This saga took place a few years ago, but time has not moderated my feelings toward this place. I took my wedding ring there to get resized; it was 1/2 size too large. My ring is (ehm... was) engraved with my wifes name and our wedding date. There was a blank space where they could cut the ring (I known this because the blank space can still be seen, even today! [Spoiler Alert: yes, this story will not end well...]). However, I- perhaps (hopefully?) (probably?) needlessly- reminded them NOT to cut the engraving (the ring is myyyy preecccciiouussss, after all). Returned a couple of days later. The ring was properly sized, the engraving was... oh sweet mother of God youve got to be kidding me... cut. Not only did I take it to a _Jeweler_ (I presume resizing rings is like Jewelery Store Operations 101- this does not advertise itself as a butcher shop after all), not ONLY did I remind them NOT to mess up the engraving (did I really have to? But Im particular that way), but they proceeded to do the LAST thing I would expect any decent engraver to do! ...And on my wedding ring! To add insult to injury, while I proceeded to express my dissatisfaction, surprise, and distress (somehow avoiding using any cuss words, I hasten to point out), the silence from the store personnel was deafening. For crying out loud, if someone bumps into me at the grocery store they say, "Im sorry". But the concept of admitting your mistake and expressing regret was also lost on these guys. In fairness, they were willing to replace the a that was removed, however they quite honestly said that it would not match the other letters. No thank you, Id rather have it attended to by a professional. Finally, the last thing they said to me was, "So youre not going to pay for it?" Pffft. What do you think, Einstein? Ponder it for a while, and get back to me (...so I thought, but I actually responded, "No") I see that these guys get a lot of happy happy reviews. Its easy to do well when things are... easy. The true mettle of a person or a service provider is tested in unfortunate circumstances, and this store was an utter failure in my book. I live in Oak Park, and I cant even look at the place. For gods sake, theyre a jewelry store, and this is my wedding ring. You only get one, dammit, and they messed it up. Rating: Minus infinity.

I brought in a high-value quartz wrist watch to have the battery replaced. It was clear the battery had run out because the second hand fluttered as quartz watches do when their batteries are depleted. But when the watch returned from the back room (where apparently watches were repaired), the sales person told me that the watch had stopped working not because the battery had run down but because the quartz mechanism was broken and would have to be repaired at a cost of over a hundred dollars and would take a month. I took the watch to a Chicago jeweler near to where I worked. The jeweler told me that the watchs quartz mechanism had been damaged in an attempt to replace the battery. I returned to Oak Park Jewelers with the watch and told them what the other jeweler had told me and asked them if they would reconsider and do something for me. They blew me off. I returned my watch to my Chicago jeweler. They replaced the entire mechanism for $60 and did so within a week.

Oak Park Jewelers is a wonderful family-owned business. They take amazingly great care of you. This was my first experience there, and I brought in a Tag watch that I didnt even buy from them (bought online). Not only did they take out some links and resize it so it fit me, they also authenticated it for me as a genuine Tag, and even buffed my wedding ring for me when I mentioned that it was really beat up. They did all of this for FREE! Their prices seem very fair, and I will definitely be buying from them in the future. Highest recommendation!

What a fabulous place. They have a nice selection and if they dont have what you want they will try to get it for you. They do wonderful repairs and have given me free watch battery replacement. You dont see that anywhere. All the sales people are friendly and they seem to really know their products. Great place. Some nice pieces that you dont see everywhere. Happy to give my business to a privately owned store than a store in a mall where everyone has the same jewelry.

I was helped out by Bailey and the service was incredible on purchasing my engagement ring. I told her my budget and what my fiance(she said yes) wanted in an engagement ring and she found the diamond that was perfect. She explained in detail the 4 cs and compared different diamonds side by side to actually compare the differences. I am a new customer and definitely would love to go back for our wedding rings

Great service and very friendly I highly recommend them!! I went into the shop to fit a watch I was given for my birthday and was helped by Jim who was very friendly. I was expecting to spend $10-$20 to fit my watch, but to my surprise Jim fit it for free and told me consider it a birthday gift. I will now be going here for all of my jewelry needs, may it be for buying or repairs.

In Oak Park there are not many jewelry stores, Im glad. Oak Park Jewelers has been in Oak Park since I was in High School and I am 65. The best store for fixing watches, batteries, whether it is a purchase of a diamond, to fixing a simple bracelet you receive the most attention and courtesy. Their friendliness and care is appreciated by all of us in Oak Park.

What a nice little place. I was immediately helped upon walking in, and all of the employees were very friendly. I had a few links removed from my watch and they didnt charge me anything. I asked again, are you sure, and they insisted it was a simple fix and they were happy to help no fee necessary. Great friendly service.

My fiance bought my engagement ring from Oak Park, and Bailey worked with him and picked out a beautiful engagement ring! I absolutely love it. When we came in to order our wedding bands, she recognized him right away and helped us find our perfect wedding bands. I would definitely recommend Oak Park Jewelers!

This is a great family-run jewelry store. I have purchased my wifes engagement ring, wedding ring, and several other pieces of jewelry there. The staff are equally generous to loyal and new customers and generous with their time as well. Sam and Bailey were very helpful the last time I went in there.

This independent jewelery store had a large selection of engagement rings. The owner was very helpful and worked within my budget and specific needs. The quality of the stones were better than other jewelers I had visited. I will be back for more jewelery in the future.

Very honest place and great to work with. They have an incredible selection. Brought in a ring to get prongs replaced and one store told me that they all needed to be replaces. OP said only 2 needed repair. Very nice people, would highly recommend.

Hands down the only place I will purchase my Jewelry. Their quality is the best and their service is second to none. They are honest and trustworthy. Gary & Sam have always taken incredible care of my family and we will continue to support them.
