Be aware of this store. They make promises and do not keep them. I called on Saturday because I needed money and decided to sell over 400 DVDs The woman on the phone told me they pay cash, 40% of what they sell them for. I had bought many items there, so I know what they sell for so I said fine. She asked that I come in on Monday with them. I called before loading everything and its a good thing I did. I spoke to a different woman and she told me I could only bring 100 at a time. So I took them there and sold them. Then I came back today and they picked through them again and was offered 40 dollars for 57 DVDs. The cheapest they sell a DVD for is 3 dollars. The offer should have been at least 67 dollars. I left and called the manager Paul. He said he would make it right, then he called back and said he would not. He told me he had checked some of the titles with an employee and found them on Amazon for a penny. I asked him to give me one title name and he would not do it. As Is aid, I bought some of them there, none were a dollar. Most were in the 5 to 15 dollar range. Just be careful, I will never go back there, to me they are just this side of legal, and definitely not moral. To bait and switch people when they are at their most desperate is shameful. It is a decent place to buy books, but they are not decent, honest people at all.

The shop itself as okay; not a great selection and a lot of things were in pretty rough shape, but prices were mostly low to match that. However, the service I received from one particular employee ruined my first experience here. I went to the counter to make my purchase and was met by a middle aged man, possibly a manager? He was initially cheerful and friendly, and then as I handed him my card to make a purchase, he asked if I could pay cash. I said sorry, no, I dont have cash on me, he suddenly completely changed his attitude with me. He was silent, rushing what he was doing, and tossed my card to the counter as well as my purchase instead of you know, handing it to me like a decent person. As I was leaving I read a sign that said they preferred cash payment, but their registers have VISA, American Express, etc stickers, and they have a card reader hooked up. Im sorry I didnt have cash with me, but it gives no excuse to treat customers with obvious disdain. They are still paying customers. I will NOT be back.

Frugal Muse is the perfect remedy for a teacher on a budget. Every time I want to do a Read Aloud with my kids, my first stop is Frugal Muse. I can get a used copy of most chapter books for $2-$3 and some change. Some newer books (Hunger Games, for example) can run you $6 and some change used, however, that still saves you off their $9 new price-tag. Unfortunately, Ive only used the store for Young Adult fiction so I cant say much about their other inventory. While their inventory of Young Adult fiction isnt constant (they can only carry what people sell to them), they do a good job of keeping their shelves stocked with current literature. Ive almost never had a problem finding the books Ive been in search of!

Be aware of this store as mentioned earlier from a previous customer. They make promises and do not keep them. I called today because I needed money and a woman on the phone told me they pay cash. I went an hour after I had called and the owner said they did not pay cash. I had bought many items there in the past and was a very good customer. The owner actually recognized me. I ask for a compromise and I was willing to take practically nothing for all the books. The owner would not budge. He had very little people/business skills in dealing with what I had experienced. I will never go back and will tell you and all my friends NOT to go there. Thx for reading this. :)

Went there for the first time last night and was blown away by the selection and prices. I found a book that had been discontinued at an arboretum bookstore, and it was marked at less than half price. A beautiful, limited edition, leather bound "coffee table" type book was available for next to nothing (probably because there wss next to nothing slight damage to edge of two pages). I immediately told friends about this place, and I plan to return. Looks like a great place for stocking up on ones favorite genres, and for gifts.

This place is a true classic they have tons of records CDs even VHS tapes theres not too many places left like this you dont get a high price when you trade in your music or DVDs but then again most of it doesnt sell for a very high price new now so if you want to save a couple dollars before you buy a CD or a movie check this place! staff is always nice :)

Frugal Muse rocks!! So fun to explore... great featured titles near the front/center and cool notecards and tonnns of categorized books, mostly at awesome low prices. I love trading in a bag of used books and going home with something new. We love browsing the records, too! The staff is indeed super cool and helpful and down to earth. Two thumbs up!!

Frugal Muse is a store that has just about everything: books, movies, music, and some collectibles. Ive traded in books, and transactions are usually pretty quick. Ive bought many books here, and prices are reasonable. There are usually sale books on carts up front and a whole dollar wall in back.

As alll but one review said, you get more than expected. The one bad review really dealt with the money. Ive never brought books to a used book store and gotten a lot for the. Why would it be different for DVDs. This individual wnated more than they were able to pay. Thats they way it works!

Very large store houses many books, cds, dvds. A single cabinet of blu-rays, many older media like vhs and some cassettes. Not so many LPs. The prices are reasonable and the staff was very friendly. Too bad I dont live closer. Id go more often!
