Fresh Market is wonderful for special items and special occasions, but out of my price range for day-to-day shopping. The staff is wonderful! They carry a lot of products that I cant find at other places and they really excel in the area of deli and in-house prepared foods. My two favorite things to get there are the rotisserie chicken salad and the Greek salad.Their candy (bulk and packaged) selection knocks the socks off of everybody, as well. The bakery is wonderful, too, especially their breads. Oh, and they carry Andrew & Everett sliced and shredded cheese, which are fantastic. I would like to say that TFM is, by far, my favorite of the high end grocery stores in the Chicago area such as Whole Foods and Standard Market. Whole Foods lost me years ago when I brought home produced (twice) to find it frozen. My potatoes were frozen solid in the middle and there were ice crystals on the inside of my bell peppers. I also dont like the cult-like "healthy food" koolaide attitude that Whole Foods cultivates - there is a lot of pseudo-science nutrition garbage uttered in that place. Standard Market is a lovely store, but the employees suck and a lot of the products they carry are sort of boring to me. They are not good for international products, unless you only like European things. Meh.

This is my favorite grocery store! I love the simplicity and atmosphere. The meat department is outstanding. Even if they dont have what you are looking for in the case, just ask, they usually have it in the back. Never a wait at the registers as they are always ready to deliver the best customer service. The only reason I dont give 5 stars is the deli department staff is not very friendly and arent aware when they have a customer. 9 times out of 10, I have to ask them to help me.

I love this store. Easy to find products attractively laid out. The rotisserie chicken made with wine is very, very good. Their store brand coffee is my favorite and you can always sample 3 to 4 flavors free. The chocolate cherry kiss and Christmas coffee are AMAZING. The bakery carries small, gourmet cakes perfect for a special occasion. Their honey fig dishwashing liquid is my number one choice. Broad selection of delicious wines.

This is one of my favorite places to shop. Watch for their regular specials and prices are a fraction of other stores. Lots of items you cant find elsewhere. Many homemade items, too. We are fortunate to have a store in Glen Ellyn!

First impression: The Fresh Market is a grocery store for those with more means than most. Its extremely clean and the staff seemed nice but I am unlikely to return. Again, this is based off one, short experience.

This grocery store is a weekly stop for my family and I. Pre made meals at a reasonable price, and some high end groceries. The staff are friendly and knowledgable, and the deli counter has a great selection!
