewhere, where the mechanic promptly informed me that no coolant hose to the reservoir problem would result in overheating. Upon informing WM that the car had repeated the problem, they offered to pay. However, when they heard that someone had accurately diagnosed the car as faulty, they rescinded their offer and said we had no warranty. (This news comes AFTER a phone call to my mother alerting her that our one month warranty was about to expire.) Now were stuck with a dead car, with no warranty (or a voided one because they find it inconvenient?) and an awful taste in our mouths. WM staff are liars, they cheat you out of your money and then do nothing to fix a problem they probably already knew about. Dont waste your time here.
