Called in advance to return an item with out a receipt. One associate said to come in and they can do it. Then she transferred me to another associate in customer service. This associate was short and seemed irraitated the whole time. I drove 20 minutes out of my way for her to say it takes 3 days to look up a receipt and to come back. I would have appreciated being told on the phone that I could have given the associate my information over the phone instead of waiting 15 minutes in line. When I asked her why she didnt mention it over the phone when I talked to her she blamed me for not asking. She was unclear and assumed I knew how Walmarts policy went. She isnt qualified to work in customer service if shes going to dish out attitude to a customer who asking questions because she was unclear. After all that I went to go shopping throughout the store. I found a rug without a price point so I found a associate who was more than unhelpful. I was told to take this rug larger than myself to another associate who can assist me because she didnt have her device. I told her I can not lift it because it was too awkward and heavy to carry throughout the store to find someone else. She then again said I have to find someone else to help and left. I left the rug and once again tried to find another associate through the store. Finally I found someone who was more helpful then the last but really couldnt give me an answer because she also didnt have her device. The associate at least helped me look for the same rug but unfortunately the rug was in multiple places with different price points. In the end I decided to not spend money in a place where their customers arent treated well. Id gave this Walmart location one star because the associate in the Dunkin Donuts was extremely wonderful and apologized for Walmart mistake. Good job Dunkin on training your employees.

I noticed that the choices for review begin with Poor to Fair....there is no choice for absolutely terrible. I have been in the New Lenox store a handful of times and will NEVER return as well as so many of my friends and family. I have witnessed the managers treating their workers like dogs, vulgar language included. I had one manager tell me that I could use the dressing room only to have another come by and tell me to "Get Out" we are closing. I have had a manager do not one but two price checks and held up the checkout line for over 45 minutes while all SIX people behind me dropped their items and left. This was just before Easter 2013 and I had more than $400.00 in my basket. The manager told me that next time I should price check items before going to the check out. "THEIR" tickets were mismarked and our icecream melted all over the floor. "SHE"- the same manager told me that she understood my frustration and she is frustrated as well. She then told me that there was a Target in town if I was interested. Those were just a few of my lovely experiences at the New Lenox Walmart. ......maybe a management issue??? For all of the wonderful comments that are on here; I find them hard to believe and would not doubt if the managers themselves posted them.

I have gone to this Walmart a few times. Today (4/24/15)when I had a nose bleed, I sure felt alone. I tried looking for help, their "greeter" happen to be nearby (at the back of the building, near electronics). She started getting excited and was teling me i had blood dripping on my hands. I told her to go get someone who can get me towels. She got a help from a customer, who stood by me and later walked away and never came back . Finally, a staff came and handed me some towels. She proceeded to tell me where the bathroom was. I walked by myself to the restroom. My path was blocked by the cleaning rack so I had to use the family room and was in there alone for a long time in a closed bathroom. I couldnt get the bleeding to stop as I was standing. Finally, I decided to just walk all the way back to my car were I could lay recline on my car seat. Along my path, not one staff was insight. After 20 minutes, the bleeding stopped. I decided to attempt to shop and that is when a manager walks by beaming a smile for me. You can guess, yes very irritated with their show of concern to a customer. My thoughts was, nobody noticed a lady had a nose bleed and when they did, there wasnt much concern.

This store is always in complete chaos. Never enough lines open (Typical Walmart), It seems they test out foods and never sell them again. I was really hoping the store would help locals with jobs but its far and few from NL. You can tell the staff that has been there longer, they have massive attitudes. The layout is hideous. I live directly across the street but I go to the Lockport store. Nice CS, clean, wide layout, always seems to be stocked. Once I am back on my feet due to a injury, I plan on leaving Walmart for good. Jewel is coming down on prices. We have both Sams and Costco. Between Costco and Sams, we do our generally shopping. I had really hoped Walmart would be a nice addition to New Lenox but it seems as though the General Manager can careless about the store. Why should the employees? Especially being paid soo low. *Also If something you want to purchase shows online, order it for pick up. I GUARANTEE you if you go into the store and it is not on the shelf, the staff will NOT look for it. But if you order it online, it will be ready in 2 hours, if that. This has happened to me twice. Management really does not care for this store.

Today I called to check if an item was in stock at this Walmart. l was immediately impressed with the speed in which the phone was answered and that I got a live person. Much to my dismay, the live person proved to be worse than the automated. She was so curt and smart alicky, that I wanted to jump through the phone. I am in the midst of a family tragedy so I didnt want to engage with her ignorance. I asked for the manager. She retorted "well if you were more clear, I could help you better." How much clarity does it take to answer the question regarding the stock/pick up procedure for a dorm sized refrigerator? Not much. She went further to say, "I dont know what you mean by pick it up. You can pay for it then pick it up." Well, of course I know the refrigerator is not free. She could have eliminated that whole sentence in my opinion. Conversely, I finally did speak with the manager Steve who was very helpful and saved the day and Walmarts reputation. Moral: if you are in customer service, service the customer or just quit. Not every one brushes off rudeness by speaking with the manager. Some people just go to Costco instead.
