My interaction with OP lasted from March6 to April28. 3 weeks before my trip, I ordered a camera which was falsely advertised as being in stock. OP ensured me that I will get camera on time but I never did. I went on the trip without camera, since false promises kept me from buying another one. They promised refund, but I got three DoorTags while on the trip; so I had to use my time and money to ship it back. I got refund and check for shipping only after many emails, chats and phone calls. Below is the description of how I was babysitting OP: March 5: I placed the order with the note to contact me in case OpticsPlaned (OP) did not have the product in stock. March 6: OpticsPlaned charged my credit Card. March 8: I’m not receiving shipping confirmation, so I contacted OP. They ensured me that camera is in stock, and will be shipped soon. March 11: No information. I’m contacting again. It appears that OP never had camera in stock, but will ship it to me directly from manufacturer, if necessary faster with no additional charge. March 15: This is my last chance to get another camera before the trip. Contacting OP to confirm shipment. I’m ensured that I’ll get camera. March 18: I received email that camera is shipped. I contacted OP to get tracking number. March 21: No tracking number. I’m contacting OP. I’m told that camera WILL be shipped from Malaysia, and I’ll have to pay extra to get it faster. I asked if I will get it on time IF I pay extra, - negative; so I didn’t. I asked for refund. I was ensured that I’ll get it. March 23: I went on the trip without camera. March 24: Calling to confirm refund. Instead, I’m told to expect delivery next day… but I’m not home… March 30: I came back and found three FedEx DoorTags. April 3: Since camera will not be shipped back to OP, but to Malaysia, I have to pick it up, file RMA, and ship it to OP. RMA didn’t generate prepaid label, so I paid for shipping. April 19: I received refund for the camera. April 25: Got refund for shipping. April 28: I deposited a check.

I had ordered a reflex sight for my pistol. When on the phone with customer service, I had asked several times if the mount would fit my pistol. The customer service rep reassured me that it would indeed fit my pistol. I was suppose to receive 2 day shipping and it took over a week to arrive. Upon arrival, I attempted to mount the sight on my pistol, only to find that it does not fit. I immediately called customer service to inquire about why I was told it would fit yet it does not. The customer service rep had no answer and transfered me to her supervisor. The supervisor, named Christopher, told me that it wasnt their fault that I had ordered the wrong mount and that their customer service reps arent responsible to know the products that they sell and that it is the customers sole responsibility to know the items that they are ordering. I found this absolutely ridiculous and was even more aggravated that the supervisors remedy for this situation was that I could either buy the correct mount at full list price and receive "free 2-day shipping" (which I was originally suppose to receive yet it took over a week) or I could receive $4 off the correct mount and pay for standard shipping. I want to return the item and buy it off of Amazon but I am afraid that the return process would be a lengthy process and I will not get my money back. I will never again purchase from opticsplanet and advise anyone who reads this to take your business elsewhere.

I saw a good deal on an optic during the labor day sale and went ahead and order it Sunday night, Monday morning I received an email saying sorry but what you order was out of stock and we can sell you the same item but you have to pay more. So I called to talk to a CS rep and she tell me the same thing and offered to sell me different optis at the same price that other places have but what I was trying to explain to her was that they messed up by over selling and because of that I was having to spend more money, the rep said there nothing I can do for you other than give the sake price that other places have but somebody will call you back. Next day came and did not received a phone call so I called back and talk to a supervisor. Christopher told me the same thing sorry about your luck and that we over sold and by they way the website says that some items we may not have but we will still take your order, I dont have a lot of money and that is the reason I purchase the item with them (good price) but since they cant keep track of their inventory my $600.00 were in limbo. I wasnt able to buy what I needed because they held my money because of their lack of inventory control and on top of that they told you have to spend more money because of our mistake, they offer no other way to help me and from my background on CS that is not how a business treats a customer. So BUYERS BE AWARE about Optics planet treats their customers.

They were a phenomenal company to deal with! Not just optics! They need to call their store... The everything that is awesome and fair prices store! I didnt realize all their products have a little link below each one to show their availability. After I made my order they sent an email telling me a few items were out of stock. I then called them and they told me about the link on each items page to check if an item was in stock. It was right below the "Add to Cart" button! Hahaha I cant believe I didnt notice that! Then the guy spent a while on the phone with me trying to find other items that are similar and in stock. We did find other items that would work also. And guess what... It saved me money because they offered me a 5% discount and the items were cheaper also! I wish that I could remember the persons name I talked with on the phone... But I will just have to call him... "The guy on the phone" Hahaha But he was extremely friendly and easy to deal with. The guy on the phone then told me they have over 600,000 different items to order on their website! You should see all the deals they have on items that are just last years models and stuff like that. I am definitely looking forward to their promotional emails! This is definitely a one stop shop to get mods for your weapons. My AR15 is now the baddest one in town for sure!

Most euipment you order will be on backorder from the manufacturer. I ordered some equip. Next Day Air AM delivery because I was due to go to Afghanistan. They sent me emails and tracking numbers that it shipped, but a check on their website had stuff on backorder for 2 weeks and NOTHING shipped. No notification from them. I called and spoke with them, which they are polite, but everything seemed to be worked out for next day air to arrive monday (I took everything off the order that wasnt in stock). The cust service then gave me a VERY small $3 discount. Monday rolls around I check the tracking number... Invalid! they did not ship it! So I call them and of course the finance people have gone home for the night, but I need to verify my account with a $1.67 charge (after theyve already charged over $400) for verification. Status still on hold Tues. I ask for a free upgrade shipping comp, and ITS NOT THEIR POLICY!!! Do NOT order from here unless you want to spend a week on the phone during business hours!
