Terrible customer-service at this place of business my experience with windy city pawn has been a nightmare .it A mobile phone purchase back in February I was advertised Unlock device and when I tried to actually turn the phone on I was advice by Verizon is lost or stolen when I tried to return Is where the problem stems I was treated like Treat it like I stole the phone I had to beg for them to return it And they refused Family to store manager said he would do me a favor this time you give me store Four hundred dollars was Spent on a device that now They are not responsible for Selling me a stolen device Ill give you store credit is what they say it So they gave me store credit ?Still without a cell phone I agree to get another one with the store credit Will give me the phone is what the store manager said that check to make sure this one is working .He goes and checks and come-back and tells me everythings good nothings wrong with his phone .Adding to the issue Weve gone and exchange it but you cannot be a problem customer anymore were not gonna make any changes for you again ?????At this point in time or even understand what the problem is .So II get the 2nd phone go get the phone activated to my unbelief they had a phone from AT&T in which was not paid for AT&T advice me I had to pay $400 in order to use that phone .The customer had a unpaid balance on a lease agreement with AT&T Under that equipment sold me . A lost out on $300 on that particular situation

If you buy from them, be your own professional at knowing what you buy. I bought a PS3 controller from them (with warranty) and took it home only to find out that it was defective. Took it back to the shop so it could get fixed and they so called "fixed" it. It they did something to the triggers so it would work for just a few button presses and then back to broken it goes. They would not replace the item with another controller even though I took it at least 4 times to the shop. They said as long as they can keep fixing it during the time of the warranty, they dont need to exchange it for another controller. Temporary fixes are not fixes, its just more proof that you CANT fix something. If you buy from here, I advise you not to get a warranty, buy anything and everything cheaper than what they are asking, and know how to fix problems on your own. I will not be buying anything else from this place again. They dont care about customers even if they buy warranties, they just care for your money.

Windy City Jewelry and Loan in Elgin is a pawnshop like no other I have ever dealt with and I have been to a few. The Staff is Honest, Friendly and always willing to try to get you what you need! They give you top dollar loans on your valuables; I know I was shocked in comparison to other pawnshops. Another noteworthy service they provide is if you are going to be late or forget your due date on your valuables, they have been known to contact you and give you a courteous reminder (they aren’t out to take your stuff just to provide you a good service, when you need it). In addition, Windy City Jewelry and loan, has great prices on all kinds things, I have seen TV’s, Musical Instruments, Tools, Jewelry, and much more for sale in there.

Went in looking for a Dremel. They had one so i bought it for $28 otd. Then I do a google search of the model and they popped up all over new for 29.99. I usually search an item prior to buying it from a pawn broker for negotiating, but the one time I dont I get taken. When I first got there I told the big boss that I usually buy at cash traders on the east side of Elgina and they did not have what I was looking for. He then proceeds to kicked them in the stones saying they suck and their prices suck even more. I totally disagree with the guy. Cash Traders is a better experience in every way.

Really friendly, they pushed to get me to name a price, but I deal with pawn shops quite a bit.. just dont give them a price and let them start with their offer. They will low ball what they "research" online as well... its ok they need to make their money too.. BUT!! Just from someone who has experience with pawn shops.. dont come here. Prices are not competitive when it comes to selling, just go to the one across town. Dont like that one either but you will get more money for your items.

I too had never been to a pawn shop. The place is lovely and the staff is exceptional. Very friendly, very knowledgeable - I stop in frequently - watch batteries & band adjustments is what initially got me In there, but Ive found cables, had jewelry repaired and have treated myself to a great item or two...did I mention the wonderful staff? (each and every one of them).

Had two one oz. gold coins I was looking to sell. Gold sells for the current melt value. I was quoted 700 dollars under melt value. If your dealing in coins and precious metals dont come here. They will screw you completely. I found a coin shop in Elgin that gave me the current value of my gold. This place is a joke.

It doesnt look or feel like a pawn shop at all and the staff there, especially the lady manager, are exceptional. I am NOT a regular at pawn shops, but have been going through tough times lately as are many people. I was grateful to leave with my dignity and some money in my pocket, thank you Windy City!

What a great little pawn shop! I am new to the pawn world (thanks economy). I felt like this company walked me through my transaction so i fully understood and was comfortable with it. I ended purchasing a few video games for xmas gifts too. Overall nice place and good people.

I found this Pawn Shop to be very fair and extremely honest. I sold 2 peices of gold and an older diamond ring. I visited 2 other local pawn shops and Windy City gave me the best price. I will use them again.

Went in with a 2.4 gram 10k ring. Scrap value would be roughly 40$ today. I asked for 20$. I kid you not the woman counter offered me 35$.
