So I went to Value City about a week and a half ago, maybe two and was approved for 2k for the 36months interest free(or so I thought but hold on) so after about an hour working w/ Daniel(ill get to him in a second too) and picking out the sectional I wanted,..I was told that I was approved for 2k but only 6months interest free?..okay whatever,..still grab the sectional,..supposed to be delivered Sat(i work short alternating Saturdays so I requested the day off) THAT didnt happen since they received the piece damaged..ok nbd,..happens right? So I schedule the delivery for today...upon arrival they tell me they just do the room drop, not set up...the mexican guy who delivered it said "just screw on, just screw on legs"...said alright whatever, ill do it...soo i set up the chase portion of it and get to the sofa...no legs?...okay,..look once,twice,..flip it over...look under..nothing...go through the wrapping just in case...nothing...then i call value city and the rep who I speak with asks me 5 times if I found them..like a.)im remedial and in special ED b.) like id call before quadruple checking...this heats me up a bit and the rep tells me he wont speak to me because im being profane basically,..i said okay let me get to your manager...hold for 5-10mins til i finally hang up..call back lady answers says shell look around for extra legs and call back...finally the manager calls and tells me he can have another store send legs and that I CAN pick them up after 5(like i have nothing better to do than drive to 15miles to golf mill there and back) or wait til tomorrow for them to be dropped off..like im unemployed?..anyway so i tell him ill just grab them since i have no other choice...to add insult to injury i step outside for 10-15 and miss a call from them that they could have it dropped off,..of course by the time i come back in the guy who could of dropped them off is gone so i still have to go,..knowing that if I didnt step outside for ten minutes at least theyd drop it off. Im NEVER dealing with this store again and people reading this..there is a reason for all the negative reviews...i was told about poor couch choices ...no...its this store and its incompetence. Head my warning and the rest of them and stay FAARRR away from this place,..the ONLY decent thing was the sales person when I bought it(Daniel)..who gave me his cell number and has been in touch throughout the whole process...from the customer service rep to the manager to the whole operation...this location in one word is..incompetent,..pure and simple...and like I mentioned,..read the other reviews,..its not just me.

I have been dreading writing this review, as the last thing I want to do is to relive this HORRIBLE experience. But I do it for you, Yelpers. I do it so you wont have to deal with the same BS I have been dealing with for the past 6 weeks. My husband said it best. "I will never go to Value City Furniture again. The only way Id ever go to that store again is if it was on FIRE. So I could watch it burn." There are many reviews below on why this store sucks so bad. I will spare you every single detail, but I will tell you that every weekend for the past 6 WEEKS since I moved into my new home has been tainted by the hell of having to deal with the idiocy that is Value City Furniture. Every single week we had delivery guys out to replace different pieces because they just could not get it right. If they were supposed to bring a new bed, they would bring the headboard only, and leave the rails and footboard. Then the next week, theyd bring the rails and footboard, but WITHOUT the bedknobs and the bedfeet WOULDNT FIT! Then the next week theyd send out a repair guy to fix the paint dings on the footboard and bring out the knobs and correct feet that the last idiot left at the store, and HED HAVE NO IDEA WHAT KNOBS AND FEET YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! From the totally incompetant management (Joe Toomey) and desk staff that will tell you what you want to hear and then not follow through with actually doing what they promised, to the delivery guys who forget to put your stuff on the truck and then blame someone else, you cannot trust anyone at this store. The only exception to this rule are 2 people: Lori the Assistant Manager and Shentell the Customer Service Rep. They are the ones that finally helped me end the insanity by allowing me to drive to the store myself to take the bedknobs off their floor model that their idiot staff could somehow not deliver to my house. Just the fact that I had to DRIVE TO THEIR STORE to get BEDKNOBS should tell you how incompetant this place is. I heed you this warning: DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THEIR BEAUTIFUL STUFF THAT LOOKS LIKE ITS FROM POTTERY BARN!!! Its fiberboard junk that will come dinged up and it will take you forever to get anyone to fix it. Spare yourself and buy from Ashley or Harlem. Their stuff isnt as cute, but their service cant be any worse. I cry for the closing of Wickes Furniture! :("

I will never step foot into another Value City store, which is a real shame because I like their furniture. I furnished my condo with several items from here years ago and was very pleased with the service and product. We have purchased a house, so naturally I went back and purchased a bedroom set. I dont know what happened in the past few years, but their service has hit rock bottom. They screwed up the order by entering the wrong address. I discovered this when they called to give me a time for the delivery the day before. They also informed me at this time that my bed was back ordered. I placed the order 2 weeks prior and they tell me the day before that Im not getting my bed for another 2 weeks. My delivery had to be rescheduled, and the rest of the set was coming that following Wednesday. Tuesday night comes and I havent received a call with the time. I called and was informed that I was not scheduled for a delivery the next day! Everything got pushed back to when the bed was available. Twice I rescheduled my life around these delivery times, and twice they screwed it up royally, along with the initial order and not informing me about the backordered bed. When I was informed for the 2nd time that my delivery got screwed up I demanded to speak with a supervisor (I was calling the Aurora store). I was told the manager was busy and would call me back. I never received a call, despite calling back and leaving a voicemail after the store closed. I waited until 2pm the following day for a supervisor to call me back. When he/she did not, I called and cancelled my order. The bedroom set was over $2000, but the customer service person did not seem concerned at all that they were losing a sale and a customer. I was planning on purchasing a couch from Value City as well, possibly a coffee table too. Oh well, your loss.

We originally purchased a sleeper sofa from here in May of 2006. The sales person, Larry, was so positive and helpful! Unfortunately, when they delivered the couch, they could not make the turn in the hallway into our apartment, and so the couch had to go back and we had to pick one that could be taken apart to "make the turn". We selected a reclining sofa and had been very happy with it. Then, just 2 months ago, one of the recliners wouldnt recline correctly. I called the store and scheduled a service call. First of all, the man couldnt come out for 2 weeks. Ok, fine. He came out and decided that he couldnt fix it in our home, so hed have to take that section of couch back to the store to have a piece replaced. He said we would have it back in one week. One week later we hadnt heard anything, so we called, THREE DAYS IN A ROW, and nobody could help us and nobody called us back. On the fourth day, we spoke with a manager, Dave, who said that they didnt have the correct piece in stock and would have to order it. He would have Frank, the service manager, call us back the next day. Frank actually called the next day and informed us that it would be possibly three weeks until they had the part. So he was going to bring the broken section of our couch back, and once the part came in, they would bring it to our house and fix it in-home. They had had our couch for two weeks at this point. They were supposed to deliver our broken portion today (almost three weeks) and they didnt show. They still have part of our couch and I dont think were ever going to see it again. Ive called the manager repeatedly and hes always busy. He never calls back. Dont shop here. Unless you dont care about customer service.
