Just had the best experience at this store. Samsung S4 stopped working for no apparent reason; Folks at Verizon were totally useless but they recommended this store. I cant say anything good about Verizon, but the rec was great: I show up and this really nice guy (Spencer) stops me midway through my first sentence and says "I know what is wrong." He grabs my phone and pops the battery out and midway through one of his sentences this other guy in a hat comes out from behind the curtain and explains and even better hack than the one Spencer was suggesting. It all could have been straight from an SNL skit. Long story short, Spencer tries to fix the on/off switch with a soldering iron but fails (as he predicted). Had this worked, he would have charged me $40, something I would have gladly paid. Since it did not work, he simply removed the switch all together and charged by ZERO! I paid nothing! The catch is now I cant put my phone to sleep (just just wait 15 seconds) and to turn it on it must be plugged in and the down-volume-button must be pushed (the hack discovered by Spencers friend). Also, I sat there for 20 minutes and watched two other people walk in (broken screen; dropped in toilet). They were helped by a third guy who was very nice. For one he said he could not help, but gave friendly advice as to how to work with the carrier. For the other he was very clear about how much things would cost and the customer seemed very satisfied. In summary, I paid nothing and now have a working phone. What more can be said?

Brought my computer in for a battery change and a repair of my track pad. Instead they removed and destroyed my hard drive without my concent. Although they did not charge me for the services and did replace my battery at no charge it turns out that in the process they neglected to fix the trackpad. Upon taking it to an independent contractor they found that there was irreparable damage done to my track padby the Evanston team and it will now cost me an additional 150 to get this damage fixed. It is confusing as to why- after carrying out a ton of unesesary repairs to a computer they would neglect to fix the one thing it was taken in for. When I called to speak to the employee on hand he refused to allow me to speak to management and said to me "well yes it was damaged by a battery... But why are you only complaing about it now?" (2 weeks after receiving the compuyer back) How, as a business can you admit that you failed to provide a full repair of a specific issue your customer has gone to you for in the first place and then turn it around as the customers fault for not speaking up sooner. Also the attitude of the customer service rep was incrediblly offensive and derogatory. Made even worse by the fact that they will not allow me to speak with management.

Ive spent over $1000+ at this and the Chicago location over the past year. Less than two months ago, they forgot to put in the screws that lock your iPhone screen to the body so when the face of my phone popped off and my phone was in 2 pieces, I went back to have the problem fixed and they charged me $100+ for something that should have been covered by them -- their negligence to their own job was the reason for my phone breaking that time. But whatever, I paid and left with screws finally in my phone. I went in a few days ago because my iPhone is typing random letters and twitches when you try to open apps, an internal problem. My phone is not broken and is under the 90 day warranty they provide after they fix a phone. My phone has ONE scratch on it, not broken, and they refuse to fix my phone. Excuse my language but F this company. Theyre money hungry idiots who do not appreciate their customers. If rather go to any other company who fixes iPhones. Do NOT go here if you care about spending your money at a good place.

I wish there was an option for 0 stars, AWFUL..We took our HP laptop in about 2 weeks ago now to get a fan replaced...They were rude in the shop, we never got a time or money estimate, and then got it back about 2 days ago. We get it home, and now the computer doesnt work at all. So we take it back to the shop to be fixed...(There was nothing at all wrong with the laptop except for the fan making noise on the initial visit). We still have no laptop, they have yet to call us with any information on what is going on, and now my boyfriend is currently on hold after calling them again, and he has been on hold with no response for over 20 minutes. It is absolutely ridiculous. When we were in the shop (which is very small) there were two people working. What could they possibly be doing that would take 20 minutes to get back to the phone? Why has it taken two and a half weeks to get a computer fan fixed? I couldnt tell you, because no one will give us any customer service. AWFUL, never again will we use them for any products.

I was having an issue with my charging port on my iPhone. I called the store and spoke to Sean. After describing my problem he said they could replace the charge port no problem, however he instructed me to try something before coming in and see if it remedies the issue. Well his tip worked. He could have easily taken the appointment and replaced the part and I would not have been the wiser. As a local business owner, providing the highest level of customer service is my main focus and Its refreshing to see that level of honesty and customer service in other local businesses. In the future if I need any cell phone repairs I will most definitely bring it to uBreakiFix in Evanston. Thanks Sean!!!

I dropped my iPad and the screen was completely shattered. Not just cracked, shattered into a million pieces and hanging on by a sliver. Glass shards sticking out everywhere, I took it into uBreakiFix and they repaired it in less time then they originally thought it would take! 1 day compared to the 7-10 days if I would have sent it in to Apple. PLUS half the price of Apple repair services. Great service and super helpful friendly people! Thank you so much for a great experience!

great experience...Spencer took my computer in and got right to work looking for the virus. He even called me that same evening to let me know he was working on it. I brought my laptop in on a Saturday and got the call on Sunday it was ready. Spencer took his time showing me how to maintain my computer more efficiently. These guys totally rock. I highly recommend them if you have any computer or phone problems. The price was extremely reasonable too.

I took my phone to another location and was told that my camera was effected by a mother board problem and could not be repaired. Being a pest and not willing to give up on the phone I tried Spencer at your Evanston location. He had small piece of knowledge that actually fixed the phone!! No one was more surprised than me. The little extra that Spencer provided will make my vacation recordable now. Cheers to Spencer and a mighty thank you!!
